The one with the talking pig? Mm... no. I think I watched the first few episodes once and didn't like it (though that could be I just don't like it overall, rather than it being a bad adaptation).

AOT S3 is looking like it'll get up to the end of the first overreaching story arcs (i.e. S1 covering up to the Female Titan arc and S2 covering the Rescue Arc). This could be good or bad because if they end where I think they'll end, they're only going to be about five issues behind the manga by S4.

A few others:

Island - took a turn for the weird sci-fi. Potentially makes it more interesting.

Angels of Death continues to be dumb, edgy fun. Also has the best ending song of the season.

Asobi Asobase is genuinely funny. Again has a great ED that blindsided me the first time, but given that it's largely a shitpost...

Cells at Work got suddenly dark this week. Contender for best new series of the season.

some of my friends are into it.

Didnt really catch my interest after ep 1.

So what have i been watching these last few moons?

I decided to give golden kamuy a spin, really enjoyed this one! Felt the relationship between our duo was solid.

I also need to get back into monster, that shit was awesome.

Seasonal stuff:

MHA:still loving it, though this season does feel a bit fluffy in terms of fights.

Tonegawa: LOVING THIS ONE! If only because its a corporate themed anime. I need more of this in my life.

OVerlord: Still enjoying it

AOT: Really liking this new season, not crying about the lack of hype in this show.

SO

Two things. actually three things.

firstly Anime AMVs at 60 fps is a thing and I am in love with AMVs all over again.

I am also blazing through OP compilations trying to pick anime to watch "by the cover".

I struck Gold. TWICE.

Chio's School Road and Grand Blue. RIGHT up there with Asobi Asobase!! I'm hitting Nichijou levels of laughter these past few days.

Maybe I'm just in a good mood, maybe its the weather but this season has really shelled up some gut-busting comedy.

Bravo Summer 2018.

In other news, I am finally onto Haikyuu Season 3. It's the most bizarre thing. I have never watched a single match of Volleyball in my life, now I'm on Youtube REVELLING in top 10 plays of the year. It is a fantastic sport.

No one told me!

I also started watching Sirius the Jaeger. Bread and butter Vamp v Werewolf to the tune of Jim Butchers Dresden files and that series take of the Red Court. Not complete but fascinating regardless. I recommend a watch if you aren't watching anything else.

Oh, really? The synonpses of this sounded so bad/generic I never checked it out. I'll have to give it a try.

I've got Lupin III, Attack on Titan, Banana Fish, My Hero Academia, and occasionally Cells at Work / Free! but not trying to keep up with them. Enjoying all of them, this is a fun season!

I also picked up a new show that's currently airing - watched the first 4 episodes of it this weekend and I loooove it. It's called Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight aka something like Girls' Starlight Revue or some such and it's totally bananas. It follows these nine girls who are students at a private theatre school. There's lots of slice of life of them attending acting/dance/music/etc classes and interpersonal hijinks in their dorms, etc, but then additionally these 9 secretly "audition" in a secret contest run by a telepathic giraffe underneath the school where they have awesome sword fights that are straight up gorgeous looking. I like how the characters all act really melodramatically/campy with their theatre moves, and also how the duels (which did I mention are gorgeous?!) aren't just typical fights but have all this showmanship and theatrics and singing as part of them.

Jaegers still good and worth a watch! The description almost put me off as well but there's an interesting take on the usual story that I found compelling.

I heard of Shoujo☆Kageki Revue. Is this the source of the Giraffe therapist meme? Its on my to watch list, I'll bump it up the order. Probably watch it after I finish my last few episodes of Sakura Quest.

By Grand Blue, do you mean Granblue Fantasy? Aired summer last year if I recall? Decent little fantasy one that.

Volleyball there's also Harukana Receive which is a bit moeblob, and Hanebado for badminton.

Tonegawa... Oh lordy. This is what The Office should have been (aka actually funny).

Six episodes in and I have been dying! Never have I been more grateful for a censorship circle. I don't want to spoil it so don't read anything just get in and start a watch!

