Spoiler

It's not hist birth name. I am in the middle of the FoD now, and I cant recall who said or tought that , but I'm certain that someone mentioned it about him. Or not, and i'll be corrected. Its time for a complet reread anyway. :-)

There weren't really any characters or groups of them I wholly disliked. Honourable mentions would probably be the following:

Tehol and Bugg - some moments (the letter in TCG and the Royal Artist stick out) are falling-out-of-your-chair funny, but I occasionally get a little weary of them. I wouldn't say they're ever *not* funny, but I think a little less of the pithy banter from them would have struck the right balance for me. Each to their own, I daresay some would have wanted more of them.

The Tiste Liosan - the group in TCG. It's nice to see all angles, but I just couldn't really bring myself to care about them.

Heboric - interesting, but I always retained the impression I was missing some of what SE was getting at with his passages.

Characters who I like above others is easier though:

Tavore - there's never enough love for Tavore for me. I know she isn't written to be strictly likeable, but a second read has led me to sympathise with her so much more and so I've warmed to her in the process.

Quick Ben and Kalam - I never get tired of those two. QB on his own is always pretty spectacular too.

Cotillion - when paired with Shadowthrone they're always entertaining, and some of Shadowthrone's dialogue is guffaw-inducing, but Cotillion I find more interesting as a whole character. He seems to have held on to some of his humanity and is repeatedly hurt as a result. His moments of conversing with mortal characters tend to be quite touching for me.

Karsa - Well, why not? The endless badass-ing has yet to bore me.

Silchas Ruin - he's harder to quantify than the others, but he just makes me smile.

I think i'll remain alone with this, but my utlimate favorite is Hellian. She is simply awesome! :(

But becasue she's back story is pretty clear, I would like to know more about Whiskeyjack, begin with his real name, and of course about Quick Ben's real history.

Least interresting and most irritating was poor Karsa in the beginning of his story. But it changed around TtH.

Not alone. I thought Hellian was hilarious!!! And if any of you disagree, well then I'll cut off my ears and then how would you live with yourselves. The scene where she stops the assassin in Malaz actually had me howling with laughter nearly choking to death... Oh NO.... YOU DON'T.... HE's MINE.... CRUNCH CRUNCH and all that. And that was during my ongoing Re-Read of the series.... re-reading DOD now.

I also really enjoyed Kruppe and Tehol as characters. I actually enjoy their banter. Also Crazy old Iskaral Pust (and his Mule) gave me a few chuckles.

Anomandarist Purake though... has to be one of the most awesome characters of any series out there. Mr. E was brilliant with Rake ..... I don't really know how to describe it... It wasn't character development with Rake.... Rake was Rake.... it was more like a slow brightening of a room light that allows you to see what is really there.... and what has already been there.... you just couldn't see it yet. Due to so many spoilers, I will leave it there with Rake.... I don't want to be crucified here on post number 2...LOL.

Trull Sengar was an awesome character as well.

Least interesting for me.....

Hmm..... Felesin and Heboric Ghost Hands. Mostly because Heboric didn't choke the ever living crap out of that miserable whining little wretch.

Cheers all.
Paradise belonged to the innocent. Which was why it was and would ever remain … empty. And that is what makes it a paradise.
