Then you'll be really pissed when he kills Rory in the upcoming AGOT-Dr Who crossover ep.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I want Mickey to kill Rory in that crossover, prompted by a smug Tyrion Lannister who was revealed as the REAL River Song....and then Mickey tells Rory to stop being a little bitch and start whomping some ass.

My one and only issue with AFFC is that ending
Spoiler
storyline the way it did was just weak and poor storytelling.

Cliffhangers like that work with monthly comics and televisions shows where you are going to see what happens next within a week, a year if it's a season finale.

In books with years and years between novels, it borders on absurd (see also WoT - Matt under wall).

Otherwise, I quite liked it.

I just hope Tyrion kidnapped isn't pages and pages of sideplot with the only purpose to delay his arrival at Dany's.

Quoting myself here.

After watching the HBO show, I can't stop thinking that kidnapping Tyrion gets kind of old. So, he was kidnapped by Catelyn first, then he was 'kidnapped'/'ransomed' by the hill tribes (well kind of). Then he ends up in the dungeons in Kings Landing (ok, so not technically kidnapped) and now he gets kidnapped again? Can't he stay out of trouble for once? You would think he should have learned by now.

Yeah, but he came out ahead out of every kidnapping.
First he recruited Bronn, then he acquired those hill tribes, then he got bloody revenge on his old man, and now he'll probably come to own the entire slave trade and convert it into the world's first employment office, recruit a harem of secretaries consisting of a gazillion exotic beauties who thank him for freeing them by doing unspeakably dirty things with him, a jug of wine and a bar of chocolate (hmmm, chocolate), and gets named Daenerys' Hand of the King (because of course, that is what he is destined to be).

You forget that ADWD was nearly finished when AFFC was released.

But Brienne wouldn't have been in that book. Even if ADWD had been published right away we would have still waited s few years.

Irrelevent. the point is that it's a weak way to end a storyline.

Agree. Novels should have their climax resolved. SE does it, Sanderson, Jordan, Rowling, Bakker, etc etc. do it. Even GRRM does it most of the time. The Brienne cliffhanger is stupid. So was the Jamie cliffhanger in the second book. The endings of the first and third book were much more satisfying conclusions.

But his portability just lends itself to kidnapping! I mean, all you need is a large sack.
