Finished Remember Me . Fun game, yet another interesting look @ utopia gone wrong. Generally enjoyed the combat, and the collectibles were a joy to look for (except scaramechs. Hated those things).

next up, probably gonna try out Stanley Parable, then move on "Bastion"

Oddly enough, both do narration tricks to some extent.

"Bastion" is decently fun, though I suck at combat. Also, I built a shrine and went overboard with Idols, so on my last foray I got murdered pretty badly.
Not sure how big the world is (the map is HUGE!), but I'm at a point where I have to collect the last Core- so not sure where to go from there. I'm also only Lvl 3, so I'm presuming there's still a lot of game left.

This feels like a nice game I can drop in and out of, without needing to rush to the finish.

Stanley Parable was.... fun. But bits of it game me a bit of a headache.

On my Gamecube. Had that thing for about fourteen years now!

And how much will you cry if it suddenly breaks?

Considering I have a mate who repairs / sells on retro consoles for a living, it'd be a small thing. They're not expensive to buy from CEX either, £30 odd.

Anyway, I'm at Yafutoma now. Authoring has led me to note some plot holes, but the game is still great. 21 hours in and probably about 1/2 way through the main story.

I accidentally flew off without killing the anklegator. Sigh. Now I'll need to replay the game at some point just to kill her.

Also, that repeater challenge @ Proving Grounds is INSANE.

I finished the bow, the musket and the machete so far, and I have 2nd prizes in pistols, shield, and hammer challenges. I don't think getting to 1st place in those will be that difficult with a few more upgrades. But the repeater challenge feels insane.

Edit: also, I fired up "Dex" the other night. It's a 2D action-platformer that wants to be Deus Ex. Looks pretty cool, though I think I might need to remap attack buttons away from the mouse and go full keyboard on this one.

Played for almost 4 hours last night. Total story progress- one shard. The rest of the time was spent in various Proving Grounds and Who Knows Wheres -because Bastion has an in-game achievement system that impacts the game (via the Monument Vigils), so I've been focusing on those (and in the process, I git gud with the diff. weapons).

Currently I still love my pistols + machete combo, but for the Wilds it feels like I need to switch the machete for the spear. Of the other guns, both the musket and the carbine feel too slow, although they clearly are more powerful.

Reviews say this game can be played in 6-7 hours. I think it'll be closer to 30 for me at this rate.

My brother insisted I download this battle royale game for the PS4, and it's pretty fun. I did not expect that!

I'm about 30 hours into Kingdoms of Amalur now and still finding it great fun.

I've also started replaying The Witcher with the intention of taking my save game into Assassins of Kings and then from that into my second NG+ playthrough of Wild Hunt. I expect this'll be something I just dip into every now and then, at least with the first game. It's so many years since I last played it but I'm already noticing some consequences from my decisions that are different to the ones I had before. Unfortunately I'm into the swamp in chapter 2, which is a real pain in the arse, so I'm trying hard not to let my enthusiasm wane.

Finally! Got to jam some titanfall 2 frontier defence! Its a crazy amount of fun. very addictive, still very easy to find matches.

Its a lot easier and quicker than I would have guessed though. Only 5 waves and your done. You get 2 retries if you fail and as near as I can tell you can respawn endlessly as long as you have not lost your harvester. The punishment appears to be only that respawning takes longer and longer. I have failed waves but neber the game. I started on easy got confident and moved on to normal and same thing. There are 2 higher difficulties though.

2 words: Igni + Heavy attack.

Swamp becomes fun in Act 3, when there's actuual variety of enemies. Act 2 is just a drag. But you can get most stuff there done in 2-3 to visits so it's not completely terrible.

July 2017 I believe. I'm late to the party. Let me know if you want to play. PC or PS4.

I recommend Scorch for FD

I remember really getting bogged down in chapter 2 when I played it back in the day. I can't remember how many times I went back and forth. This time I've downloaded a mod which adds a teleportation scroll for instant travel from the swamp to the city and back :)

Iirc, you can also teleport from Places of Power back to Kalkstein's Lab.
I did that a lot in Act 3 in order to avoid speaking to Ziegfried and Shani after making some choices they wouldn't approve of.

Just finished Shadow of Mordor. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't a wack Assassin's Creed clone. Better and more fun than AC for a few reasons, but still repetitive w/ a truly awful protagonist/story line. Not sure I wanna bother with the sequel.

Well, bopping around Mordor killing orcs is pretty fun for a while and some of the missions are challenging in a smart way. But there's just so many samey missions too. There are good ideas scattered throughout and it's like 20 hours shorter than an AC game, so that's good, but like I said, the overarching story is just so lunkheaded. I'd give it like a C, not an F, for cool orcs.

Yes, you can do that too. It's all going quite well at the moment. It's interesting, coming back to it having since read the books and loving Wild Hunt so much, how much more enjoyable I'm finding it this time around. I'm in the latter stages of chapter 2 now. Dealt with the golem sentry in the swamp yesterday.
