Seriously? She was doing that? In a movie theater with families and, one would assume, children around?

Isn't that something where they put you on a list and you have to knock on people's doors and tell them you're on that list?
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Not a movie theater... live theater.

But it shows how much they appreciate the performers... imagine you're on stage singing in character and you look out and there's Lauren Boebert jacking off some guy while he fondles her tits. Because you've gotten them so aroused! She might even squirt on you! That's better than an autograph, isn't it? Like a saint's toe knuckle....

Now something much more damaging has come out. This might actually hurt her chances in the next election, Trump bump or no:

Boebert's Beetlejuice date owns and operates a gay-friendly bar [...] Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar [...] that has hosted drag shows and events during [...] Gay Ski Week. Boebert has repeatedly railed against LGBTQ rights, urging Twitter followers to take their kids to "CHURCH, not drag bars" [... the Beetlejuice video shows a] family-filled audience.

By 2026 the US interest payment will be 2 trillion..@ 3%interest rates.

Cliff incoming ..neither party has a solution for this chasm.

If it becomes a major issue, there will be immense political pressure to lower interest rates back to near-zero... Trump would outright replace Powell with someone willing to lower interest rates (which is actually the right thing to do now IMO, but Biden is too chickenshit) to whatever Trump desires (... that second part, not so much the right thing to do... though even a broken, crooked, and twisted clock...).

The obvious solution would be an economic boom from AI, robotics, and (probably) quantum computing (possibly fusion too, though the plants will take a while to set up). With government funding to accelerate development, the US government can arrange it to get even more in new revenue (in addition to what it gets through taxes (and radically reduced costs))....

Quote

[The United States] is not a corporation, which can simply run out of cash. It isn't even a country like Greece, which owes money in a currency it doesn't control. [bungface] issues debt in dollars, which it can also print. That doesn't necessarily mean that we can't have solvency problems or that the level of government debt is necessarily irrelevant. But it's much harder to tell a plausible story about a U.S. debt crisis than many people realize, and both arithmetic and history suggest that such a crisis is unlikely to happen for the foreseeable future.

[...] most economists believe that there is some limit to how much debt the U.S. government can take on as a percentage of gross domestic product. (Pro tip: The ratio is what matters, not the absolute dollar value. Never take anyone who rants about TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS seriously.) But history and the experience of other countries suggest that we're still a long way from that limit.

The most obvious example is Japan, which has accumulated a lot more debt relative to G.D.P. than we have but has defied predictions of an imminent debt crisis for decades [...]

[...] when you look at countries that borrow in their own currencies, it's extremely hard to find historical examples of the kind of crisis that debt doomers tend to predict. In fact, I'm aware of only one example: France in the 1920s, which was more or less forced by a loss of market confidence to inflate away part of the debt it ran up during World War I[...]

And even that wasn't a catastrophe for the real economy; the French economy actually grew quite rapidly during the 1920s. [...]

[...] Is the United States likely to face a debt crisis anytime soon or even in the next decade or two? Almost surely not. And if you're worried about the longer run, I'd suggest that you pay less attention to the possibility of runaway debt and more to what increasingly looks like runaway climate change.

This is total BS.

https://www.nbcdfw.c...blican/3344510/

So the Dallas mayor ran for his second term as a democrat with no opposition and was “elected” into office again. Now he’s decided to switch party’s a few months later. Hello! He already had decided this obviously before the election hence no republicans running against him, and as an incumbent democrats weren’t really offered another choice.

Politics are so fucked and republicans are the worst. Now they are about to shut down the government and hurt all the people that live paycheck to paycheck or need government assistance. I’m so disgusted.

Forty-four percent of Americans [...] say they've gotten worse off financially under Biden[...] the most for any president [...] since 1986. Just 37% approve of his job performance, while 56% disapprove. Still fewer approve of Biden's performance on the economy, 30%.

[...] 48% say they approve of Trump's performance when he was in office [...] Essentially as many -- 49% -- now disapprove [...]

On handling immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border, Biden[... has] 23% approval. [...] the 74% who say he's too old for a second term is up 6 percentage points [...]

[...] 62% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents say the party should pick someone other than Biden [...] a third back Biden.

