No, seriously, if you haven't read Changes yet, you don't want to read this.
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
―Gene Wolfe, The Citadel of the Autarch

Anyway, it occurred to me that Changes could form the basis of a pretty good country-western song. After all, Harry loses his girlfriend, his house, his car, his job...

Them's some dark blues.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

his daughter... oh, and his SOUL. so to speak, with the whole 'ok Mab take me i'm yours thing'.
Plus his pride seeings how all of Fae got to watch the festivities.
AND he was JUST about to get it on with Murphy when the bullet hits. Dude couldn't even get in some victory sex.
Serious country blues there.

Just finished this. I even knew he was going to die cause I got spoiled a few months ago, but then as I read I thought it might be when he was in the church and they revived him, accepted him as winter knight. That is when I thought he died but then come back to life. I was shocked still and also disappointed that he died at the end. I don't know if i'm going to like the last book, if he is a ghost and can't use magic. I hope he comes back to kick ass, but i'm disappointed or "feel" disappointed with the outcome.

This book and Ghost story really do need to be read together.
You should be ok with everything after you read Ghost Story. I know I was.
