The cover of my copy of Shadows Linger is simply bad brilliant, provocative and splendidly exciting.

FTFY

It honestly makes me giggle to look at it. It's full on 80s book cover bad. One of the Blackbird sequence had a really poor one with Ashurek's daughter (can't remember her name) astride a dragon rhino thing.

Not quite. I seem to remember there are Komodo-ish lizards in this but no dragons from what I recall. M'gulfn is the closest thing to it but he's more like Jormungandr. Also by this book he's dead.

I've never read this and I doubt I ever will, but I LOVE this cover:

I don't know what they say

The English covers have the Goodkind quote as:

Evil Chickenman said:

A wonderfully captivating heroic fantasy adventure. This is the rarest of finds: a truly enjoyable read.

I didn't know that truly enjoyable reads were so rare!

If it has Supreme Overlord Goodkind's seal of approval, you know it must be good. He is the paragon to which all we who write must aspire to become.

Funnily enough, a few years back i picked up the book, read the blurb, thought "hmm.... sounds so-so, but might be interesting."
Then i saw the Goodkind quote and put it back on the shelf. Haven't gone near them since.

I have NO EFFING CLUE what the relevance of this cover to that books contents are,

It looks like they accidentally sent a cover for a Michael Moorcock book and just thought "stuff it, it'll do"
meh. Link was dead :(

I need that in poster form
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

CoCo,

I had no idea The Princess Bride was one of those Tentacle Animes.

The movie adaption really moved away from the book, apparently.

It's Williams Goldman's "The REALLY Good Parts" version.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Quick's recommendation is actually what lead me to pick it up. Willing to give it a swirl at least.

My my, Goodkind is not making fans:

What a strange outburst.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Jeezus, what a reprehensible knob.

Also, I think the cover is pretty decent...and is probably THE best thing about a damned Goodkind book.

Saw that on Reddit. Just more reinforcement that I'll never read any more of his material. I think he's a deluded, narcissistic, plagiarizing, deus ex machina-loving, asshole.

I love that cover, easily my favorite Goodkind cover. That artist does the cover for Lawrence's new trilogy, and I honestly like this one better.

Now he hates the cover because it's sexist.

He's right, in that it depicts characters from a Terry Goodkind novel.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