Wonder what's holding plausible contenders back... threats of retribution (in terms of fundraising and political support, that is, not the paranoid fantasy Biden-deep state criminal empire that putatively includes the FBI, the IRS, and no doubt the post office, all secretly being run by high prince Hunter Biden (and cackling Kamala Harris) because poor old tottering Biden has dementia... maybe Hunter is putting crack in his muesli to keep him from falling asleep?)?

Whoa WTF:

Quote

Such is down-on-Biden sentiment that if a government shutdown occurs at month's end, 40% say they'd chiefly blame him and the Democrats in Congress, versus 33% who'd pin it on the Republicans in Congress -- even given the GOP infighting behind the budget impasse.

Troubles for Biden not just his age in reelection campaign: POLL (msn.com)

That is terrible news for the government shutdown... though it leaves open the question of whether they'd continue to blame Biden if it drags on.

Everythings expensive ..yes..we are all suffering yes.

Have democrats (the profiteers of America who hold the most wealth!!) trashed America pretty much.

Dems can't point fingers but at anyone but themselves..they crushed society at this point.

@ Azath with interest rates were they are at..we are floating a real .8 to 1.8 percent interest rate. Maybe lower..they cant export inflation anymore.

It's game over if they reach negative interest rates. They have to keep raising rates to get in front of inflation..for ..years too. This will sprawl.

JP Morgan said $ 7.5 gas..which will make everything more expensive..

Debt jubilee time maybe?

It's actually hilarious to me that people still think it's a myth when within the last ten years the weather worldwide has become noticeably more extreme on a much more frequent timescale.

LOL. Yeah, it can't POSSIBLY be the Oil Barons (oil went up something like 1000% in 2022), and other massive capitalists that hoard the worlds wealth and push profits up to make shareholders happy. Can't be them right?

Oh, but QT, you say, shouldn't the govt DO something about those people? To STOP them from hoarding wealth?!

Funny that the Republican's held ALL the power for 4-6 years, and even now still cling to as much Senate power as they can...and they did and do SWEET FUCK ALL to help anyone in this regard. Because if you look into their donations, you'll find billionaires and capitalists paying lots of money to remain untouched.

So miss us with the Democrats caused this!

Again, oil barons. OPEC meeting in the Middle East is on record as having increased the price by a lot just BECAUSE THEY COULD. Like this is not hard.

In Canada Grocery prices are high not due to inflation, which has come down a bit since the peak in 2022, they are high because we are at the mercy of two MASSIVE grocery cartels that are fleecing us because they can run unchecked with a duality monopoly. One in which those two seperate companies that own EVERYTHING...they have LITERALLY been caught colluding on price gouging us.

You want to rip on the govt for not helping? Aim your ire at the mostly Republican lawmakers who refuse to do anything to help you people, and instead focus on culture war bullshit like pronouns and drag shows.

What flavour was the Kool-aid Nico and why do you continue to drink it by the gallon?

That's odd, seems to me the Ozone layer problem got fixed under a Democrat President as he collationed with the world to stop using CFC's and prevent the pollutants that were causing it.

Nico: "Climate Change was created by the Dems!"....is the most American Main Character shit I've ever read. Like the rest of the world doesn't exist and that scientists AROUND THE GLOBE haven't weighed in on the problem or something. No, it's MUST be an American Democratic PLOY to cover their bad policies! Like how do you make sense of this in your head? Are 98% of scientists and officials in other countries around the world all colluding with the Democratic Party of the USA to fool the half of the US that vote Republican? Like you realize how delusional that is right? Like Occams Razor says that climate change is real OR EVERYONE is lying for political reasons. And weird that the CCP believes Climate change is real and has been cutting their pollution as a result...why do you think THEY would help the Democrats do you think? Seems odd that the country your govt treats as an enemy would help them doesn't it? Weird.

OR...and hang with me here...it's the fact that Republican lawmakers stymie EVERY attempt the democrats in your country make to try to deal with it by claiming that it's fake news. Weren't you JUST bitching about your holiday location of Hawaii burning sucked? Do you think those fires were fucking NORMAL?

The easy way to look at this is "who is actively trying to shut the federal government down?" It's the GOP over and over.

Nicodimas is lying over and over because seeing the truth hurts for him. There's not much we can do about that until that changes.

