That's a fun Michigan implosion by Stevens, lol
What a nice way to rally literally everyone against yourself (and towards AES).
I have faith in the infinite greed of the American people. Sure, most of them are bigots, but they value their own wallets more. And the overwhelming majority can tell that the tariffs and the Iran War (the things trump is unapologetically proud of, and that no GOPer dares to contradict him on) are what's making them poorer.
So we'll see a blue typhoon this week. It's gonna be fun.

I absolutely still believe they have things in place to try and cheat their way to victory.

We have been seeing a whole trend of elections where anti-fascist turnout is so huge that it's impossible to cheat. Hungary, Serbia, Brazil, Israel etc.
And Americans are very opinionated about their wallets. Things will be fine.

I wish I shared your optimism Ment.
But never ever underestimate the ability for Dems to fuck up, the GOP to cheat, and the vast majority of voters to do nothing then complain endlessly about the result.

There's still AMPLE time for the Dems to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as the saying goes.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Not vote and complain.
That sums up entirely why any of the right wing wankstains about currently get why traction at all and why any republican, tory, pick your poison get elected

Things are gonna be fine this time, guys.
Once the Dems squander the opportunity to do something good again, and it's time for another vote? probably not so much.

lol, she's been kicked out of the Michigan Democratic Party, her congressional staff are resigning en masse, the entire leadership is condemning her as a traitor.
But both trump and Laura Loomer are praising her on xitter, so that's something.

Well America, give it a go getting this admin into a mild check today if you can...but I have to admit ten years of this shit has left me with VERY little faith that Americans will do the right thing...

Same. I have just as little faith that even if loads of Dems get in, the party will abjectly fail to do anything good with it.

If the establishment AIPAC-lobbied lot have their way nothing will be prosecuted and they will still send billions overseas and nothing will change.
My belief that America has it in them to do the right thing on any front even if the Dems make House and Senate headway is in the toilet as it stands.

Midterms are gonna be fine.
2028 is gonna be fine.
It's the 2030 midterms that will drive us all to dispair, unless the dems actually get their shit together and start improving things drastically

Lets be real the US is not getting its shit together over the next decade+ unless something unexpected happens, its going to cycle between stagnant and ineffectual democrats, to populist and dangerously incompetent republicans.
Rebuilding its reputation will need 3-4 consecutive sane presidents which seem increasingly unlikely.

There's been significant progress of much further left candidates within the Democratic local/state/national elections. The election of AOC has spread into Mamdani running the biggest city in the country and a good working relationship between him and the Governor of the state plus a surprisingly decent relationship with the current President.
There are still big time conflicts about messaging, support of Israel as they do a genocide, driving down prices of groceries and gas, how to spur housing development while people do NIMBY things, the proper role of immigration policing, and more. However, a bell weather issue is the general party wide support of trans people - we have a situation where it is rare for a Democratic candidate to be anti trans all across the country.
(Those people generally should be booed from outside their state and likely voted for in state vs the Republican candidate who is even more bigoted on a greater number of things - it's a hard dynamic to live.)

I agree that there's some positive momentum, but I'm not yet sure whether the establishment inertia can smother it.
Which is why I'm skeptical about the non-immediate prospects. The 2028 democratic primary is gonna be a watershed moment.

If they got rid of chuck Schumer and put someone vaguely actually progressive in place that would be an excellent start!

There's been so much positive momentum that I'm hopeful we won't have to worry about Republicans or Democrats by 2028... or 2030 at least.
Of course I'm referring to a completely different type of momentum (of progress), that is ultimately---in terms of its practical impact on most people---even further left than the vast majority of progressives... Luxury Communism USA.
