Mafia 74 GAP into ruin

well looking at the death scene of merrid it seems likely the trumpet are specifically set up to strike against the cult as he came across as a recruitment blocker or a deprogrammer. It would b nice to have an order of actions so we can see if veng was cult leader whether dying stopped last nights recruitment. I doubt tapper would let us in on the info though.

Given that PS is giving role names and a bit of information in the CF, I think he expects us to slowly figure this sort of stuff out through the game. It seems very unlikely that Ruse was the leader, since he CF'd as someone who was an Amnion agent, not someone who was an Amnion.

catching up!!
True, but I can't help but feel like we're being herded. Something about Eloth and Fener's arguing for all these pages ... and then they both wind up taking the same action.
I feel like this too. Fener was so vehement and then changed their mind anyway.
Fener changed his vote in post #146, for no hard reason ... Eloth changed his in #157, giving the "we have to lynch everyday" argument, which I've already explained why I don't like for Day 1 in this case.
I voted for him to show that he is not my leader in any way....everybody felt i was protecting him when i wasnt.
Also he was the only viable lynch and i was leaving soon.

@Kalse: To wait for someone to get recruited tonight doesn't seem to help the issue, imho. Cult gains one member more and we haven't even tried to stop them if we don't lynch.

Hood's Path is dead. He was twelve and Davis Hyland of the Trumpet.
elsewhere, a smuggler was apprehended and dealt harshly with. He turned out to be chockful of Amnion gene poison.
Ruse is dead. He was Vengeance and captain Chatelaine,an Amnion

I see what you mean, usually with a cult though (especially with merrids scene) you have a patsy to begin with as well as a recruiter. ie a player whose name is given to new recruits as the next in line to protect the identity of the real leader in case of recruitment by another faction. Given the wiki above its unlikely ruse was recruited and killed on the same night and managed to be a character who in the novels worked for the amnion.

This is pretty much Ruse's only post of substance:
That might be too subtle but it seems like he's trying to deflect attention away from the lynch train... We know now that he was right about Merrid but he could have been using that to keep attention off Fener (which falls in with his suggestion about Eloth/Alkend).

Well that was fun reading. Nothing like a heated discussion on the differences of day one lynches to get a lynch. I found the discussion more interesting then the train. It seemed that the perceived connection between fener and merrid was pretty minimal. I actually found eloths and Alkends combine drive to have more in common.
I guess we are waiting on the nights resolution. Oh well.

Hi guys, sorry for the major absence yesterday, it's been a busy start of the week but I shouldn't be so bogged down for the rest of the week.
So, the good news: "captain Chatelain", according to wikipedia, is Sorus Chatelain, captain of a whole ship and a major antagonist in the last few books, so looks like that was a major Amnion role, not just the night 1 recruit getting killed the same night they get recruited.
The bad news is that Chatelain was a human working for the Amnion and doesn't seem to have anything to do with converting humans to Amnions, so Vengeance there probably wasn't the recruiting role.
Sorry for the fear-mongering

i thought the arguement pettered out because fener got sick of ranting

I would have to agree.
Doubt he was the leader/recruiter.
Normally the cult starts with 2 members...with one being a back up leader/recruiter that fills in when the other dies.
Could be he was the second in line.

Although..."captain".
That seems like a leader of some sort. Captain of teh amnion ship?
But does that make her an amnion propper?
I didnt read much of the OP and i dont really want to spoil the books as im going to read them.
anybody with any info about how high up this captain is?

Given it's a space ship I would say at least above the troposphere. Seriously though, I haven't read the books either but I think Eloth has it on the head. It's more than likely Ruse was the Amnion 'face' role, or at least a person who started as a recruit.

All is not well on the Trumpet as it speeds out of Amnion Space. The crew members, struck paranoid by fear of Amnion experiments begin searching for tell tell signs of Amnion Subversion. One crew member, Vector, working devoutly to find a cure for the Amnion genetic conversion weaponry, spends far to much time on his own. Just as he makes a huge break through, creating a Pill that blocks the Amnion conversion the rest of the crew turn upon the lone scientist, tearing him apart limb from limb. The secret genetic blocker is lost forever.
Merrid was lynched. he was Vector Shaheed and MTS, on the Trumpet

Hp looked like he may have had a vig because of the gun in his hand.
With Ruse, it is great that he is dead but he looks to have been a recruited cult pre game, meaning he wasn't the recruiter that we are hunting for.
I don't have much time now but will be back on in a couple of hours

ok...so the "gene poinson" is something that makes you an amnion?
Are all amnions infected with this stuff?
What I mean is, what would we expect it to say for an original omnian?
Would they also be "chock full" of the stuff? Or are they different somehow?

my guess is that the gene poison is what makes a human amnion, not all amnions are humans though. There will be an amnion somewhere who converts humans to amnions

amnions aint humans
And human recruits are infected with their gene..mutating them into one.

Ok, so you were waiting around for the first thing that looked like a lynch and voted for it, then lurked while other people were taking the focus onto themselves? If this was a normal game you would pretty much have admitted to being scum - I know this a faction game, but seriously?
vote Tiamatha
I was suspicious of your vote yesterday as you seemed a little too willing to just go with whatever was available. Someone else noticed the same thing and called you on it and your response just screams scum to me.

considering that neither of you really broke off that spat over first day lynch politicking, i consider observing (not lurking) a wise option. and i will say that if i was stupid enough to be a chronic lurker, i wouldn't have popped up now to start throwing out ideas when finally we had some solid intel from the results of day and night
so, barghy, you are voting based on the simpler field of a MP game, scummy is as scummy does? and as to other people noticing my silence, the only person who seemed to be stuck in a town vs scum paradigm was you considering you were the only one to mention my name yesterday. this is a faction game, as you seem to realize enough to say but not do.

Someone hit a cultist. Or is that symp cultist? Hmm. I've got to re-read with the new info, but I need food. Will try and be back tonight, will be on early tomorrow morning if I dont make it.
D'riss is really really really pinging my radar. he keeps giving excuses for disappearing, which in an of themselves are not bad, but then he never follows up with any solid speculations or content. i'd peg him for being a capt, but considering that all leaders are in play still, i would be nervous aobut the 1 in 4 chance of hitting the trumpets leader (does anyone think that eliminating all trumpets is a game win condition?)
on that note, i also think we need to start getting a discussion going trying to tease out both winnning conditions for each faction and their following MOs. as I mentioned earlier, and as you all know, this is faction game not town/scum so we need to think a little with a more complexity
but, we have four leaders and maybe seconds right? and there is a recruiter and at least two night killers. we haven't even talked about UMPC and UMC. what special rolls would they have? and they are the biggest human factions right? rereading the OP i would speculate that UMC's "dragon" is also an ultimate enemy and even though we need to get rid of the cult first because of its potential to grow while the rest of us diminish, i don't think we should let that second story line slide of our radar

hmmm... based on this post its fair to assume you arent UMPC or UMC... at least that is what you are putting out.
And ofcourse no one will claim to be cult...
So you are trying to pretty much come out as a trumpet crew member then?
interesting
