Trump admin (his new Secretary of State Pompeo) won the release of 3 prisoners from N. Korea. I think we all can agree that is a positive for Trumpito and a feather in his cap? Right?

See, it's not hard to praise the rotting squash man, you just have to wait almost a year and half into his presidency for him to do some good. At this rate, we'll get to praise him again before the 2020 elections. And if we're lucky maybe a bonus praising interspersed in between.

Of course, his pulling out of the Iran deal sort of throws a wet blanket on the prisoner win. *sigh Such is this wacky, crazy, mixed up world we're living in.

Chime in policy wonks. What do you guys think of these recent events? And as always, and first priority in anything you do: have fun and smile, kay?

I will die a bitter man if this North Korea stuff ends up getting Trump awarded the Noble Peace Prize or some similar bullshit.

To be fair it's more than Obama did to win the prize.

Not true! He postponed WW3 by roughly 8 years by defeating John McCain!

Or Shimon Peres and Jasser Arafat for their crucial role in ending the Israel-Palestina conflict.

Serioulsy though, even if he stumbles blindly upon actually helping to sort the Korea issue by sheer happenstance, I’ll happily pop on my bike and cycle across the Atlantic to hand him the prize. It would be bloody amazing.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Guys come on, read Nico's whole post. He said McCain winning in the 2000 would've been the best thing for America (as in winning against Bush and US not invading Iraq and Afghanistan).

Can't say I disagree.

McCain would have been a disaster as a president. We might not have brung generational war into Iraq though.

McCain is one of the least principled politicians in recent memory.

Read this Rolling Stone article on him to find out how/why: https://www.rollings...verick-20081016

Uh, did McCain run in 2000?

He demonstrated how poor of a decision maker he is when he choose Palin for VP. So thank goodness he never won the presidency.

Yes he did and he lost the nomination for GHB. Then GHB went on to lose the popular vote to Al Gore and have the supreme court vote to stop counting the hanging chads and allow for Florida's electoral votes to go to GHB based on less then several hundred votes.

Oh yah, my post was a joke, but I misread the year too, sorry.
That was the year Karl Rove pulled this: https://www.thenatio...nd-john-mccain/
It's hard to say if he would have been better than Bush or if we'd just be entangled in a slightly different set of hellwars, but I definitely get the impulse to wish he'd beaten him. You wouldn't have had Cheney/Rove/Rumsfeld at least.

Yeah, I recall the hanging chads and the "conflict of interest" involved in Florida and the supreme court getting involved and all that. I just can never remember who the other candidates were for each party leading up to the national conventions. BTW, it should be GWB. He was commonly known as "W" or dubya to distinguish him from his dad (or H.W.).
