To be fair, as far as riots go this hardly qualifies. A relatively small group of masked individuals threw stones at the police, lit fire to six cars and damaged several storefronts in the immediate area. No injuries have been reported on either side. From what I understand the police managed to disperse the group relatively fast, though I do not know if anyone were arrested. One would presume some were.

Edit: I mean, not to downplay this. It is very problematic that something like this would happen in Sweden. However, this would hardly have been a shocking occurrence anywhere outside of Scandinavia, and certainly not in the US.

I think it's time for a US led intervention force. We cannot let the Swedes suffer and clearly they will be unable to deal with a disturbance of this size themselves. It will also send out a clear message to the terrorists that the West will not buckle to Islam-incited car and storefront hatred. Unfortunately, the current media landscape has created a dystopia of misinformation worse than anything George Orwell or Ray Bradbury imagined (that's hyperbole, but the landscape is really similar to what they imagined). I don't think there is much chance of a sudden awakening anywhere.

I sometimes wonder whether I'm exactly as brainwashed as the people that fanatically support Trump. Maybe I'm just on the other end of the brainwashing spectrum.

I don't think it matters. If you are "brainwashed" to believe that human life has value in and of itself, then that's preferable to brainwashing of the opposite view. It's like the question of free will: is it all one long inevitable chain reaction starting with the Big Bang? Maybe. Does that mean we shouldn't imprison convicted murderers? No, not at all.
