Optimism is a sorely used tool. I say we abuse it like any sore tool.
Right. That didn't come out right.
Right. That didn't come out right.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

By the way, my vote on Grief is a serious one. Basically, I thought all the arguments so far are pretty lame aside from possibly Shin's suspicion of the Dude, which also strikes a chord with me, so I thought I would go with my own crappy argument rather than following someone else's.

Can you tell me why you suspect me?
Also, Shin's vote seems to be kind of justified, but I also vaguely remember him and the Dude having some sort of thing, so I'm not sure.

But yours doesn't have 3 people buying in.
So... ask yourself... what the fuck are they doing there?

Honestly, besides attacking people for spamming, like dktorode did, there is not much to do. I would be curious how many of the 1200 posts had anything that can even be judged in terms of mafia.

So the newbs have cases, reveals, arguments, real voting trains....but we still don't know shit about each other in any concrete way (see, look, I can use the word 'concrete' too). So I put it to you - who's actually playing the better long-game here, vets or newbs? Eh eh?
no no no...its all about the post count man....didnt you know...post count is where its at!!

Complete gut feeling. There's nothing for you to argue against, sorry. You're just not posting the way I remember you posting a lifetime ago. I think you're scared, restricted by your role.

I like gut cases, despite their lack of anything substantive. But.... we need to do something.

How much time do we have? If not Grief, then I always like indulging in not-quite-lowest-poster-voting. So someone like Bubba, D'rek, or Bent, or whoever else is low but not Lizra (I maintain the very lowest posters are never scum...unless they're Kurt M). I'm also partial to following Shin onto the Dude (though I think he's moved off him now?).

My vote wasn't for the lowest poster. She just happens to have given less of a shit. But, whatever nobody else buys it.

Vote D'rek
She's been very under the radar and looking back, pointed out a code that Mac may have had(and then promptly moved on to spam, allowing the topic to fall). Drawing attention to codes tends not to be inno behaviour.

I'm going to be around, and I'm happy to switch, but for now would rather push there than where there's already pressure.

Yeah, I was thinking this too when I saw that, but I'm suspicious that you're the one who's now pointed it out.
