Uesugi Fusayoshi stared down at the message he held in his hands. The seals were correct. The messenger was correct. The language was correct. It was an official summons to the Imperial Court, for an audience with his revered self, the Emperor. His eyes bulged and his mind raced. There was no way to refuse this summons. He must delay! The way events were moving he knew he had to act now, and if he must remove himself to Kyoto, the potential advantages could pass him by.
He bowed his acquiescence to the messenger. "May I ask what has caused the Son of Heaven to call upon me?"
The messenger bowed his head in mock deference. "His majesty is currently entertaining a royal delegation from Korea, and word of your famous 'bow of Hachiman, god of war' has deemed worthy of interest. They wish to see it."
"Please allow me to delay this!" He thought. Aloud Fusayoshi replied, "It is one of the greatest treasures of the Uesugi. If it were at all possible, I would like to send the bow ahead to be inspected, and I will arrive later to pay my respects."
"That will not be possible," the imperial messenger replied, "the honorable Uesugi has been asked for by name."
Unable to conceal his desperation from his face, Fusayoshi acquiesced. After the messenger had left, he immediately sent runners to his most trusted commanders. The campaign would just have to continue without him, and he could do nothing more than hope for the best.
Uesugi Fusayoshi, (Eloth, Gust Hubb) has been lynched. Although his character is not dead, he is no longer a part of the Chapter 2 scenario.

I am still waiting on some actions and/or confirmations. BTW, confirmations aren't strictly necessary, but they are nice because they serve to speed things up a bit.
In clarification, I made two errors on the final voting. The first error is somehow Silanah's name was deleted from the "not voting" list. On the lynch train, I should not have counted Atrahal's vote.
Here is how it should have looked:
It is Day 1. There has been a lynch.

11 Votes to Lynch. 10 to go to night.
1 Vote Tulas Shorn: Atrahal
1 Vote Atrahal: Tulas Shorn
3 Votes Merrid: Eloth, Sorrit, Olar Ethil
9 Votes Eloth: Shetatha Lore, Liosan, Okaros, Galayn Lord, Karatallid, Korvalain, Merrid, Omtose, Shadow
Players not voting: Fener, Kessobahn, Korlat,, Silanah Osseric, Tiamatha
This was because I was in a rush to get to work when I did this, so I made a boo boo. So yes, 9 votes, and yes, Eloth was lynched.

Uji sucked his teeth, tutted and poured some more tea. Interpreting that as a sign of interest from the old innkeeper, Tsuyoshi continued. "Yes, times are going to become thin around here. The farmers are turned back to soldiers and I hear they've started fighting up North. Or maybe it was West? Probably both. Some border forts have been burned down and that's sent troops swarming about like mad.
What's more is those bastards the Takeda appear to be moving on the Ashikaga. Just like them to go and disturb the peace. And that's sent the Uesugi and Miura scrambling to press their flank, trying to find an advantage. Or maybe it was the Fujiwari? Bah, it doesn't matter which banner is on the field in the end."
Uji smiled and bowed obsequiously. War had naught to do with his poor old inn.
Usubu Toyokuni rallied his men into a defense cordon and watched them steady against the next charge that was sure to come. He drew his sword, promising that as he died he'd take some of those bastard Takeda with him. He heard the conch blow, and turned to face the renewed teeth of the Takeda assault. "Ashikaaaaaagaaaaa" he roared as the first wave swarmed over his men.
Usubu Toyokuni of the Ashikaga (Osseric/twelve) is dead.
The war that had ignited first with the burning of forts along the contested lands between the Uesugi, Takeda and Miura was also waged in quiet rooms, far from any battlefield. The possibility of enemies becoming allies, or even vassals, kept many a spy and messenger in daily rice. There were some, however, who chose to honor their Allies even unto death.

Yes, the vote number is correct. Yes, a lynch has occurred.
It could not be said that Miura Yoshimoto had not fought bravely. He stood tall on the battlefield and fought as manfully and as skillfully as any of his peers. It was just his outspokenness that people didn't like. He had a tendency to criticize others for no apparent reason, and for that he was oft resented. So when he took a blow to the head in a skirmish with the Ashikaga, no one thought to question his even harsher than usual words over a rumor that the Uesugi Lord had been called off to Kyoto. Often angry after a draft of sake or two, his arrogance finally tipped his companions against him. They had finally had enough, and officially complained to their superiors in the Miura command. For insubordination and lack of discipline he was ordered to return to his home in disgrace. Rather than accept such an embarrassing punishment, he drew his sword and with a mighty cry he took off his own head.
Miura Yoshimoto (Silanah/Theblindsapper) is dead.

