As a non yank I thought El Presidente won comfortably, although I would have liked him to have had a real go at Mittens' statement about the US being " 4 years closer to a nuclear Iran" what total horseshit !

The statement is bullshit when it's considered under its implications (Biden basically hammered Ryan on it during the VP debate). However, taken at face value, it's kind of like saying "we're 4 more years closer to the sun dying since Barack Obama took office." You can't say that the number is wrong, but the number itself is ultimately meaningless.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

Where he dodged the first oath is when he implied that those four years were 'wasting time', despite Obama already having explained that 1) unilateral sanctions are not nearly as effective as multilateral sanctions, and 2) multilateral sanctions take time to negotiate and even more time to do what they are supposed to do. Meanwhile poor blokes like ME have to suffer for it. :p

Also regarding the closing statements, where/how is Mitt going to create 12 million new jobs ?

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that the economy will produce that many jobs over the next 4 years no matter who is president (barring seriously radical policies).

Ah, so basically just another example of him taking credit for something he had nothing to do with.

On a more personal note tonight was the first time I actually watched Romney speak for more than 5 mins ( I only saw highlights of the previous debates). It's all in those beady little Bushlike eyes, he really is a slimey specimen is'nt he ?

Slippery as snake shit.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

Oh, that's not true at all. Romney completely abandoned his prior policies and snuggled up to Obama, and then Obama hammered him on lack of actual knowledge. This was easily an Obama win. Polls will show it too.

Polls are showing about the same as the last debate. Romney performed better on style; Obama went back to the stuttering answers of the first debate, with the aggression of the second. Of course, Romney was...all over the map. (Ugh, Obama repeating himself.)

Every poll with an Obama lead, with the undecideds at 30% compared to last one. Further, he'll have to backtrack on his statements about everything he said tonight about Syria, Afghanistan, Egypt and the Auto-bailout.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I just finished, and am I mistaken or did Romney just "propose" a bunch of ideas Obama already has in progress and pretend they were new ideas that his campaign is running on? Obama's line about how Romney thinks he can do the same thing and just "say it louder and it will work" could apply to like 75% of Romney's answers tonight.

I'm not sure about the Bain capital attacks. I believe Terez has it absolutely right about what Romney did with them, but Obama only made a couple quick jabs that -- if you didn't already know -- weren't so substantial. Eh, they probably have no bearing, although I have heard that the upcoming ad campaign is gonna focus on Bain a bit more again.

America being the Hope of the Earth is the sort of US politics idiocy that makes the rest of the world shake its head in despair.

I don't want to share being the hope with people who are tea partiers. As Hope I feel that we should actually think for ourselves and step one to doing that is not watching fox news.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

It is rough living in a socialist utopia. My emotional struggle against the socialist oppression sometimes get so bad I have to take a few days of leave from work now and then. Paid for by the state, naturally.

When everyone started talking about this after the debate, I could have SWORN he said Iraq. Weird how my mind just substituted Iraq when he was talking, because evidently he did indeed say Iran. But I was wondering 1) why he would care about Iraq having a path to the sea in the first place, and 2) whatever happened to Kuwait?

Obviously he meant that Iran is a landlocked country or doesn't have a warm water port. I mean Iran is located in Mother Russia right.

I think my brain substituted Iraq because that was clearly the country he was thinking of on the map. Either way, he embarrassed himself badly on that one.
