I early voted weeks ago. Then since it is Chicago. Also a week ago and then this morning on my way to the train. I plan on doing it again on my way home. I believe that 4 votes are my minimum requirement to continue living in the City. :)

In all seriousness I voted weeks ago. I passed a polling place this morning and there was already a long line outside at 6:30. Something that I have never seen before. Also 4 of my coworkers were unable to vote this morning as the line was too long. Something which none of us had seen before.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Also like the Brexit vote we (mods) will be monitoring this thread so that things do not get out of hand. Remember that we are all civilized and friendly people on here. For the most part... :)

Carry on.

I'd be thunderstruck if it did from what I'm seeing in person. I was still quite taken back with all my fellow patients saying they were Dems their entire voting life but wouldn't support her for anything. Surprised the hell out of me at the time.

Did you miss people telling you that your old men friends are most likely part of the crowd of Southern Democrats (mostly known for anti-black and racist policies) that mostly flipped to being Republican in the 1960s?

It's like you missed out on the bigger nuances in US history if you don't know that.

I had eyeballs at the time yeah. Y'all took off with the labeling at the time and idk these guys other then the hr we talked outside so I had no need to feel like I had to defend their classification to y'all.

I mean y'all support a thin skinned fascist walking STD with a penchant for child rape and racism so labeling was bound to creep in somewhere...

I'm in a mail in ballot state. Dropped my ballot off at the county clerk & recorder's office this morning (1/2 mile away). Taking they day off, so then went and had a hearty breakfast at Crazy Otto's Diner. Have a solid bourbon and top quality cigars for tonight as results roll in. Should be a hoot and a holler.

You know, I have some Blanton's left. I may have a bourbon later in the evening as well.

Nobody is asking you to defend another person. What I am saying is that a bunch of likely Dixiecrats who don't want to vote for Hillary probably have reasons other than that they truly think she's a criminal.

Southern racism and misogyny is still so pervasive (alongside certain elements of Northern and Western racism) that often times people forget how others cover it up or recent history in terms of Jim Crow or reducing women's autonomy.

Oh god I'm terrified.

Deep breaths, deep breaths.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

For some reason I'm feeling less nervous about the POTUS and more the state stuff, some of which has some national importance -- CA might get rid of the death penalty again (or alternatively, speed it up -- there's TWO propositions dueling!) and there's a non-violent parole issue up, there's background checks for ammo, there's a marijuana legalization prop. Some pretty good stuff. Then there's nonsense like trying to force porn stars to wear condoms.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Georgia TOO CLOSED TO CALL! Unexpected.
Virginia to EARLY TO CALL. Clinton early lead.
Indiana to Trump. Expected.
Kentucky to Trump. Expected.
Vermont to Clinton. Expected.
South Carolina Too Early to call. Eh.

Florida is too early to call (my characterization), but will quickly shift to too CLOSE to call and remain there for a long while.

Vice News had a piece about the law to make porn stars wear condoms. It was a shit show. I think they should be able to wear condoms (or not) how they choose personally, but both sides had hilarious arguments. The funniest was from the porn side, where a porn starlet claimed that filming requires marathon sessions and that the condom eventually breaks down and causes micro tearing in the genitals which leaves her more susceptible to an STD.

If it passes, I guess bye bye CA revenue from pron industry, hello Florida! (or some other locale).

Sigh.

White people REALLY do not like the Clintons.

Millenials are REALLY pissed Bernie wasn't the nominee.

Going to be a long, long night. Or really short if the massive turnout were all secret Trump supporters.

C 3 E votes, T 33 E votes

The expected count as of now. The Battleground States are what is important.