Fairly sure I read an article about how the brain, once it settles into believing a lie or set of lies for a long enough time, it begins to treat anything that combats that lie... even with the clear, factual, provable truth...as an attack and rejects it in any way it can. I would wager that after all these years someone like Nico will need deprogramming like a cult to get away from it. His brain chemistry has literally changed to a survival mode where accepting that he's on the wrong side causes an actual health crisis in his head.

Perhaps a charitable interpretation of that would be: 'Democrats control most of the wealth, therefore they're responsible for climate change. Even if the people who control fossil fuel companies and other major negative contributors to climate change aren't primarily Democrats, Democrats have enough wealth to buy controlling stakes in publicly traded companies and more generally take effective action against climate change.'

Activist investors, technology companies, and philanthropists have done a little, but they could have done much more by now---that's true.

The claim that 'Democrats control most of the wealth' may be true:

Quote

In the second quarter of 2023, 69 percent of the total wealth in the United States was owned by the top 10 percent of earners

Wealth distribution U.S. 2023 | Statista

(I would add scare quotes to 'earners'....)

Quote

In the 2010s, Democratic candidates' electoral appeal among affluent voters reached above-majority levels [...]

[...] some evidence shows that Democratic candidates actually beat Republicans in attaining support from the top 5% (by income), the highest income stock-owning voters, and even the top 1% of voters (by income) over the past decade.

[...] Gethin, Martínez-Toledano, and Piketty (2021) showed that a majority of the top 10% (by income) voted for the Democratic presidential candidate in the 2010s.

[...] stock-owning voters (just over half of American society) have increased their Democratic allegiance consistently since 2008—particularly the stock owners in the top 10%–15% of the income distribution (i.e., $150,000+ family income in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020). [The accompanying graph shows that the top 10-15% of stock owners, the top 5%, and the top 1% all voted Democratic in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.]

[...] how much of the swing of affluent voters to the Democratic Party may be caused by Trump's prominence and two-time candidacy?

A few clues show that this trend is not primarily related to Trump. First, the [...] over-time data [...] show that the shift of higher-income voters toward the Democratic Party started decades before Trump's rise. Second, the data on voting for U.S. House and gubernatorial candidates [...] show that mostly similar kinds of trends have been underway in the decisions for non-presidential (i.e., non-Trump) candidates. Third, European studies of shifts in the voter coalitions of different parties show that the trend of more-educated, urban, middle- and higher-income voters toward center-left parties (and less-educated voters toward right populist parties) is happening in those countries, too [...]

At the same time, nearly all the figures in this paper show that 2016 and 2020 were the elections when more-affluent voters most preferred Democratic candidates in recent memory, even at above-majority levels (a sort of "backwards"—i.e., severely unexpected—polarization). Those two elections were the first time that majorities of the top 5% (by income) voted for the Democratic candidate. [...] Survey evidence has consistently shown that the wealthiest Americans are the most liberal (or moderate) on issues like trade and immigration [...] that Trump campaigned against, contrary to other Republicans in recent memory. Relatedly, an impression of Trump was that he was more anti-elite in his rhetoric, in addition to being less predictable in general[...] Finally, as establishment Democratic politicians, nominees Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden [...] may have seemed relatively safe choices for the richest Americans. [...] while Trump clearly did not spark the trend of affluent voters choosing Democrats over Republicans—which really began in the 1990s and has been happening in other advanced democracies—his candidacy may very well have accentuated the trend in recent elections.

Polarization of the Rich: The New Democratic Allegiance of Affluent Americans and the Politics of Redistribution | Perspectives on Politics | Cambridge Core

However, based on a cursory skim of that paper and other credible evidence, voting against Trump in the presidential election is not necessarily a good indicator of whether the ultra-rich self-identify as 'Democrats', 'Republicans', or 'conservatives'. For example (from 2020):

Quote

Our billionaire cohort skewed [...] 43% Republicans, 24% Democrats and 33% independents. Yet they're swaying blue. Nearly half, or 48%, say they're casting a ballot for Biden, compared to 40% for Trump.

Exclusive Forbes Survey Of U.S. Billionaires On How They Will Vote For President

So they would really need specific (and of course accurate) data on party self-identification (and preferably also 'conservative' or 'liberal' or 'progressive' self-identification) and who actually controls what % of overall wealth.
