Warren, Obama, and Bidden all endorsed Clinton which is good. Surprisingly, Sanders said he'd work with Clinton in the coming race. This is also very good, though I hope it doesn't turn many of his followers against him given how hard he's been campaigning against her. Overall I think Clinton is probably going to be the next president of the USA, and if she follows through with Obama's polices that will be not the worst possible outcome. However I'm done underestimating Trump, so I think its a very good thing to see ideologically diverse democrats pulling together.

It'd be paranoia if someone was arguing they were doing that to enact a grand conspiracy on the scope of, say, the Holocaust or Stalinist SU. I don't think it's paranoia at all to think of gov agencies as interest groups that get caught up in expanding their efficiency, power, and breadth of operation. The checks and balances are supposed to be baked into the Constitution though -- and I'd say they are there -- but gatekeepers can be just as short-sighted, misguided, and imposing as anyone else. These are both absolute failures of government imo.

Even if that doesn't happen, the controversy hook is still a functional Plan B.

To be honest -- and I don't mean this in a pro-Hillary way at all, even though I openly prefer her to him -- but the convention is gonna be Trump's last stand and I'm wagering he's gonna screw it up bigtime. Rumor has it he'll be announcing his VP pick by next week, so we'll see if that changes anything, but I think any "legit" potential VP sees the writing on the wall and doesn't want the job. Thus Newt Gingrich.

Actually a bit worried because of what is happening here in Britain with the rise of more extreme right-wing politics and the EU referendum we have seen a major increase in hate crimes & racist incidents across the country.

Can definitely see that happening if Trump wins - like Farage and co he is legitimising racism & making hatred of foreigners OK under "patriotism" or whatever.
