1) No idea, but it has died down recently, don't expect it to come back from the grave now that he is a cop and can put some police brutality on the UKers who start it up again. (Also I think it was Cougars fetish that he put on Tiste, but oh well)
2) Abyss is ICE. He blatantly stated he was not SE but he never responded to the 'Are you ICE' question.
3) The cover of Gardens looks like a shitty romance novel here in the States. Also as HD noted, there is no media coverage, and really no reviews at all around.

I'm Texan, and its honestly just because the books are very obscure here in the States. I can't find much more than GotM in book stores. The rest i had to buy on the Kindle. Just not much in the way of marketing MBotF down here.

The only forum legend I remember is the "I win" thread.

it was a thread started by Abyss when his rep power has hit 100, back in 2007, on the old forum.

this has resulted in antagonism by the unsecure Apt, and the rise of the rep-whores.

it also became a crazy breed of lolcat pics/comedy RP type thread, that flourished on the forum, until most of its active participants didn't discover mafia.

then came the forumpocalypse, and the win thread died, and was no more.

oh, and at some point during its existence, in a separate thread, Mal mentioned his conversation with SE, in which SE said something along the lines of finding Abyss' comments humorous.
at which point it became official that Abyss wins.
