I'd rather have enemies than acquaintances that I'm not sure about. I'd rather take you as an enemy, defeat your arguments and make you a friend that way. Fuck compromise.

I'd never pictured the arms as that substantial before. Then again what I picture when I'm reading the books is ridiculous anyways.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

What is that? A sword for ants? That sword needs to be at least 3 times as big.

Didn't the K'ell have armor also? Silly sword.

Does anyone remember this scene?

A raptor on steroids with a fencing sword attacking the cast of Spartacus:Blood and Sand?

I think that one of Erikson's weaknesses is that he doesn't go as far as he could "visually". His monsters lack some visual appeal (when he bothers describing them), and in spite of the great set pieces in the books they lack in imagery.

He's good enough as an artist (this one has a nice classic feel and good colors) but honestly that K'ell Hunter looks just silly. I don't have a description ready, but the way I picture them they'd be more massive, bigger legs, more squat/bulky, shorter arms, no wrists at all. Instead of that toothpick (but the guy's "sword" also looks quite pathetic) I thought the K'ell swords were 3+ feet of massive, broad metal, all straight and wide. Something completely unusable by a man.

In the books they are described tearing through horses, so I'm not expecting swordfighting finesse. Their power should be simply in weight and speed, the blunt and brute side of things.

Those arms look bad because they look to human-like. The neck is probably also way too long.

Feed then or perish. Life is but a search for gardens and gentle refuge, and here I sit waging the sweetest war, for I shall not die while a single tale remains to be told. Even the gods must wait spellbound.

Well it says unfinished. He probably meant the sword!
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Hey, boobtube breastplates aren't just for fantasy women, you sexist!
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
