Approaching shoulder high water Gamelon looks up to see that people are starting to make it to shore.
Not a problem, he thinks to himself.
They still have to find the idol.
He swims the last few metres of deep water before taking to his feet and running.

As I reach the finish line I realize I am an idiot. I need to find the damn idol...hmmmm if I was an idol where would I hide. I see a tree with what appears to be a hollowed out hole20 feet in the air. "that looks promising" I say, as I start to climb.

Having reached the beach Gamelon moves towards the jungles boarder and begins to walk its length.
He passes someone desperately trying to climb a tree.
He continues on, occassionally glancing to the sea and the chaos there in.
Wait. What was that? He stops and looks to the jungle next to him. A broken branch. He starts to survey the area. There! The partially print of a boot heel. Someone's been this way recently. He enters the jungle.

I pull myself out of the water and shiver at the breeze blowing in from the ocean. I look at the masses scrambling to and fro.
Walking over to the nearest log, I sit down and try to catch my breath. Plenty of time to search for the idol after I've caught my breath and rested my weary arms.

I've stopped moving? Seems the tide has brought me and my flotation device to shore. Or rather, I, in my glorious might, have commanded the seas to bring me to shore! Yawn. Now to find the idol. Perhaps it over there, in that conveniently shaded area underneath yonder tree. Is that a person climbing said tree!? Probably going after those delicious fruit. What fruit you ask? Why, the fruit hidden by those dastardly leaves. No worries, I shout, I shall shake the tree, and coax the probably delicious fruit out of hiding. I will share some with you, fair climber!. Hold on, and be ready to catch the falling fruit. Shake-a-shake-a-shake!

"Damnit!" Gamelon cursed through clenched teeth, I've lost the trail.....maybe I missed something.....He starts to retrace his steps.
He studies the floor of the jungle, the plants, the low hanging branches searching for anything that might reveal his quarry's path.
'Achooo!' He sneezes. He rubs his nose. 'Damn wet clothes...' he mutters.
A cool breeze blows and the leaves shiver and move. Beautiful day, he thinks, Wonder what the weather is like back....Something catches his eye. He moves towards it.
There, at the base of a fig-covered tree, a section of disturbed earth. Could have been an animal.........
He kneels down and starts to dig.

I pull up to rest a pit and looked at the action going on in the not as distant shore. I see a teammate scaling a tree. I'm thinking holy shit I hope they don't kill themselves.
Should I yell encouragement? or will that just startle them and risk them falling to near certain injury. Best not to temp fate.

Just a little bit more. Just a little bit more.

Sooo, we have a resident monkey. And someone digging for treasure. And an Army Ranger tracking stuff. But you know... you need somewhere where you can also put cameras up. So, that would mean somewhere where a tele-lens from the chopper can get a good shot. I'd say... the treeline. Let's go for a walk and keep an eye on that thing in the sky, now shall we?

11 players have participated in the Challenge
Jeff Probst is now in a boat alongside the castaways, offering his typically "blunt" and "obvious" commentary.
"Fatigue is already setting in. You can clearly see several players running out of steam. Tiamatha, Eloth, and Anomandaris are really slowing down! Shadow has barely moved, I wonder if he'll need an innertube to make it!"
Probst speeds ahead and follows up with, "Alkend is still on fire! He's almost to shore! Liosan has really started to fall off the pace but is still in it! And Hood's Path and Serc are still holding steady! They're right in this thing!"
He looks over the assembled mess of bodies twisting and weaving through the water, each trying to make it to shore. "Pick it up! You guys aren't out of it!"

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

From my view atop the tree I can see that there are still people in the water. This better be worth it. I am risking a broken limb here. Almost to that damn hole..almost there.... Holy shit!! Someone is shaking the tree!! Are they trying to kill me?!?!?! The last thing I remember before the basketball size coconut hits me in the head is that I saw a glint of something in that hole. As I fall to the earth Darkness engulfs me.

I open my eyes and realize I am still in the water. Oh, god dammit... stupid acid. I grit my teeth and keep on swimming.

"Shut up Jeff". I'm trying not to drown over here. (As I swallow water and choke). Damn that guy might get really annoying if he keeps this up I thought to myself.

*casually dives, flips, and back crawls to shore*
No need to worry about breathing, really.
i think i'm gonna lie on the sandy beach and wait for the rest to top floundering.

As I survey my fellow players the thing that most stands out is how so many of them have sunstroke. They are walking into trees and sleeping on top of each other. The swim was tiring. So I don't understand how that guy can have the energy to try to run down a snake. It is almost like he doesn't know that it is poison.
Then there is the guy frantically digging...what looks like a fox hole. War flashback perhaps.
Neverminding them I pause to take in our new home and try to spy out the idol.
Editted because I hate my phone.

Man, I hope I never have to swim again. Think I'll let the currents pull me slightly downshore instead of fighting it, then I can hit the beach away from the others to begin my search.

Shake-a-shake-a-shake-a -- wait a minute... is that the sound of rushing air. It all came crashing back. Here I am, sitting in the damn water, and I've gone and burst my inflatable companion! oh cruel fate! What will I tell his family? No matter, I have a race or something to win. Not so bad, seeing as I can now walk in the shallows. Either that, or I am submerged...Gah damn.

wait a minute, we're supposed to be looking for somehting?
for a moment, I regret getting into that one night stand last night, which made me late this morning, so that I missed all the instructions and just jumped in the water, because everyone's doing it.
Then I think back to the evening and all regret vanishes. I mean, whatever they are looking for can't be that important. And once that chick makes it to shore, i'll just ask her. should be a good way to strike up a conversation, too.

Oh thank god a passing sea turtle. The last hilucination was really bad. Perhaps if I just grab on to the back of his shell for a bit then I can rest up.
Ohhh on second thought that isn't a turtle at all it is tulas and her chest inflateables. No need to antagonize her.

12 people have participated in the Challenge
"Everyone's swimming hard now! Shadow's taking my advice to heart, look at him go! Barghast is almost to shore! Merrid's almost to shore! Okaros is starting to climb onto the beach! Tiamatha's right there!"
Of course, they aren't the first ones there. Footprints mark the beach and Jeff continues.
"Alkend races onto the beach! He's frantically looking everywhere for the necklace. He's had a huge lead all Challenge, will he find that necklace? Hood's Path is on the shore, too! He's looking near the driftwood that litters the sand. Serc's on the beach now, trying to follow Hood's Path. Maybe he missed something?" This comment causes Hood's Path to turn around in fear, but Jeff just laughs.
"Liosan makes it to shore, too, and he is tired!. Ruse crawls onto shore, too. Get it together if you want that necklace!"
Dureza Tribe - Alkend, Anomandaris, Barghast, D'riss, Hood's Path, Kalse, Merrid, Serc, Tiamatha
Pensador Tribe - Eloth, Fener, Gamelon, Karatallid, Liosan, Okaros, Ruse, Shadow, Tulas Shorn
Bold indicates the castaway has made it to shore.
