An Artist's Hands

"It was always a wonder - and something of a shock - to watch the deftness of the undead warrior's withered almost fleshless hands, as he worked. An artist's hands."
Finally finished!
So this is still one of my favorite scenes from the Books. I don't know why exactly but the first time I've read it, it stuck in my mind and i really wanted to draw it (maybe i just like Bromance)
I know i could work on this some more, because there are still things that I'm not satisfied with. But if i spend just another minute on this picture i will go crazy. I used a couple of references (for Baaljaag and sitting Positions) and i couldn't find any description for Toc's Hair, so i just drew it from my imagination. And i tried to make Tool's Skull look not that modern Human this time.
And here is a bigger Version: Click meh

Wow, really nice. Only thing I would critisise is that Toc seems to be staring randomly into the grassland. It would look more convincing if he was looking at Tools hands, imho.

Thats incredibly good, man.
I wish I could draw.
I've always wished for that and to be able to play guitar.
I can't do any cool stuff.
But hell yeah. Very nice.

One thing that may seem weird given that we don't learn about Toc's mother until much later into the series, and this is very much how I pictured him, but
Spoiler
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I at least started imagining him as less pasty white and more tanned.
Good pic, btw.

gorgeous pic! this is really amazing Juna, evocative in a very classic way. i ilke that toc is facing away from tool, cuz you can see his missing eye. makes him seem very casual about sitting next to a walking skeleton. the background is also wonderful, great contrast between morn and the sun. two thumbs up

Juna, as always absolute pleasure to see your work. I dont know whose tone work i envy more, yours or max777's. Tool looks great! The scene incredibly well balanced.
Amazing.
Amazing.

I think we've found our next Subterranean Press Malazan artist. It is THAT good.
This is quite excellent. Quite fuckin' excellent.

You have skills, my friend. Toc could be sitting a little different, but hey, I never thought to see this scene outside of my head anyway!

First: Sorry for the late reply, i wasn't at home so i did not check the forum for a while.
Thank you all for the nice compliments! I wasn't sure if i should post this at all, so reading these words made me happy.
Heh, that would be a dream come true!
I know it doesn't look like it but he us actually supposed to look at Tool's Hands. (I think you can see it more clear in the bigger Version of the Picture)
I don't remember who his Mother is.