The wedge of Fujiwari soldiers headed up the valley towards where it widened out into a V shaped plain. Being late to join the formation, Iwakiri Yoshitora pushed his men at a jog in order to make up time. It was there, at a run that his life expired. Although he reacted instinctively to the arrow that pierced his throat, he was already dead from the one that had passed through his heart. As such, he never saw the completion of the skirmish that easily wiped out his outnumbered contingent of men. Nor would he know, in this lifetime, which arrow in his body had flown from the Uesugi, who had swept down from their places on the Western ridge, and which arrow had come from the Miura, who had come round the hillside to the East. Having been given orders to engage with only the Fujiwari, both the Miura and Uesugi soldiers carefully withdrew.
Iwakiri Yoshitora of the Fujiwari (Merrid/D'rek) is dead.
The Takeda, flush with the success of their incursion into Ashikaga territory pushed further, overrunning fortifications and disrupting the Ashikaga courier system. It was after they had put themselves past Mt. Hakone where they met the first major Ashikaga army in opposition, commanded by Ashikaga Yoshiaki. Both sides fought fiercely, believing they could drive the other army before them. In a bold move, Yoshiaki led a brave charge of mounted warriors personally. Takeda spearmen melted under the onslaught of the Ashikaga mounted samurai, and it was later said that it was Yoshiaki himself who struck a near fatal blow to the Takeda leader once he had reached the Takeda command pavilion. The Takeda recovered however, and pushed the Ashikaga back. They withdrew from the field and returned North across the pass. Rumors went that Takeda Nobutsuna was still alive, but could expire at any time. There was much celebration in the camp of the Shogun loyalists that night, and grim satisfaction for many nights to come.
Takeda Nobutsuna (Galayn Lord, Tapper) has been gravely wounded. Although his character is not dead, he is no longer a part of the Chapter 2 scenario.

Miura Yoshitora pushed his way forward. This was the third counterattack by the Fujiwari, and they were pressing hard. The tall banner attached to the back of his breastplate whipped in the warm wind of early evening. There! There was the banner of Iida Gen, no more than 3 spear lengths away! If I can kill the General, I can present the head to my lord and firmly grasp my own fame in my hands. I will earn the right to wear the two swords. Yoshitora pushed forward, striking a bodyguard a blow to the forehead with the butt of his spear, dropping the stunned man like a sack of rice. It was the the soldier next to him, the bodyguard’s comrade, who split Yoshitora’s skull with his blade. Thus ended his brief window to glory.
Miura Yoshitora (Sorrit/Obdigore) is dead.
Ashikaga Yoshiaki appeared before the kamakura kubo in full battle dress. In his arms he carried a rough sack, the bottom of which was soaked red. Masamoto motioned for the bundle to be unwrapped. Once done so, he peered closely at the head. “That’s not Tokitaka.” He sneered.
Yoshiaki replied, “No, sire. This is the head of his lead bodyguard. A dread blow was struck at Tokitaka as well, but his remaining troops managed to push us back before we could claim the head. We believe he is dead.”
“We shall see.” Masamoto replied. Go display the head with proper respect, and retake the field. The Miura have been crippled, and the Takeda have largely withdrawn. The Uesugi have disappeared and are rudderless in any event. It seems now we must decide what to do about those upstart Fujiwari. To think they were our greatest supporters against the Hojo. It seems they did so merely to maneuver for their own positioning against us, their rightful rulers.”
Miura Tokitaka (Okaros/Morgoth) has been gravely wounded. Although he is not dead, he is no longer part of the Chapter 2 scenario.
It really came as a surprise to no one when the Takeda’s army was defeated again. The Takeda’s ragged retreat after their defeat at Mishima left them ripe for an attack. The strike by Nagao Tamekage was timed perfectly, while the Takeda troops were found despondently strung out in one of the valleys North of Mt. Hakone, he cut them off and destroyed the already battered army. Nearly a quarter were killed or captured, before the Takeda reached a position where they were able to dig in with their backs to the slopes. With reinforcements coming from the North to relieve the retreat, Tamekage felt his position in that valley was untenable and withdrew. It was clear, however, that the Uesugi had successfully gained control of a fair swath of Takeda territory, and the Takeda General had taken a brutal slash across the shoulder and neck, and seemed likely to die.
Takeda Nobutara (Atrahal/Mentalist) has been gravely wounded. Although he is not dead, he is no longer part of the Chapter 2 scenario.
It is Day 4. Weekend Timer Freeze in effect.
