Time for my big reread. I have a few things I'm still trying to work out.

First, I know that the FM is still alive, jumping around killing town and possibly scum alike. I have been mulling over the whole question of whether our current Serc and Barghast (after the FM leaves SH on the morning of Day 3 of course) are cult or if instead the CF Bahamat descriptor is meant for the FM.

The reason I think Serc and Barghast are cult is that the last two cult counts I have received have remained unchanged (2 cult), which makes me think that despite recruiting, a cult member has been killed within day 2 (my guess is by the FM's hand). But I need the count following this next lynch to strengthen that theory.

Btw, I have noticed Brujah hasn't come in to talk to us this time. Why is that Brujah? FM afraid of some questions?


Second, I am missing a character. We have 15 players, and I have descriptors of 14 of them (unless the hag isn't reading the Deck of Dragons). Who am I missing?

Third, the mechanic of bringing people back to life. I think that one person is brought back each day in the order of when they were killed. Tomorrow should confirm that, but if it doesn't, who is bringing people back?

FM is not an esper Fener. It says so in the CF.

Mechanics Notes: Town can win if all cult are dead either at Dusk or Dawn. Which means that the last cultist we kill has to be the one with the esper. Otherwise, the esper just moves onto the next cultist and the recruiting continues. This also makes it sound like there are night kills at some point, since we can win at dawn.

@PS - Just a clarification, but when in the OP it is said no two players have the same set of abilities, does that mean if someone is a lover-link creator, no one else can be a lover-link creator, or does that mean two people may have the same ability, but they have another ability that is different from each other?

Quick note on Osseric. I notice he was the first to bring up the missing player. Do you think this is because on page 1 day 1 he knew about the Spectre thread already? And if so, why?

Continuing my read through, I'm pretty sure Osseric knew about the spectre thread from the start (he seems to know we couldn't vote for Silanah in SH for instance).

However, his reluctance to follow a dead man's vote actually makes me think he is town (esp if he is expecting the appearance of a cult recruiter and doesn't know who Sil really is). If I am allowed to do a provisional vote (since I know we can't add or subtract votes until Monday):

What do you think the other espers do? The neutral one could bring either cult or town back to life? And the other....?

If it is me that goes back what do you expect of me?

When another player comes here saying he was another alt then you'd know who the fm is, would you want him lynched or would you rather go for one of the others and leave the fm to target someone else?

Part of the problem is I don't know if the Bahamudite is referring to the FM or his victim. So I can't really trust him, even if atm I would like to believe he is town (if he is scum, he not only has a crap load of power, but coming here every so often to check on us also gives him a lot of power).

If I see either the cult count increase or his next kill end up with the cult label again, I think I will radically shift into not trusting him and will push for his lynch (maybe to remove him from the game). right now, he isn't being cooperative in here, and that makes me cagey, but if he is killing off cult, I don't want to lose our most powerful weapon at the moment.

There is always a third option that he is a hapless cultist who knocks off his own members, which keeps the cult count down and allows him to be cultist himself.

What we really need are those full CFs.

I sort of like Anomandaris's train of thought. The Osseric case by Kaschan being dropped MIGHT lead us somewhere. We could Lynch Osseric and maybe find out if Kaschan is still playing for our team. @Kaschan - I don't see where you got that Fener was looking for someone based on hair color. To me it is him playing up to the fact that he is. 'Not-so-master assassin.' In my opinion, he was just showing how stupid he was by forgetting the hair color.

I'm also worried about Thyrllan. He may be the neutral Apos-thing. If that is true then we don't have to worry. But he himself said he was freed by Fener's blood. Seems sort of Dark, imo. Please give is more, Thyr.

Okay, here's more from the FM when he occupied Serc. This is another thing that makes me wonder if he's town. Firstly, he questions whether or not I'm recruited (which is a valid point and something I'd imagine town to point out).

Secondly, he attempts to clarify that Fener was not killing based on hair color, something a cultist trying to throw confusion into the mix would probably not do.

And thirdly, instead of leaving the WIFOM that was me alive, he attacked and killed me. Seems like I would have been a more advantageous recruit or a nice distraction, as Telas said he wasn't listening to me following day 2).

Again the reason I'm spending so much time on this is I'm trying to decide if I should help the FM or try to kill him, which would be easy after he kills someone and jumps since the person coming into SH can tell us who they were before the jump.

I don't like how everyone is hung up on permanent killing on day 2. The game has 2 VCs: either town eliminates all cult from the pool of live people or the cult achieves a majority + 1 in the live pool. Neither of these require permanently dead players. I guess it was still early in the game and the talk was centered around Thyr, but I want to make this note so I don't forget and possibly we can clarify later if this ever becomes a sticking point.

So you're not certain of Osseric now? I'm having trouble thinking of the FM as anything but bad, in need of removal. But I do think there has to be more to cult recruiting than just the FM (if that's what he is doing)

it's possible the FM has been jumping into cult, and CF-ing as his victims, too.

I also find it more likely that FM has smth to do with the neutral Esper.

Also, if I were to pick someone to lynch today, it'd be Liosan.

Then I think you can rule out Emurlahn and myself if I get resurrected. That would leave minimum of 2 out of the remaining players to be cult. If they recruit and we lose a town how many would that leave at the start of the next day? You signal in here who is the FM, we leave him alone ie don't vote for him. That would narrow the possibility of who the remaining cult would be. He lays his target down tonight so we don't know who he will take down (maybe emurlahn who is prime for recruitment tonight). So we decide out of the remaining players who is most likely to have the cult esper (in my opinion that would be either D'riss or Rashan after Osseric) . So we lynch Ozzy today leaving one of the others for tomorrow. Holes in my argument? Fill them for me before this day times out!!

hole in your argument--you are assuming cult started with 0, with 1 person getting the cult esper once they were released.
from a game design perspective, that's a bit flawed. I think it's more likely D'rek had a cultist among the original players already, who'd automatically get the evil Esper once tehy were in play. if that's true, for stylistic reasons, I find it less likely that the little boy would be the head cult. Which is who we should be looking for.


I'm still unsure what the case on osseric really is. And Lio is pinging my scumdar much, much more.
