Way to get in the gym. I had to take the last two weeks off due to work, vacation with the SO and family commitments. I put on something like five lbs too.

My resolution for the next 4 months is to get back down to 175 walking weight from current weight of 195. Bread is going to be a big item to address diet wise.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

This is exactly me as well. Except it was more like 10 lbs and I need to get from 265 to 245.

Went for a mile jog today, then did boring ole awesome pushups and pull ups.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I have started doing sit-ups, squats and press-ups as my attempt to get back into things after a very fallow period due to injury, and a new job screwing my timetable (and having me stuck at a desk for hours on end). I'd like to do some running again, but firstly my ankle is in pieces at the moment, which makes any jogging painful. And secondly, when i get home from work, I have to take the dog for a walk of at least an hour across uneven fields, which leaves me in no humour to do any kind of running either.

So having stopped basically any sort of activity, I have ballooned in weight to a whopping 98kgs, and I'm only 5ft 7inches tall (approx 170cm). Now I've always been quite stocky in build, even when playing sport at a high level, but I've developed a fairly hefty belly in the last 6 months, so something has to be done. And for the record I am 40, so I can't just go nuts with the exercise side of things like i used to.

The aerobic/cardio side of things will have to be seriously addressed, and with a bit of luck there might be a gym for me to use at work in about 2 weeks time (which would be perfect). The diet is also under serious review.

So my aim is to try and get down to 85kgs/~185llbs over the next few months. It's probably an overly ambitious goal in the short term, but I'm gonna try and aim for dropping approx 0.5-1kg a week for the next 3-4 months. Wish me luck.

I am currently wasting time before I take a pup out for a walk.

What about making the walks but of calisthenics? You can do some burpees during fetch runs or go up and down the hills, sidestep things like a ladder run and so on.

I did this with a German Shepherd for a while and we loved it, even if he got a claw into my jeans pocket during a tag session and tore my pants half off in the dead of winter.

That's the first time anyone's complimented them - they're about ten years old and torn to shreds!

*second video is sideways but Youtube should be sorting that out. And I was looking around a lot because a chap I refer to as 'Twerky' (because his warm up routine is absolutely hilarious, consisting of swinging wildly and full on twerking) was bouncing around not far away doing his atypical awfully-performed bits and bobs (I think he may have crossfits).

No knee wobble or weird back shapes.

Those are all solid deadlifts. You've built a great blend of form and "WEIGHT GOES UP!".

Thanks! I've never really looked at form much, but it's nice to hear that I'm doing them right.

Feeling them today and all (two days on).

probs getting up towards max then. but form still looked good, so could probably eke out a 230, maybe a 235 if you're feeling good that day.

I'm going for 230 tomorrow - I'll video and put them up, provided I manage (if I fail the 230, you'll get the non-failed which will still be a new max).

Being that I seem to be creeping closer toward 250kg every week, the overall goal is now 300kg by the end of the year. Unrealistic? A little. But it's something to aim for, and a motivation to keep.

I do have a little assistance from Richard as well. Superdrive plus Duncan Hills Coffee gives me nutty focus.

So I may have somewhat smashed the 230kg target today. I'm pretty certain I'm now at my maximum lift, which just so happens to be 2.5x my bodyweight...

And then the biggun. To put this one into terms you Murrknz will understand: It's 237.5kg, being 532lbs, being 37.3 stone.

Actually it's 523 lbs - I'm assuming Maark made a typo. Good bit of lifting though, GJ.

Yup. Typo, my bad there. Think I'll have a rest from maxes for a while now though.
