There is a volcano over the ocean - as you look out of the front door of the base, sail pretty much straight ahead and you find it, lots of lava and obsidian. Would have it on a in-game map but I died and didn't get back in time

I don't think I found that volcano last night. I did find a deep pit with lava in it, doubt that's the right place. I'll be off and on later today; my computer is blowing up in this heat.

in game update. Nether portal has been found south of the spawn base, past the nearby volcano. Maybe a 2-3min boat ride. There is a big island ringed by huge cliffs. Inside is a volcano. Nether portal is at the bottom of the volcano's crater.

There is an impossible platforming course in the nether. I can make it exactly 4 jumps into it. I am going home to the base, you guys will have to carry on without me.

Made it across a ton of the jumping puzzles, across a ton of islands, then got killed by a blaze (didnt even see it).

So yeah, taking a break.

We now have melons at the nether portal farm, haven't yet spread them to spawn yet.

The nether island jumps are real buggers.

Okay this is just getting silly. Opinions on bridging the nether gap jumps anyone?

I was just talking to messremb. WE're going to do a "saved progress" type of thing. Bridge as far as you've made it so people following can return to where you were at. Just treat each island as a checkpoint.

I had no idea the whole nether was a big jump sequence...kinda lame.

I'm also going to extend the time a bit. Might as well see if we can beat it at this point.

I've made it as far as the big volcano style nether island, died whilst bridging it though. Path is ascending to the roof of the world, going to be some real nasty jumps there.

Sweet!!. I was hoping to get on again last night after I semi ragequit, but it was way too fucking hot being in a non-air conditioned bedroom with a 1000W power supply whirring 2 feet away from me. Good on Mess for finishing the bastard off.

I am fully open to suggestions for the next event. It doesn't have to happen anytime soon either..mebbe in another month or so.

We can look for one with more specific quest goals rather than just a "beat the dragon" overall goal. Beat the dragon is really way too easy and if there hadn't been such a massive irritating jumping course through the nether, we would have had the map beat in under a day most likely. Could possibly look at a survival type map too, where the challenge is survival itself due to scarcity of resources and available land.

Have a look at the maps. I think planetminecraft.com has the biggest and best organized selection around. There are literally thousands out there. Just keep in mind it should be able to accomodate 10ish players simultaneously. We didn't hit much more than that at our busiest this time around.

I'd love to claim credit by myself but RLY and ADL did most of the damage with their bows, the bugger didn't like getting within range of my sword for some reason, scaredy cat.

Game file is still there if people want to get at it?

I can thoroughly recommend Creeper Quest if anyone want to give it a go in single player.

I ran out of arrows and got the second to last hit with a block of gravel before ADL finished him off. It would have been so epic if i had killed him with the gravel.
