If there is one thing I think is really wonderful about the Malazan books is how deep and rich the cultures are. Lostra Yil has the Pardu tribal tattoos that seem to accentuate her beauty, and I'm wondering what they might look like, colors, patterns, etc. I tend to think they might reflect something of Louis Royo's work, but if there's an artist that might have a cool idea, please pass it along! Who knows... I'm sorta thinking about getting it done myself! Now, just to find a way to learn Shadow Dancing....
Any ideas can be emailed to Durga2.0@live.com!
Thanks!

Ideas might also be left in the thread, since we'd all probably like to hear them. ;)

This is true. I've looked into south pacific island tribal art, but since Pardu is Seven Cities, and that's more along the lines of desert dwellers, I've had to throw that idea out. I'm thinking about grey as opposed to black, long lines thickening and thinning depending on where it runs like the thigh and calf. Swirls spinning off, but who knows? If there are some inspired tattoo artists out there this would be prime fodder for ideas into new or unusual tribal patterns! I might make some doodles myself just for grins and giggles.

I think there's a Lostara Yil drawing in the art section that was pretty good. If you want a face tattoo at least.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

yumm.... but the tats aren't too much. Thanks so much for the link though! Thats a great starting point! I won't be getting anything facial or neck done unless its the very back of the neck, along the spine going into my hairline. I'll have it trace down my back, then to my outer thighs. Just a little on the shoulders and only a very little bit on the upper arms. This way it stays under my clothing when I'm working. My new career will be mainly outdoors but I've never thought of facial or neck marking too professional looking. I can't take someone seriously with what looks to be 'hood markins' on the sides or front of their necks. The back of the neck though, something subtle would be rather nice!
