So about two years ago I was gifted the first three Wayfarer Redemption books by Sara Douglass. For the life of me I can't get interested in these books. There's just too much great stuff that you guys have pointed out to me. Now, what I'm wondering is this: would these be appropriate to regift to a teen girl just starting to show interest in fantasy? Yes, I know that it's hard to judge what a person will like without knowing a little bit about their tastes but she doesn't even really know what she likes yet. So, should I wrap em up and send them to someone new or find a donation bin at a goodwill?

I'd say Douglas is just right for a teenage girl to try.

You don't dump middle of the road books on someone just testing out the fantasy genre.

How about pratchett or glen cook or throw her some Jim Butcher.

Besides, regifting is wrong.

That's the thing. I don't know that they're actually middle of the road books. I didn't read them cause they didn't really catch my eye. And I'd rather regift something than just have it sitting around collecting dust. I am helping lean her towards better stuff as well. I've given her the Hitchhiker's Guide, the Warded Man, and have some Carol Berg set aside for her birthday. This is why I asked you guys.

Warded man might be a bit much for a teenage girl.

I would throw some Pratchett or Butcher her way.

Middle of the Road might be nice... It was years ago but even before I read Malazan I dont remember being impressed.

Wayfarer books are awful. Don't ever let them see the light of day again. Keep them in the toilet for when you run out of loo roll.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Thanks for the input guys. They have officially found they're way into the goodwill pile. Maybe someday someone will take them home and love them. Just not today, and not me.

Are those the books with the covers by Royo?
“The others followed, and found themselves in a small, stuffy basement, which would have been damp, smelly, close, and dark, were it not, in fact, well-lit, which prevented it from being dark.”