Hanebado had an interesting start! Nice recommendation!

Hanebado remains good so far. The characters are well fleshed out and the story entirely focuses on them and the sport with very little faffing and no blatant fanservice.

The artist who did A Cruel Angel's Thesis is doing the JoJo part 5 theme. Hype.

Just finished Season 3 of Haikyuu!!.

IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or is there something magical about watching a tiny dude jump really high?

I'm 1'79cm tall, average height. I played basketball in high school. Jumping is HARD. Dashing in and arcing the body whilst you do it takes alot of effort and core muscle strength. I used to think smaller guys were lucky, less weight to bring up with them but everything works against them. Often there's a problem with the reach, power, stamina or momentum.

That said I have seen short guys get air and dunk. it is magnificent!

Watching Hinata get airtime before a spike is perhaps the most satisfying thing I've seen this month.
(United States of...SMASH! was last month right?)

Now I can catch up on Hanebado.

The first thing that pops up in my mind is the jump in drama as opposed to Haikyuus comedy.

Yeah, Hanebado takes itself very seriously. It's a nice change from the last sports anime I watched (Keijo) which was JoJo but with ass n tiddies. Harukana Receive is sort of a middle ground - very chilled out and laid back, still has drama and character development but it never veers too hard one way or the other.

Picked up a couple more shows:

Fruits of Grisaia
Oneroom
Phantom in the Twilight

Hanebado got interesting this week:

Spoiler
.

AOT is continuing to follow the manga faithfully, not much to add there.

Island has gone full on acid trip nani za fakku weird.

Hataraku Saibou went on a more lighthearted bent this week and frankly after the cancer episode last week, it needed it. It speaks well of the series that it can swerve between zany comedy and deadly seriousness like that (and obviously that episode required deadly seriousness).

Harukana Receive is actually panning out to be heavier on character development than I'd anticipated given that it looks like a fanservice anime.

Is Angels of Death still edgy? Yes. Very edgy. So edgy it could be the main character in a Star Ocean game. But I did realise why I enjoy the ending theme so much - it's Haruka Chisuga who did one of my favourite j-pop albums. Ayyy. Guess she's voicing Ray, then.

So where ami at

I finally started watching Monster again. This time i shall complete it! It's honestly a classic. There's quite a few "filler" episodes where the plot advances marginally, but they also give us these character moments i really dig. It gives the anime a sense of journey not just point a to point b. Also really like the character of Inspector Lunge. Im curious where he will end up. Also curious where his ex fiancee redemption arc will end up.

Overlord: Latest episode was pretty entertaining.
Spoiler

Tonegawa: Not a fan of this ebitani mini arc, though I do appreaciate how it an arc in how to manage idiots.

MHA: I ended up spoiling myself a bit RIP. At this point I think I need to just binge all arcs. Not enjoying the weekly wait

AOT: Still enjoyable. I like how we're getting a bit more backstory with the Origin of everything as well as the Inter Human conflict we've been shown.

AOT manga at the bit past where I assume this arc will end (because to finish the current bit over 4 episodes would really be dragging it out) is some 'holy shit' level stuff. I'd love to talk about it in more depth but it's very spoilerific.

The Ebitani arc of Tonegawa is funny purely because it's about management of idiots. Ebi Roll!

Comedy can work but it has to resonate with me. That said I like the absurdist comedies considerably - stuff like Aho-Girl, My Mental Choices, Poputepipiku, and more recently Asobi Asobase.

AA was deceptive, especially with the introduction sequence, but god damn it has me in stitches every time. And it has easily the best ED this season.

I am way behind on everything. Got caught up on Starlight last night (and it was glorgious), but a couple weeks behind on everything else.

And still haven't started Jaegars. Or Grand Blue.

That's ok, I'm lagging quite a bit myself.

Hataraku no saibou was especially good this week.

Chio and grand blue continue to serve up comedy gold!

I cant decide if I want to get current on AoT or Baki 2018. AoT seems to have taken an interesting turn.

Picked up Frankenstein Family. It's like Monster Musume but entirely wholesome.
