Am on White Night. Man I love these books so much & the more I read the more I appreciate the style of storytelling & the great humour weaved throughout. Just read the line "dammit Harry, ignore your penis before it gets you killed" and splurted tea everywhere!

Favourite bits: Mouse; the whole Lasciel story, I just know that is going to come to an explosive head at some point; anything with Michael in...

I could go on but I am missing out on reading time!

Ah Lash.

Murphy is supposed to have short hair, Molly was a gothic skank-ho for one book and never a naughty schoolgirl, and Dresden doesn't wear glasses. But other than that, well done!

As an aside, i've always wished that the book adopted the hockey-stick staff and drumstick rod from the tv series. Those were the only good ideas there.

...and as to Molly cosplay, even if that IS Molly circa-PROVEN GUILTY in which she was rocking the goth skank look, the girl should at LEAST have the half blue and half pink hair too...and IIRC the Splattercon shirt was black with red writing....and I think she wore ripped jeans, not a pink plaid schoolgirl outfit.

repeated descriptions of her as a highly agressive pixie had me thinking way shorter but i just looked at the WttJ and SF GNs and the version used there w Butcher approval is similar to the coplayer so ok, i'll drop that.

...but in my thinkymeatz Murphy has hair like this...

Pretty sure I remember mentions of a ponytail.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Pretty sure you're all nerds. I picture you all with this guy's official nerd haircut, where the front is gelled straight down and divided into strands like ratty eyelashes. Except Abyss, since I'm not sure Voids of Utter Negation use hair gel.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

This is a primary symptom of dresdencrack addiction. It gets worse when you catch up with the series and have to agonize over finishing the newest book when you don't have more lined up... it's 3am, you're tired, but holy fuck some awesome stuff just happened... ok, ONE more chapter, JUST ONE.... and then you get to the end of the one chapter and Butcher hooks you again and OMG OK JUST ONE MORE.... and the next thing you know it's sunrise and you're finished.

Then the twitching starts...

Read the penultimate Side Jobs novella & started on Changes. Flipping won't be able to concentrate on work at this rate. Once I finish SJ I will have to buy the next two... Then I don't know what I will do!! Anyone know how many books there are going to be all together?

There will be twentyish with an apocalyptic trilogy to end it!

No set amount though, also short stories will be thrown in.

After CHANGES you have GHOST STORY. I'd recommend having it lined up asap because you're going to need it.

And then you suffer til November like the rest of us for COLD DAYS.

Thanks for the advice! From what has happened in Changes thus far (15%) I get the feeling we are going to see Merlin use his power in a big ass-kicky kind of way!

OK so nearly half nearly halfway through and why do I get the impression the Harry is gonan have to die to save his kid? That conversation with Odin seemed to drop some hints & there have been other things too, like the bit with the Eebs in the woods. Also I'm beginning to think that Ghost Story might be not about him fighting ghosts but perhaps as a ghost or some kind of spirit anyway...

One final thought. Fairly upset about the death of the Blue Beetle. RIP. ;)

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
