people are accusing him of being a warlord. and thus being unfamiliar with how the Middle Kingdom players' roles would be structured.

Ah, that makes a lot more sense. Hmm a possibility of being a barbarian then, interesting, it is possibly the most concrete (thought calling this concrete is a bit of a stretch) evidence we seem to have so far of a possible warlord.

All the info the various roles get at the beginning are in the OP. Even if I was in the warlord faction, why would I get that info wrong? It's not like I wouldn't know what officials got because I didn't get the same info, because it's clearly stated in the OP. I have nothing to gain, and, obviously, a lot to lose by having posted that. It was an idiotic mistake.

As for PS's post, something's gone down. I like these little twists mid-day! :p

Interesting, so the Yan have a fleet, and are on the move? The other factions are in some kind of retreat?

I feel so lost.

It was a genuine mistake, which I didn't explain well enough in the edit. I had a brain melt and for some reason was of the belief that officials in the factions knew the PM, not the emperor (that is, I'd got it into my head that I'd been told my PM by Path-Shaper, rather than my emperor). I realised my error as soon as I posted it.

I know a great deal might be made of this, but this is along the same lines (ironically) as Emurlahn's comma-gate.

You know ... I'm don't think I buy that. Especially since the OP repeatedly says that everyone knows who their Emperor is.

Quote

Prime Minister
Each middle kingdom also has a Prime Minister. Prime Ministers can use the standard heal, guard and find night actions, as well as special abilities that can assist other players in their dynasty and provide their Emperor with extra information.

Civil Official
Civil Officials can use the standard guard and find night actions. They know the alt and Location of their Emperor. During the day, if they are in the same Location as their Emperor, they can change into Military Officers.

Military Officer
Military Officers can use the standard heal and kill night actions. They know the alt and Location of their Emperor. During the day, if they are in the same Location as their Emperor, they can change into Civil Officials.

You'd really have to go out of your way to overlook that if you're in one of the Kingdoms ... or you just didn't know to start with, and suddenly realized you'd given away your ignorance. It took you six minutes to edit that post after all.

You don't buy it especially as it's written repeatedly in the OP? But isn't that exactly a reason why I wouldn't get it wrong even if I was in a warlord faction? Because it's written everywhere? And if I didn't know to start with, as you also say, you don't think I would have checked before posting something?

The only reason I would get it wrong is for the reason I stated - because I had a brain fart and thought that the person I was privy to was the PM instead of the emperor. I put in the edit after I had refreshed the screen to see if anything else had been posted, happened to read over my post, and as I did so it clicked that I was being idiotic.

Anyway, it's not like I needed to OP to know this - do you Galain? Because that's what you seem to be suggesting, that you know these officials know their emperor only because it's written in the OP.

In fact, the more I look at your post Galain, the more I'm convinced that if it wasn't written in the OP you wouldn't know about it. I would expect a post like "what? You seriously couldn't remember the info you were given in your role description from PS", rather than, "what? You can't read the OP?".

That is suspicious to me.

... Seriously? Because that's an incredibly obvious attempt to turn an argument back on a person without foundation.

There is no credible way that anyone could not realize, after five days of play, what information they'd been given. Your fumbled post has the look of someone who realized he'd screwed up, and fixed it in not timely enough a fashion.

And I'm not allowed to turn an argument back on you because....?

You're right, it's hardly credible, which is why I'm kicking myself. My only excuse is that I only read my role description once on the first day and paid no more attention to it since. Then something in the wording of Osseric's post made my mind twist illogically (trying too hard to grasp something suspicious perhaps?) and I suddenly started thinking that I and all officials knew the identity of the Prime Minister but not the Emperor. Upon reread, my brain untwisted and I slapped myself.

But seriously, what about my argument is less reasonable than yours. If I had been in your position, the OP would not have been the first evidence I trotted out. Unless I had no other evidence, as I suspect now that you do not.

Because it makes no sense.

My argument against you makes specific sense given specific posts you've made that demonstrate your ignorance. You're argument against me is basically "No u!"

This is great stuff! :p Well, for me anyway, maybe not so much for the guys on the rack. I am totally undecided about which way to go though. They all look good to me at the moment - Osseric, Meanas, even Atrahal and Galain.

The Osseric case appears to be built on long-term play style and....perhaps a find by Silanah?

The Meanas case is built on one, pretty fucking suspicious, post.

Atrahal is just dozying along.

And Galain...well, I dunno. But Galain has actually quirked my eyebrows more than once before on an instinctive level, so this just adds to it.

As I said, they all look good targets. I just want to be careful of not lynching my own.

Erm, whut? My argument against you is equally made against a specific post of yours dude.

If I wanted to argue childishly with you, as you're suggesting, I would point out that you should be writing "your" and not "you're." :p

It's still basically "No u!"

I haven't demonstrated ignorance of Kingdom-faction knowledge, you have, in the damned game.

It wasn't ignorance, it was forgetfulness. So yes, I demonstrated a genuine mistake in the damn game.

You, on the other hand, have demonstrated where you get your information from - the OP - which in my mind means you're not a PM, civil or military official. So you're either an emperor, or more likely, a warlord faction member.

wait, what? we're suppposed to read the OP?

jokes aside, people have been lynched for worse misdemeanors.

another thing I don't think has been brought up yet: the night scene. it seems to me that Lu is caught between a rock and a hard place. and the hard place (the Ma rebels), are getting to them.

the last night post basically said "Lu fund themselves invaded by Yan and the Barbs. they made a choice. when the yan advanced, they found themselves facing a strong defence and were beaten back.

oh, and then Lu general died."

there's no mention of teh barbs, but it seems logical that to suppose that Lu bared their barb flank to repel Yan. and the barbs broke through.

Actually, no, I haven't, but I'm obviously not about to quote my PM to prove it. Just that it told me my Emperor's character name and alt.

That's interesting, because mine also told me the location of my emperor. Yours didn't? Yeah, fake PMs tend to leave stuff out don't they.

Meanas, you are sounding very desperate and defensive ever since you've been put on the spot. Coupled with the Osserc potential link (which I am starting to have doubts about), I think I'll have to

Vote Meanas

for the time being. I won't be able to change my vote for at least a couple hours after this post, but I am pretty sure we still have several hours left in the day. I'll check back in once I get home.
