I was gifted Conquest of Elysium 4 for christmas. It's a turnbased strategy game made by the people that made the Dominions games.
I've done one game, managing quite well as an Enchanter, my crystal golems makign short work of the halfling armies of my closest AI enemy. Alas, it didn't occur to me that rivers would thaw in spring, so my entire army drowned halfway into my conquest. So, new game.
There's a lot of similarities to Dominions 4, but the little I've seen is better. Units are much more expensive, so you wont spend most of your time building armies in every territory. There's both more and less variety.
So,if you're looking for an old style turn based strategy with a lot of complexity, this might be the game for you.

Finished Sforza campaign. Last mission was a nice "defend, build up, steamroll" affair. No siege, so got to mass Cavs to demolish buildings old-school. Really cool twist in the "background narrative" story that replaced the mission briefing of most RTSs, too. Usually, that stuff is just fluff, but this one was very-well done in the end
Started the El Dorado campaign, following Fransisco Orellana as he navigates the Amazon jungle. Nice maps so far.

It doesn't help that decent exploration ships and loadouts cost a bloody fortune compared to what you're making early, so...... yeah, I'd like to play that game if I'd be out there on the rim, perhaps pioneering stars not touched by anyone yet (I doubt that at this point of the game's lifespan, but maybe...?), but I simply can't be arsed to get through the slog of getting there.
All in all, this could be for you if you've got time on your hands and are willing to accept the metagame.

OK so I may have to eat my earlier words.
The last 3 afternoons I've been glued to the screen by this game. I haven't been doing anything grand at all, just doing a mission here and there, some small-scale trading, hunting some bounties, but... there's something about getting to a station that just makes you go out and do 'just one more mission' or 'just one more trip'. Hours fly by and you won't notice.
So yeah, I guess indeed like Euro Truck Simulator in space, heh. Turns out I like this sort of thing.
Got myself a Viper MkIV and made my way into Alliance space to try and make them my friends. We'll see what comes out of it.
Also might just get Horizons. Landing on planets seems just too cool to miss.

Super-busy week. Yest was the first evening I got to put some play time into the Orellana (AKA, El Dorado) campaign. Powered thru missions 2 and 3. Although its technically playing as Incas, you're stuck in Feudal and Dark ages, respectively, so no unique cool stuff. Generally, mission 3 was creative, with its attrition mechanic, but way too easy. Mission 4 looks to be a proper B&D, where I should get to tech up to Imperial as Incas, and do "a bunch of side quests" if my scouts are to be believed.
Once done here, onto the African Kingdoms expansion.

Witcher3 and Fallout4 and Skyrim are all already done. No, I don't want any of the new Final Fantasy Emo Character 14 Plays Dress Up With His Unicorn.
I want a good, solid RPG, either Western or JRPG, that I can play one the X-One.

Of the ones I have played I can definitely recommend Dragon Age: Inquisition.
I have also heard great things about Divinity: Original Sin, Wasteland 2 and Van Helsing
EDIT: Actually Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen is coming out today. I played that for about 10 hours on the PS3. Really liked it.

Sorry, I already did Inquisition, and if I don't find something new I'll probably start a new game in that, but I feel the itch for something new.

Had sometime this weekend, but not much.
Managed to finish Tariq 1. Neat B&D, nothing special. Berbers are awesome-looking civ, just b/c they have probably the largest roster of cavalry (they get 2 unique units, both of them mounted ranged units).
Took a peek at mission 2-looks like another massive B&D--you have to use your FF in the beginning to capture Toledo to use as your base, and then take over 4 enemy cities. hopefully, work isn't too crazy this week and I'll have some time at home to sink my teeth into it.

I've actually been playing some of the AOE2 campaigns. Most of the way through Attila's 'Fields' mission - the Arun and the other douchebags are basically wiped out, just got Le Fraunche to trounce now.

So I finally popped the platinum trophy for Fallout 4 at the ungodly hour of about 6AM this morning, told myself I needed to get it done and just sat there till it was. I remember a time when I would have had this done back in November, relatively easy trophies an all, but life issues an all that jazz *shrugs* Although perhaps a more pertinent obstacle to game playing time in recent weeks at any rate, is a certain immensely enjoyable and truly fantastic series of Fantasy novels... 
Now I must decide whether to play though The Witcher 3 again, this time with all DLC (easily the best game of 2015!) or to finally give Bloodborne a go, which I have owned for months without touching. I absolutely loved Dark Souls, my time spent getting all the achievements for it on the 360 was easily top 5 most enjoyable and rewarding gaming experiences of my life, but I honestly have never been able to get into DS2 with anything like the same amount of fervor, hence my worry that Bloodborne will not be quite as enjoyable. Leaning towards re-immersion into the stunning world of Geralt and friends at the moment, but it is starting to get ridiculous how long I have owed Bloodborne without ever playing it :/
Course with another 7000 or so pages of said fantasy series still to go, who knows how much playing time I'll get anyhow lol

Wait with playing the Witcher 3. They are releasing the enhanced edition soon and later in the year the fairy tale DLC Blood and Wine is coming out. I reckon some time around summer/fall the Witcher 3 will be content complete and as optimized as it's going to get.

Oh I'd love to play Bloodborne! But I don't have a PS4, so . . .
I've mostly been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic with some friends. Very enjoyable and scratching my Star Wars itch at the moment (until I can get some medication for it, anyway).

I had the same experience as you when it came to DS2, but I loved Bloodborne. Loved it.
It's a surprisingly different game, but also very similar. And the atmosphere of it, the city of Yahrnam, it's fantastic. I had to grow many eyes on the inside to fully comprehend it's splendor.

I think I have bloodbourne sitting at home for the ps4 waiting to play. ive made an executive decision not to go out into my hometown drinking until march because, well, its a shit hole.
i'll need a few nights on the ps to make this happen.

Binged on AoK HD last night. Tariq 4/5 done. Missions 2 + 3 were sprawling B+D set-ups, each with some twists. Mission 4 has your FF crossing the Pyrenees, being ambushed every which way-and certain areas of the map -"wind-swept passes" drain your units' HP rapidly. Basically an attrition game.
Mission 5 seems to be about taking Bordeaux. Like 4, it's set in 732- so, 30 years after the initial conquest, and it seems to be the direct build up to the Battle of Tours Battle of the Conquerors scen from AoC.
Highlight so far is Mission 2, when your reinforcements arive-and they're Saracen, so in addition to already super-diverse Berber mounted force, you also get Elite Mamelukes.
The devs gave campaigns numbers, but they're not chronological. After much wiki-ing, I see that the next campaign is Yodit, somewhere I mid 10th century Ethiopia. Once i'm done subjugating Southern France, I'll be moving onto that.

Yeah, I knew that later in the year we have Blood and Wine to look forward to, I might be able to justify buying the Enhanced Edition at some point, if my financial situation improves, either way it looks like you are right about it being content complete sometime later this year. Really no excuse not to give Bloodborne a go I guess...

Oh, the enhanced edition is a free upgrade. You just download it. They've done the same thing with Witcher 1 and 2.
The game will just be sold as an enhanced edition for new players.

Oh bleh, I even had The Witcher 2 Enhanced and that still went over my head, didn't think it through obviously.
I do love CDProjekt Red

Definitely think I'm going to wait for that before I play through again then, Bloodborne it is then, thanks for helping me decide.

Living in London there is no shortage of places I can go to get bladdered if I so wish, recent events have led to me making a similar executive decision for entirely different reasons, however. I envision more time on my PS4 as well as a result
