Been slowly transitioning to playing some Nioh after going hard on BL3 dlc and D2 seasonal events, and a period where I had little time to play video games. Learn from my experience: transitioning to a Dark Souls type of game after playing an FPS loot shooter (like BL2), you will die, I mean you will die in a Souls like game regardless, but if you are coming to it from such diametrically different game types and mindset you will die . . . a lot. And Nioh is Souls-lite in difficulty compared to og DS. I can't imagine if I were to jump in to full on Dark Souls what it would be like. Anyway, I'm slowly reawakening my Souls mojo and Nioh is getting less frustrating. Damn these games are so predicated on rhythm, instinct, and optimal anticipation.

Minecraft on switch.

Haven't played for ages but my boy picked it up after his speed run through Luigis Mansion 3.

It seems more complicated than I remember.
I just want to brew some potions, but you need a blaze rod to make the distillery - which you can only find in fortresses in the nether. So just so I can make water breathing potions or fire proofing stuff, I have to run about in the nether without any of those useful things, take out a Blaze, just to get a part to take back with me.

I can see why we just used to build in creative.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Go and see what's drifting around in space. Also pick up an egg from the nexus while you're at it...

I’d probably be so fucking lost after all this time. Really want to go back that bluegrass planet you visited but I was really surprised how much Xenoblade 2 rehooked me today as I pushed through a segment and next thing I knew a few hours had passed with even more segments completed.

Yeah I've only peeked at the updated stuff. Too many other things getting my attention at the moment, but nothing really grabbing it.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Game type too... Sekiro gives me tendonitis from L1 after a few days.

Holding the switch or switch lite gets my little fingers as I can't help curling them under to support it handheld.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Game type for sure. Sekiro did me in in the beginning. Worst thing ever is Destiny especially if your in pvp matches all day. Damn L/R3 buttons to hell! Would love a dedicated sprint button on bottom of controllers.

I’d say it’s also age to.

Can I recommend for you the Xbox Elite controller? Paddles on the bottom are customisable to be for different button mappings.

Also, literally the most comfortable and awesome controller I have ever used. On the PS side of the family, the Nacon Revolution offers similar benefits (and, for me, the biggest one is putting the sticks in the right places, e.g. the Xbox layout, but your mileage may vary).

And that's one of the reasons I can't imagine switching to consoles. I barely use my thumbs on M+K, and with controllers they basically do the lion's share of the work.

Played a bunch of Jedi Fallen Order yesterday. I'd been souring on the game because it was too Souls like and the load times were terrible.

Then I looked at a guide and realized I'd picked a hard planet as a second level. I backtracked and got three extra health thingies, got a dual blade sabre, upgraded BD and then I went to Kashyk. Now the game is so much easier and more forgiving.

Played the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo. Quite impressed. That Scorpion Sentinel boss battle is epic, and that's just the first boss  It's made me go back and start the original again.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is incredibly pretty.

The Spirit Trials, however, exist purely to drive me insane.

Ori is very pretty. And fun.

After the first "dungeon", did another area and some shit hit the fan. Also, the game went all Zelda-y on me, and now I got 4 areas to tackle in any order.

Naturally, my strategy is, "get into an area, grab the new ability, then leave it and go hoover up collectibles in all of the previous areas". I suspect that's not how the game's meant to be played....

Ok, it took 80% of the game, but I found the equivalent of the Ginsou Tree in Will of the Wisps.

Spent probably 3 hours on that chase sequence tonight. Then in the end looked it up on YouTube and I was only 1 jump away from the final stretch. That's disheartening, but I'll get back at it tomorrow.

I'm playing through the first Ori.

I started out thinking this is pretty, nice story, quite moving actually... a short time later I was hopping over spikes on tiny pedestals and cursing loudly like wtf no one said anything about this devilry!

Game changed since getting double jump and air dash though; I just returned to a bunch of areas and collected cells, and then up the Ginsou Tree I went. Found a sort of mini boss, but so far I'm not liking that catapult move I picked up -using enemies to jump is awkward.

It so satisfying to get it right though, Ori's movement is so smooth and well animated. Cleared most of the first areas apart from those where I need to go underwater.

"Bosses" in Ori 1 are a joke.

Escapes are the real bosses.

Finished Ori and the Will of the Wisps. A few teeth-grindingly frustrating bits aside, that is a wonderful game.

Now I guess it's time to finish up the story of Talion the Sadsack in PokeOrcs

Also downloading a demo for this new indie 3rd person shooter, Dahalo. It's a story set in Modern-day Madagascar centered on the struggle of regular people against gangs of cattle thieves. Looks decent, and there's a free demo, so why not?

Yep, that Tree escape was a blast though!

I've picked up Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC again. Taken me a while to get a handle on where I was but things are moving now. Love these games but they're SO time consuming.

Also making good progress with Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright on 3DS. I much prefer the 3DS/Game Cube/GBA Fire Emblem games to Three Houses on the Switch.

If you guys fancy pvp, now is the time to jump on your favorite game. With the world wide quarantine, the n00b5 have flooded online. I started up an old COD game and thought I was going to be rusty and get my ass handed to me, but the pwnage I was meting out was hilarious. Case in point - I stood across a good spans of the map with a pistol and this guy with a sniper build out was trying to snipe me in the window I was standing in. I kept hearing the report of his sniper rifle as he missed me while I locked my pistol (without any sights) on him and burst fired him to death. I got a long distance medal for that pistol class. I was so fucking far away from him, it was ridiculous. The sniper rifle misses made me barely contain my laughter while trying to keep my aim on him.

I have finally finished the main campaign of Shadow of War.

Gonna mess around with a bunch of demos from Steam's Festival of Games and report my findings.
