Malazan Empire: Lone Imass - Malazan Empire

i would like your opinion on this here. in DG from page 375 to 382, where the Imass get to the sailing ship searching for their kin and the Edur.The Imass who vollunteers to go in the rent, he goes in with the head of one of the edur. do you think he fooled every one and just threw the head in instead of going in on his own, maybe to be released of his bound. to walk alone like tool does. pls read the passage and let me know what you think. thanks.
