That is in Bhaktapur, one of the big cities within the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. If you look closely, you can see "Himalayan Eco Trees & Tours" in the sign to the left. I have been to that city, although not to this particular side street.
The photo was taken by Anuar Patjane and was featured in National Geographic's best photos of 2011 contest, which is probably the beginning of the Internet trickle down to you. Unfortunately, they took a credited photo of a specific place, with regional tells, and reduced it to "Anywhere".
The following is a photo of Nepali Army soldiers patrolling for poachers in Chitwan National Park and was taken by Patrick Brown in 2004. They use elephants because they are quiet, self-aware and deter tigers from attacking.
You're such a beautiful person. You get repped because of your knowledge. I saw that sign but my paranoid mind thought, "Okay so this is in Himalayas? No it can't be, why would they advertise a trip to the Himalayas? or is that a trip within the Himalayas? Or is this place an area close to the Himalayas but not in the Himalayas?" As you can see I did have a little think about it
