I've noticed that Yahoo have opened up their fantasy game for registrations again - how long are we going to wait before getting it set up? And who wants to be a commissioner this year?

Indeed - and how long can we wait on the draft, what with not knowing anything about free-agency yet?

I'd be in. If we have a start.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I'm down for it, I can look into the rules to see what the situation is with the draft if you guys wanted. Let me know if you wanted me too.

I looked at the Yahoo draft information and the commissioners corner, most people have already started a league but we still have some time to do the actual draft. Alot of people are already drafting or doing mock drafts but I don't think we need to rush into it that quickly. I know the mediation period ends in a few days so we should have an answer one way or another on what's going to happen. We probably want to see where the free agents are going to land before doing the draft, or the majority of them anyways, but the league does need to be set up.

If you guys want me to do the commissioner duties again I can. I think maybe we should look at a live draft this year though. If we could do it on a Saturday evening we could probably work it out for all time zones and it would be over in an hour or two. Either way if you guys want me to start the league up let me know, I'll set it up and give you guys the sign up information.

Edit: There's an option that let's me renew our league from last year with the same settings we had, if you guys are okay with that and want to do so, you can let me know.

This year though, I think we should have the finals a week earlier - 5 or 6 of my team were barely on the field in the final week and I got hammered.

Personally I would prefer a non-live draft, since timezones are going to be a bit hard to get round. Saturday afternoon for some of us is early Sunday morning for others...

I'd be happy to defend my title this year.-_-

As long as i can somehow manage to get Arian Foster and Chris Johnson again.

Doubtful.

If we can get a live draft that would be awesome, but its been ubertroublesome in the past.

Well I've been involved in other live drafts and you get about two minutes to make your pick when your turn comes up, that would allow it to go fairly quickly. If we did it on a weekend we could be done before it got too late for people in other time zones.

Personally I'm not interested in another protracted month-long draft where we wait upwards of 12-24 hours between picks. It gets very aggravating, and people have a hard time keeping track of who has been picked. If we started at around noon EST no one in the UK would be up too late ( I don't believe we have any Aussies or such who play).

Also, the playoff format suited me fine last year. And I think the league should again be limited to 10, 12 at most, participants. It just makes things easier.

Anyway, that's my two cents

Okay well I was setting up another league I'm commissioner of so I just went in and renewed our league. League name is Malaz All Stars, password is MALAZAN (note the all caps). It allowed me to send invites to people who were involved last year, so I sent invites to those who have expressed interest in this thread. Cyphon I know you weren't involved last year so I couldn't send you an invite, but please feel free to sign up. Just go to the custom leagues on Yahoo and look the league up by name, enter the password to join. The rules for now are the same as last year, but if we want to make changes nothing is set in stone.

I think that we should hold a off non-live draft. Anything otherwise is just not fair to the people who live in different time zones. Up to early or to late. I am not holding out hope for there to be a season this year. Even if there is most of training camp is going to be shot so it will probably won't be a top notch season.

I would be in.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.
