I'm not quite sure what you mean. To double check, the two possibilities we were discussing are Nxe7+ and Nxf6+. Black has a knight on e7 and a pawn on f6. In either case, the move is a double check, so the king must move. In the case of Nxf6+, this leaves us free to play Nxe8 the following move.

Unless I'm completely missing something.

I'd think we have to do something like bc3

How are we in check? And How does a protected queen next to his King somehow mean it isn't checkmate?

So, I fancy taking on the collective in the next game :-D CF, can you mail me the graphics you've been using? I'm happy to update the game board using GIMP. I guess we should continue using this thread so people can mark it, but we can update it to say Round 3.
