Who would win in a verbal fracas?

Been meaning to make this thread for a while. These two characters remind me of one another, though I'm not sure if that's intentional, was wondering what would happen if they met up.

So Mallick Rel as an evil twin of Kruppe. Any thoughts?

Kruppe would win simply by virtue of not giving Rel a chance to open his mouth. And if he by some chance managed to get a word in, Kruppe would simply interrupt him again.
It was ever thus.

Kruppe would win, through overwhelming verbosity and cleverness. As well, because of his trusty steed.
Laseen did nothing wrong.

I don't think they compare. Rel is not a Kruppe and Kruppe is not a Rel.

Rel is not nearly as verbose. He does not come of as mysterious or brilliant either. Lets be honest here Kruppe is in a league of his own, be it intelligence, scheming or sheer power.

Rel is how ever ruthless and cunning. He reminds me more of a fledgling Shadowthrone or a cruel Tehol Beddict. Rel busies himself with power and rule. It's what he specialises in.

I would also like to point out that Rel is no more evil than Tehol. How many people died during the riots and economic collapse of Lether do you think?

Kruppe the magnificent would devour Rel in a verbal challenge. This should be obvious as Kruppe was able to defeat Pust who was rightly the only one who stood a chance against the verbosity that is Kruppe.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Well I did not say they were the same, I said they reminded me of each other. It could be that they are the polar opposites of each other. Like I said, evil twin vs good twin. One is verbose, the other more calculated in speech; one works for the good of his society, the other works for the good of himself as the cornerstone of everything he does. or, it could be they remind me of each other because they're both fat.

And I must disagree that Tehol is the same or as evil as Rel. Tehol seems again much more selfless and interested in justice (even at a great cost, as you mention, but a cost to put things right) whereas again, Rel is only interested in furthering his own ambition.

Funny you should ask: Yea actually, I read all of the ICE books before I even started on the Book of the Fallen. I happened on this whole malazan series by chance and I went into ICE's books blind. Gives you an itneresting perspective when ou start on the Erikson books. Regarding what you say -
