Gotta feel sorry for her. I don't really see why anyone should stop this. He died suddenly before they could have kids. The samples were all taken. The consents were signed. They were both all ready to go before he died. And of course, now that he's gone, having his baby is the only way she has to have a part of him with her. If she were younger, the other consideration would be that it would make it harder for her to remarry, since men tend not to want to date a single mother. Not fair, but that's the way it is. But she's already 40, which means that most available men within her age group also have kids and it's not the same big deal that it would be for, say, a 26 year old. So really, the only real difficulty is that the kid is going to grow up without a father. That is not a unique situation. And I bet that this kid is going to be really, really loved.
