Anyways that does clear up a few things.

in regards to this season. I've watched the first ep of hai to gensou.

The problem i am having with the show is while the initial setting and introduction is great, the rest is... terrible. Specifically the characters. They're all a bunch of teenagers... So you've got ms.bullimia with a giant rack and mr.obnoxious (whose likely overcompensating for the fact hes probably useless) as well as your blank boring main character. In before gratuitous ass shots and this is JUST ep1.

WTF? Why do we have to focus on this group of lamoes... Im wondering if ep2 is worth my time.

ep2 of durara: Things make a bit more sense now... Its only when they start throwing out all these new names i just have issues. Also curious as to who our new trio of conspirators with izaya are.

Also who is that long haired girl. I vaguely recall her being possesed by saika and trying to kill her teacher in durarara 2nd cour

Haruna Niekawa - yeah, in the first season she was The Slasher, attacking people with Saika and taking them over. Anri and her used to be friends, but Haruna is obsessed with Takashi (her former school teacher) and got jealous of Anri after Takashi started being a pedophile to Anri. The two girls fought in season 1 and Anri beat Haruna, after which point we haven't seen her until last cour where Izaya brought her back, and right up until this latest episode Izaya was keeping her in line by promising to tell her where Takashi was hiding. But now Minami has gone and told Haruna.

Not sure whom you mean about the trio of conspirators (but better put it in spoilers if you want to clarify)

ep2 of hai to gensou: Well that was different... I did not expect that, and that was a good thing. Maybe theres more to this show after all. D'rek you should watch the first two eps and tell me what you think of ep2

as for Schwarzesmarken, its ok i guess. Honestly the 3rd LN really needs to be adapted into an anime series, that'd be a great show.


Anyways i might check out dimension w. A while back i decided to rewatch DTB show (jus thte original show)and I really enjoyed it, it surprising how much stuff flies over your head when you're a dumb teenager. Like the entire point of it was contractors had emotions they just had predisposition to rational thinking, in many ways they are no different than say people who suffer from asbergers or other mental handicaps.

Im currently contemplating re-watching paranoia agent for similar reasons. (that and i really need to watch the rest of satoshi kon's work)

Finished up to the end of Volume 7 of the manga for ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM. Which it looks like puts me at around Ep 19 of the 1st season (3 short of the finale), so I think I could easily catch up to you all in the next few days.

Still loving it. Best bit in the most recent volume (when KoroSensei is hang gliding on vacation and disguises himself like Hideaki Anno...I LOLed)

Anyways, this has reminded me to check and see if I'm caught up with the latest released episodes of the Berserk remake. Those have been pretty damn good. I've seen 2 or three of those (2 maybe?), I think I left off basically where the original series ended.

Ya, there was nudity, which was kind of weird, like Grifith bathing from the well, but I think that was just weird by today's standards and not the location of the story. ...and a bunch of Casca scenes being attacked. But I ment they were handled more like GoT, where spouts of blood didn't come out of men's noses, or there weren't 5 minutes of uncontrollable bouncing breasts just from sitting up or changing positions

I was gonna say, "and no one turned into a demon or something because there was a naked chick", but again, the finale... Which in it's defense was more of a coincidence part of the story, and flip-flopped, heh


Basically I think it depends on what the show is. If it's targeted audience / main draw is fan service, then ya you're going to see a bunch of weird ass nudity and super jiggles. If the main draw is a kick ass story, then you may have "tasteful" nude scenes like any Hollywood movie/GoT.

It's hard to think of other examples. The other one that just occurred to me was Street Fighter: the animated movie. There was a brief Chun Li shower scene. Nothing super gratuitous, but something similar you'd see in any Hollywood movie. Again it's focus wasn't fan service.

hmmm, both those examples are pretty old, maybe that's the thing. Maybe it's just how the anime culture has shifted. Then again, there was ninja scroll, which was kind of story driven, but had some weird nudity, and was in that older era...

I'm sure there are more modern examples, of "normal nude scenes" but I'm not on top of my anime game lately.

So i decided to watch an old classic and try out escaflowne.

I think i was able to watch 3 episodes of the dub. I cannot stand the voice of the guy who plays dilandau, i want to punch him in the face and tear out my ears its so painful. Sub though i dont mind. Also folken is played by Jouji Nakata so its a plus as i love this guys voice

Old dubs are a very risky affair. Though sometimes they're absolutely hilarious.

So despite many "oh geez it's *another* LN-based pseudo-MMORPG show" I started watching KonoSuba (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! / Give Blessings to This Wonderful World!). 4 episodes in, so far, and it is actually legitimately hilarious. Even though a lot of it is playing on RPG and anime tropes, the ways it plays around with/parodies those tropes is usually pretty original so far and the characters are a lot more fun for being boisterous and speaking their mind rather than being shy or dumb. I don't think an anime has made me laugh this much since My Neighbour Seki-kun.
