Ah, yeah, just got to the end of GotM. I'd forgotten it had a glossery. :s
I knew Beru was connected to the sea somehow. Just you almost never hear about him doing much. Some gods seem like they're just kinda sitting around, going "hey, what are you guys doin' over there?"

You can also become a god if you are already an ascendant through worship (Cotillion being worshipped as patron god of assassins, with a remarkable lack of worship, btw - only Kalam calls on him once and that is when he is cursing).
If memory serves...and at times it serves double faults, there was only one other person who would have classified on a similar way to Kalam and that was Crokus/Cutter when he accepted Cot as his patron. I would hazard a guess and say that it probably made him Cots only official person to receive benfice from his patron. (thank goodness for the oxford dictionary).

Beru also underwent a sex change, since the later books refer to Beru and Nerruse as Mael's daughters.
also, don't forget Jhess, the goddess of weaving.

Lostara may have been but the only one that had a proper one to one where cots actually asked the question along the lines of "Can I be your patron" was Crokus..... this was when Crokus decided to take Rallicks path as opposed to getting magic blades from Cots or something to that effect, the question/discussion with Los and Cots may have happened of screen unless someone can point me to where it happened.
