Does anyone like bad movies as much as I do? I'm talking low-budget, community-theater quality acting, rubber masks, plotholes, unintentional humor - or even bad big budget films that are fun to watch

these tend to be horror and action movies but you can find them in any genre....

Two of my personal favorites are:

Troll 2

and The Room

I enjoy most of Steven Seagal's films for this reason, although there have been a couple which were so bad I couldn't force myself to watch them.

The same with Jean-Claude Van Damme's stuff, and actually, I thought that JCVD was a pretty good film.

Evil Dead series.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

These I think are actually great movies and not bad in any way whatsoever

I think the difference with these is that they knew they had a low budget and they were intentionally campy and ridiculous, it was the self-awareness of Evil Dead that made it extra-awesome

but....

on the other hand an argument could be made....

Transformers: the movie.

This is incorrect on two levels:

If you mean Transformers: The Animated Movie (aka better than any anime ever made) then it's wrong, since that was not a bad movie, that was an excellent movie and you are the devil for calling it bad
If you mean Transformers the live action dross then it's wrong because while it was a bad movie it was also not very good at being a bad movie and you are the devil for considering it not unappealing and horrible
In summary you are the devil.

I admit that I still cry when I watch the death scene in the animated Transformes movie. (You know which one) That shit was sad

Yes IMO there are three kinds of bad movies

(1) Bad Bad Movies - these are boring and a waste of your precious lifespan

(2) Bad Good Movies - these are unintentionally hilarious and brilliant - they make you want to say wow why did anyone make this? this is a study in awfulness and I love it

(3) Good Bad Movies - these are intentionally bad - they are ironic and self-aware and campy on purpose - for example (Machete, Hobo With a Shotgun, Evil Dead Series etc etc.)

I really want to see Machete. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?

It's out on DVD now, isn't it?

I've seen it. It's not must-see material, but it has its moments.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Fair enough, perhaps a download from iTunes is in order, if they actually have it available. Thanks. Posted Image
