I've got the Amazon kindle version, so I don't really known. Random House version? It's possible? Because it's the name I've on the first page.
Well, i got tired of worrying about this and returned my Kindle. 75% off the Kindle books that were on my wishlist were reported with errors, typos, formatting issues, and things entirely missing. So... Screw it. When the publishers pull their damn heads out of their asses and realize the move to digital is inevitable, then maybe they'll actually start putting a little care into their ebooks and proofreading them. For now, i'm not going to waste my time. I have not once read the Malazan series, so if i were to buy it on Kindle, who's to know if someone typo'd name isn't going to confuse me later on?
Before they fixed up Game of Thrones, the kindle version stated "Princess Elia of Dome" instead of Dorne. In the Hyperion books by Dan Simmons the "Sea of Grass" is Sea of Crass. Remember, i'm reading these for the first time, and if someone hadn't pointed out those mistakes i would never have known, and it could change my understanding of things.
I've gone with the book club editions of the Malazan series. Screw you TOR! I vastly prefer the digital copy of the book to the physical, but not until it's fixed. I'll give the publishers 10 years to pull their shit together and fix their older books. The leaders of these kinds of companies are usually too old or to stubborn to learn a new trick easily.
Sorry about the little rant...
