Thanks PS - So yeah, I got HD and Stalker as scum with a JA or Dk symp. This is purely a guess, but based on the Dude and Shin being dead, that leads me to believe that. Going to read 41 through the present.
So you posted this, but never really got a chance to explain your reasoning, which I would love to know. Cause right now it looks like a wifom argument, and as we all know wifom usually works great to pick out scum.

I think that Hd is scum, because of the 42 pages that I did read (didn't feel like reading 43-82)HD looked like a high posting middle of the road player trying to spam the thread and not be committal. As Bubba implied, in the past, before I learned to stop playing like scum when I was scum, I would do this and grab all kinds of attention whle my partner would talk all serious and be very helpful. This would cause the desired effect of distancing because I would be the high poster and he would be the lower to mid poster. If he got caught, I would always last longer, and vice versa. Now play the same as scum or town, this is good because i can get lynched as town and not be detrimental to the team, but when I am scum, everyone thinks I am playing like I am town. Meta is really useful to a professional killer.

As to why I think you, Stalker, are his partner, you fall in the second area of low to middling posts, very professional and serious and contemplative at times, but very little spam (again this is only reading the first 42 pages). I could pull quotes but that would take all night. So while you may say its gut, and it is, it is an educated hypothosis, based on how typical scum partners play, with the fact that HD is usually a spammer, but much more focused when he gets a couple of votes on him, but he seems to be shrugging them off, as "I may as well get lynched" (This isn't strawmanning HD, this is your attitude at the beginning of Day 2.) Alot of meta there, but the fucking game is played on meta, we are vets and know each other, I know HD plays better than he has been in this game because he sucks as scum. He tries too hard.

As to why I think DK or JA as symp - Honestly its blind fear of those 2 guys. Dk can talk his way out of a lynching better than any other player I know and JA can convince you that you are scum and get you to vote for yourself.(unless you convince him that you are a 3rd finder and get him to lynch a gaurd for ou, like in Obis game)

So there are my reasons.

View PostH.D., on 02 March 2012 - 08:49 PM, said:

I'm glad we both could give a lesser fuck about the others' opinion. It just happens to be "gut" based on someone up in the top 2 for lynching. Too easy Bubba. That's what I don't like about it.But, oh well. Have fun with that.Edit: I'm doing that non-quoting thing again. I guess I'm used to lesser activity. @Bubba obviously.

See, heres a point on that - he says "Too easy Bubba. That's what I don't like about it.But, oh well. Have fun with that."

THis is setting itself up for a self vote when 3 votes are needed to lynch late in the day. As scum this is a very easy and clasic move to bluff town into switching to someone else. This is what I used to do, hell occasionally I might go emo and still do it, but its too early. This is bad scum play. If you waited until you got 3 votes HD and then acted pissy and then resigned yourself to your fate, and THEN set yourself up for the self vote, you might have a better chance. But this sad emo HD this early in day 2 screams rookie mistake, like when I played in my first game as scum and said "If I die tonight..." rookie mistake, but the vets jumped on that. Thats what I am doing now.

My electricity keeps going off because of all the tornadoes and whatnot. If you don't hear from me for awhile, it'd probably be because of that and my laptop's shitty battery that is dead.

Same situation here, 2 tornados touched down within 30 miles of my house so far today, nothing major but the storm hasn't really gotten here yet. Hope your safe, and I will try to lynch you so you don't have ot worry about the power going out anymore. :)

Alright, I see where you are coming from. You are wrong, but it makes sense in terms of an argument. Let's be honest, the last 2 games I played in were the W40k game and the Mistborn game, so it has been awhile since you've played with me. I'd like to think that my style was always more towards the low-posting and serious side, engaging in the nighttime spam when waiting for mod decisions. By the way, if you were to read further into the spam, you would notice that I did make somewhat of a contribution of spam.

Besides as you noted with having one scum be the high-posting player taking all the attention, while the other flies under the radar, really is noob level scum tactics. Shit, that is how DiBs and I played it in my very first scum game, though I died night 1 lol. It has been several years since that first game.

Wait. What?

Spoken out about the M and P situation. I can do no more than that and if town fucks up royally I'll feel better they weren't blind due to me staying quiet.

Yeah, I had bent's reaction too, and was thinking along slightly different lines to that statement.

I didn't play that game or really pay attention in Spoilers other than seeing Khell trick you all pretty horrifically at the end.

Uhm, for those of us who have been out of the loop for a while, care to elaborate on that comparison, Ment? XD

JLV got some heat on day 1, and he revealed. his reveal was botched, b/c Twelve forbade him from calling himself a finder, or saying he was an FM.

his reveal boiled down to "i'm the most important role the town has, I can't tell you what or who I am, you have to trust me, and please heal me untill I can catch scum for you, and no, i'm not a finder"

his actual role was an FM that only worked on scum. Me and Khell got him lynched 3 days later, on suspicion of being cult leader.

my point right now is, if you're gonna reveal, either do or don't. this halfway reveal shit's not helping town. i'm assuming you are pro-town, and I don't think you're in any bigger risk of scum attention that you havemade yourself already. knowing what you are may give us some idea of what to expect, simply extrapolating to balance.

Did Silencer reveal fully and I missed it?

Or is he just hinting at having something?

In which case, I'd rather he just said, I mean, if you're claiming a role anyhow you're gonna be just as much of a target as if you say what it is.

I'd rather he said, unless he thinks the specific info will somehow hurt town.

I'm quite drunk though, so may have missed stuff earlier...

I'm off to bed. Night.

Also I totally called Dkts reaction and am happy with my vote.

Well, specifically, I initially asked if I should just prove I'm inno and implied that doing so would involve taking a course of action on my part that normally would be frowned upon.

Then later on I outright stated I have a role.

But no, I have not fully revealed, Grief. :)

And I've never claimed I had a major role, I claimed I had a non-M and P role that could just as likely hurt town as scum.

Arsing around with a reveal would normally be frowned upon as well.

If you have a role, I can't really see the downside of revealing what it is. You're going to attract scum anyhow, and not saying what it is just makes the town less inclined to believe you.

well that is interesting, I was expecting that you were gonna claim that you vigged Dude when you said "I've done what I needed to do." Of course, there is a way to prove it, but considering I'm at the top of your list, I don't want to find out.

I've been thinking about how to handle the situation, post-quasi reveal, so I've got some ideas.

There is something very odd going on here...
