I'm just about to head off, but I'm considering the possibility that the zombies have multiple alts. I can't see PS being in charge of all of them on his own.

Cross postage! Actually, multiple alts really makes a lot of sense, how else are the zombies supposed to get the required numbers on a single person to kill/recruit the rest of us into zombiehood. So I don't think it's really fearmongering to suggest it, Silanah.

I like this theory. So I would imagine that whoever is playing a group of zombies is probably posting from them in clusters. Need to watch the timings of posts.

Sure, but how would that work for voting? All the zombies gotta do is see who else doesn't post, and then create a huge voting block....

Fair enough. Still, multiple alts with voting powers seem ridiculously powerful. And, it would be too obvious if certain alts didn't vote...
So, I'm guessing only one vote counts per multiple account controller? That should give us a little in terms of process of elimination.

Why do you think that? I think each zombie has to get a vote.

So, you think some players have multiple votes??? That would be fucked up powerful.

Its a zombie horde. I don't think we can rule that possibility out. So we have two scenarios to watch:
1) Player has multiple alts but can only vote once
2) Player has multiple alts that can each vote seperately, maybe they can't all vote the same way?

But, wouldn't it be fairly obvious who is an alt and who isn't after a while when they have one vote?

And Anomandaris, I am well aware of the odds. However, I still don't think it is necessary to start a fight without at least a general idea of who is on your team. These are long days. What is the rush?
We routinely end up speed-lynching on Day 1 because we wait 12-15 hours before starting to play properly. Seems eminently sensible to start early. It's not like there's going to be a lot of knowledge about who is in which faction available on Day 1 anyway - finder hasn't had time to do any finds, no-one will have changed sides so you can't look for tells there. You might be able to pick out some human faction/other splits based on how people are talking about the game, but that's pretty much it.
Speaking of which, if there are 31 alts and only 24 players, then that means some players must have multiple alts. My guess is that the zombie players have several alts each, which means we should be on the look out for people who sound like they're jumping between alts (eg. same mannerisms from different players, overly cute/forced interaction between two players that only ever seem to show up at around the same time, that sort of thing).
as I said, I have no problem with putting pressure on people. I just start getting antsy when people lay votes down a few hours into the game.
I had wondered about the possibility of multiple alts as well, and your suggestion is a good one.
Voting for someone creates a lot more pressure than just making suggestive comments, and provides a clear indicator of a player's opinion. IMO, it's unhealthy for there to be as little voting action as there normally is in our games - it's as though most people are afraid to change their vote! I don't understand that mentality.
And why are you getting antsy? A vote on Day 1 is nothing to be afraid of - with so many other players in the game it's not like it's going to cause a runaway train. Perhaps you dislike your leader getting pressure? Or maybe you'd prefer people not to be being active and voting? (I could see Zombies wanting the days to be idle so that they have more chance to recruit at night...). What the hell, let's throw a vote out there and see what happens.
