It makes Bg3 necessary. that's a bit slow.
plus, if we fiancetto the bishop, with black bishop on b7, an excahnge is likely. and once we lose the bishop, the kingside becomes weak.
Queen e2-c4

@CF: Fianchetto is the name for the manoeuvre where you push the b or g pawn forward one space and move the bishop in behind it.
Nobody rush in and play d6+. It looks good at first glance, but ...Ne5+ screws everything up.

OK, I'm going to play Be2. Allows us to castle (which we should do sooner rather than later), and prevents any sneaky discovered checks.

I'm guessing you mean knight -> d5 screws everything up.
I'm thinking our best move is Bishop -> e2 or e3.

I'm thinking knight D5 -> E7 which would be SUPERCHECK. muahahahhahaha!
Of course I just woke up so that might not be the best move.

Well, it's either e7 or f6 - the former gets us a free knight, the later gets us a rook and a pawn for a knight. I think I'd prefer to leave the knight on e7 where it is, since removing it clears the e-file for the rook. So my recommendation would be to take on f6 and then subsequently on e8.

The other nice thing about taking on f6 is that it opens up the long diagonal - later we can plop our black-squared bishop on c3 with great effect. So yeah, I think that's better. Not sure I'm allowed to make the move though since I made the one before last.

You made a move 2 moves ago, so you can move now.
But you also realize that the knight is not on E7, its on D5.
