Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Depends, there are plenty of places on the net where you can find names and the meanings associated with them.
I personally have always wondered if the development of a child can be influenced by making them a namesake of somebody (literary or historical) who has qualities you would want the child to have, and reading about these people during their upbringing....not constantly, but occasionally.... Just a curiosity of mine.
As an example, if you theoretically named your child Anomander (this is just an example) and you read the malazan novels to him (assuming a boy, I know) then would he grow up to take his duties seriously, be compassionate and protecting of others, constantly seeking to give purpose to others, yet never fearing to face what needs to be done no matter the toll on himself?
Congrats By the way!

You dream that with memories will come knowledge, and from knowledge, understanding. But for every answer you find, a thousand questions arise.

Depends on where in the world you are in my opinion. I've always been partial to Russian (Russian-esq) names like Sergei and Sasha/Natasha/Tasha. I also advise that you figure out a name that has a lot of flexibility e.g. Damon Jesse which can allow the kid to be called whatever he/she likes when he grows up, like Damon, Jesse, or DJ.

The 'nickname' DJ just reminds me of Norman Cook, or that little runt from Rosanne.

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

A mate just had a baby boy, named him Harrison. Kid's got a lot to live up to.

This will be a hard question for the wife and I if we ever have a boy. There are actually quite a few Japanese names for girls that work in English as well (such as Maria, Erika, Mei(May), etc.) but there really aren't any boys names that work for both, except for Ken, which neither of us like.
If a boy, name him Ramses. That's my only suggestion.

Daisuke is an awesome name - just saying.....
I really like the name Rome which works since I'm planning on naming my first born son Romero (it has levels of awesomeness).
Most of the boy names I like are pretty standard English names - Ainsley, Aubrey, William, Theodore.
Also, the Romans knew their thing - Tiberius, Gaius, Remus.
For girls I like Kanokgan, Molly, Eirys, Matilda, Greta, Liordan, Tannith, Torrin.
Of course, you can never go wrong with Kelly

Being Irish, I'm a big fan of traditional Irish names. Of course it means the kid in question will forever be spelling their name out to people.
Girls:
Aoife (EE-fah)
Saoirse (SEER-sha)
Máire (like Moira, but softer on the initial vowel)
Nuala (NOO-la)
Eithne (Enya)
Siobhán (shiv-AWN)
Sineád (shin-ADE)
Fionnuala (fin-NOO-la)
Boys:
Diarmuid (DEER-mid)
Connor
Ciarán
Pádraig
Declan
Oisín (USH-een)
Finbar
Fiachra
