I decided to throw this here rather than in the Art subforum just because of spoilers.

What are the top 3-5 scenes from the Crippled God that you would love to see translated to art? For my money, they'd be...

1. The top of the Spire, just after Fener's death. Hood looking on as Gu'rull flies off with Kaminsod's heart, Gesler's dead, Reverence is dead, Bent is going apeshit (this was mentioned in another thread and I can't help but reiterate here.)

2. The moment immediately following Cot's stabbing of the Crippled God, beam of jade light, Jade Strangers in the sky, the heavies and marines looking on.

3. Fidder and company sitting with Nimander and company around the campfire at the very end, Fiddler playing his fiddle, Whiskeyjack mounted on a hill in the distance.

4. Tavore, Ruthan Gudd and Lostara Yil advancing on the Pure FA whose name escapes me. Just a shot of the three of them head-on, grim and determined as all hell, would be kick ass.

5. Toss up between Fiddler sighting and meeting the Snake with the rest of the Bonehunters in the distance, and maybe the scene with Karsa and Munug.

Other than your #1:

The Tiste Andii kneeling to the Shake

The Khundryl! The Khundryl!,
and the scene surrounding

Heboric chaining Korobas... though I'm not sure how this would go. A sort of Boschian multiple-levels thing?

Brys dumping the Dead Gods' Phone Directory on the Fuckerall

All the upthread ones are solid. here's mine...

1. Cotillion stabbing the CG in front of a horrified Koryk, marines engaged vs the Kolansii in the background.

2. Tavore, Lostara, Gudd, and Hevar CHARGING the Kolansii army.

3. Hood tusking the FA in the brainz.

4. The Seguleh handmaid riding the Ship of Death through a gate.

5. Draconus in full blown 'dragon of darkness' form attacking Kilamandaros.

Lots of good stuff here! It'll be a busy year for us Posted Image

Personally, I'd like to see all the Storms of dragons attacking Korabas and dying in hordes. Dragons FTW!

But, what would be awesome is a painting of heavies lugging bags stuffed with kittens...could someone please paint this? I don't have the necessary skills to pull this off...is Nether still around?

Also, Yedan Derryg killing dragons left and right on the Shore....

And maybe an underwater scene with Brys and ze lanternman. A nice, moody, atmospheric piece, methinks.

Avoiding the more "action infused" scenes, going for some portraits, I would like to see a depiction of:

The meeting where Olar Ethil takes the children from Gruntle and Co. So much pain and dispair in that one.

Calm standing between Mappo and Icarium.

The meeting between the gods at the Fall and Ruin.

Tulas Shorn, the dead Jaghut child and the broken T'lan Imass.

Oh and just one action scene.

Draconus striking the giant Jade statue.

That would be the most epic one of them all!

For me, I'd like to see the scene where Tavore uses Mael's blade to make a lake, starving Bonehunters and Snake children milling about in the background while a desert crater fills with water.

Two scenes that would leave the viewer wondering...

Tavore, sword flashing heading for Ganoes...

And...

Quick Ben and Kalam at the end... Quick Ben with the smirk of success on his face and Kalam in the back ground thinking that stomping Quick Bens brain will be a good idea...

Classic!

Hellian and Urb confessing their love in the trench while in the background the FA's army charges them.

Fiddler's salute to the common soldiers as the marines head off with Hedge by his side.

The Tiste Andii kneeling to the shake/ and or Yedan single handedly assaulting Lightfall.

Stormy and Sinn's fight on the spiral.

Imass and Jaghut alliance as the blood rains down.

(would love to see the sappers crying over the munitions as well though.)

Ooo, had somehow forgotten the salute at the parting of the BH. That'd be a nice one, that would.

Fener's blood raining down and bringing the T'lan Imass back to life.

A Forkrul Assail with two knives sticking out of its chest from the back and Kalam whispering something in his ear. Word bubble of "Compliments of Kalam Mekhar" optional.

Apart from the above (all of which would rock), my tuppence:

1. The sembling of Tiam
2. Korabas's flight leaving a wake of death and dissolution
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

As well as all the awesome action scenes mentioned above, I would love to see one of Fiddler and Banaschar sitting on the mound cooking dinner for an unconscious Tavore. Don't really know why, but I just loved that scene.

And I definitely second the Icarium/Mappo one Ralde suggests. Especially with Ublala in the background looking mightily confused.

Ditto this, 100%. And in that same subtly-heartbreaking vein, I think a rendering of Lostara Yil outfitting Tavore in her battle kit in the tent just before the last battle of the regular Bonehunters could be very dramatic and poignant.

Silchas Ruin & Tulas Shorn reunion.

Tavore walking at the head of the Bonehunters through the desert.

Korlat & Whiskeyjack scene at the end, although it never quite made it into the book but anyway..!

...Erm, can I just list each and every scene with Silchas in it? No? Oh well...

The Khundryl Charge.

"Compliments of Kalam Mekhar."
It was ever thus.
