A few wrap-ups.

Centaur: Not very much happened in the last episode. It was like it purposefully went away from the socio-political commentary and back to a moe SOL show. Not necessarily a bad thing to have a show with no tangible storyline, I suppose.

KHAM: By contrast, a very action heavy episode, and one with a few possible sequel hooks. Unlikely to happen but we'll see. It was fun, and managed to remain fun throughout, despite the two worn premises it champions.

ITS: Degenerated into a by-the-numbers fantasy harem at the end which kind of sucks because the early episodes were much more enjoyable.

NG!!: Tagged as we have active watchers.

New season is upon us.

Based on some general hype, I watched episode 1 of Black Clover. Unless there's a drastic change in the MC, I'll probably drop it after just this one episode. All he does is screech, and it's literally screeching. ALL. THE. TIME. The show tries to pan this off as 'hey, he's got spunk!' but it gets incredibly annoying when his speech pattern is something like "I will speak a woooOOOOOOoord! I am angryyYYYYYYYyyyy! I can't case a speeeEEEEEEEEEEeeell!". Literally every single time he speaks.

And it's a shame because the actual premise of the show is interesting. Alas.

Saw ep1

Whats the hype about this? Seems like another romance anime with magic thrown in.

There's a prequel of 3 OVA episodes that the rest of us have seen that we thought were really impressive, so we're expecting great things from the main series, and also it's gorgeous, neato, the music was amazing, etc.

Here's what's on my radar so far:

Ancient Magus Bride - Aforementioned

Food Wars S3 - Caught the first episode. Starts off a bit weird as it seems there were two OVAs after season 2 and they weren't just side filler... but season 3 can't assume everyone saw them, so the first scene is a quick recap of some of the OVAs. But then the show gets going properly and I was really into it. No more tournament or stagiaire arc, so it's finally the big cast back at school playing off of each other and a new challenge coming along. Soundtrack was really good (just like previous seasons), some interesting new characters, a different sort of new challenge... lots of good things so far!

Kekkai Sensen Beyond (S2) - I wasn't expecting to be interested in another season of this, but watched the first episode on a whim and was actually pretty entertained. I barely remember the plot of the last season, but it doesn't seem like that will matter much, it's just more short adventures of the Libra bunch in alien New York. Good soundtrack once again - seemed to be more hip-hop and less jazz this time.

Urahara - Watched the premiere. Trippy and bizarre, but didn't really make much sense, either, and I didn't find any of the characters very likeable. Think I'll drop this.

Konohana Kitan - Cute slice of life fox-girl show. Reminds me a lot of Urara Meirochou, but not as good so far.

Umaru-chan S2 - Skipped through bits of episode 1, but it looks the exact same as season 1, so I don't think I'll give it any more of a try.

Just Because! - Heard about this but haven't seen it yet. Supposed to be some sort of ensemble cast adult romance-drama, I think.

Animegataris - Meta-comedy sailor moon anime? Weird. Waiting to see where this one goes.

ClassicaLoid S2 - Haven't caught the new episode of this yet, but I'm sure I'll watch it at some point. Season 1 wasn't great, but I enjoyed it enough to keep going.

Kino's Journey - This is a remake of an acclaimed 2003 series. Haven't watched any yet, but definitely planning to check this out.

Children of the Whales - I remember seeing the preview of this a while back, so I plan to give it a shot, too.

Also maybe Code:Realize and Inuyashiki but I don't really know anything about those yet except the names.

Also, double-episode of Dragon Ball Super today. Pretty eventful, though I maybe wish there was a bit more to the events than just some characters being stronger (like a whole new style of fighting or something). Surprisingly great music, especially the OP song redone as a slow, dramatic orchestra piece during the episode.

Kino's journey was great, its very much keeping with the original show. Though this appears this isn't a reboot and more of a continuation as i look forward to new stories.

The original is one of my top 5 so i trust this will not dissapoint.

Oh, interesting. I'm going to hold off on it for now. Let me know if you think it is reasonable to watch the new one by itself, or if I have to watch the original first.

all the stories are stand alone episodes so its not as if you need to watch the previous season to enjoy this one.

Premise is that Kino and his motorcycle Hermes go from country to country. Its a premise that it execute well given the wide variety of countries it explores. One of my favourite episodes involves kino encountering 3 different railroad workers who are working on a railroad. I showed it to my philosophy club and it spun into like a 2hour discussion on various topics.

ID-0 on Netflix any good?

https://myanimelist....nime/33797/ID-0

According to MAL not that good.

If you're a huge mecha fan, maybe, but if you're a huge mecha fan you're likely better catching up on 20 years worth of gundam shows.

IDK about netflix USA but netflix canada leaves much to be desired, hence my getting a crunchyroll memebership.

Also, highly reccomend castlevania anime on netflix. Really good job they did there.

Also since you tend to like action oriented stuff
http://animeonnetfli...ows-on-netflix/

Top 5 on that list in descending order
Guren Lagann
Kill la Kill
One punch man
Fate Zero
Bleach (up until SS arc)

Cowboy Bebop is awesome. I can't believe I never even heard of it before.

Up to ep22, and I've started watching the movie on bluray which looks amazing.

Seriously, great blend of genres, music, dark and comedy - it just ticks all the boxes. So good, I think I'll end up buying the series.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Latest Altair episode was really good. Massive economical machinations, our protagonist is really coming into his own.

Latest Dragon Ball (epi 111) was pretty good. Of course any episode with a lot of Hit is bound to be great!

Haven't seen any other new episodes except Magus Bride - another fine episode, though not a ton happened. That derpy lizard thing is soooo cute, I want one.

About 8 episodes into FMA: Brotherhood. Really like it so far.
