Should replace all of Hobb and all of Greg Keyes with Discworld books, imo.

Just finished WAYLANDER by David Gemmell. It was nice and easy, interesting read. Lots of death and such. A lot of the characters had random turn-arounds, but I think it was overall enjoyable.

I have the curse of enjoying almost every book I read. I'm sure I'll be fine.

You seem to be on track so far.

I know you've got plenty of series on your to read pile, but have you tried The Dark Tower?

Gemmell's IN THE REALM OF THE WOLF was a quite satisfying follow up to WAYLANDER. I can't believe I've never read Gemmell before this. It's such simple fun.

And to be fair, it's not completely simple. The protagonist isn't exactly a nice guy. Gemmell doesn't do the grey-zone hero as well as people do nowadays, but there weren't any characters that were boringly faultless.

Thinking a break from Gemmell.. maybe one more. Or back to Dresden.

Wait until you start reading some of the Druss books. Legend will always have a spot on my bookshelf.

Hobb was awesome... still makes me sad that.

Gemmell is always gold, gotta love those heroes... Druss, Waylander, Skilgannon, Shannow,

Further regarding Gemmell, outside the Drenai material, Echoes of the Great Song and Dark Moon are fantastic stand-alones (Morningstar is also worthy; never read Knights of Dark Renown but hear good things). The Rigante series is pretty good too. Winter Warriors is a rather underrated Drenai book.

Just finished Gemmell's HERO IN THE SHADOWS. I actually went into these books expecting them to be mediocre (i don't know where I got that idea) so maybe that accounts for it, but I'm enjoying myself to the extreme! I'm hesitant to start another right away, with the Waylander arc being done.

Back to Dresden, I think.

BLOOD RITES

This series gets better and better. I loved the whole situation with the white vamps, and Thomas, and Kincain. So much going on. [Thumbs up] I approve of this series! [/Thumbs Up]

Just finished my 9th and 10th book, DEAD BEAT and PROVEN GUILTY. Heading into WHITE NIGHT next. I need to buy the one after that, I believe.

You should pick up the short story collection Side Jobs and read them in between the novels as indicated. :)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
