More post-vote discussion from Barghast and Kalse.

Kalse, on 21 April 2011 - 03:46 PM, said:

Well I guess you're right, that seems like a better idea now. My logic was that I wanted to get my vote in cause I think I was pissing off P-S by waiting till the second to last vote to use my ability and then vote myself. Ano hasn't voted yet or I probably would have chosen him; Merrid was my only real option right now since no one else has voted.

And if Ano doesn't show up or vote like he did on the first TC then I would just be waiting around. Oh well, this TC is fucked regardless.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 03:48 PM, said:

You should get some clarification about your ablilty. Like if you can put in provisionals to Vote based on the results of a find and if PS could forward specific messages for you based on a find if you are not around. Because information is gold and it would be a shame that one couldn't pass on information to allies that you would have otherwise just because you weren't around.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 03:51 PM, said:

Like I said find out about provisionals. If you selected Ano to get the results then you could have put in a provisional of
If Ano votes D'riss then vote D'riss. Else vote Alkend.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 03:55 PM, said:

I know that was why I didn't want to tell him at all.

Kalse, on 21 April 2011 - 04:02 PM, said:

I have a feeling that P-S is not going to pass on messages for me if I'm not around, especially ones that involve results from an ability... but provisionals are smart, I actually realized I should be doing that like yesterday but I forgot completely about it. Asked P-S and waiting to hear.

Kalse, on 21 April 2011 - 04:03 PM, said:

Yeah and there goes Ano's vote. Well, it's probably moot for this TC, but we'll play the next one smarter. If we get the chance...

DKT makes it 3 D'riss 1 Alkend.

Anomandaris, on 21 April 2011 - 03:57 PM, said:

Vote d'riss

He sheepishly explains himself to D'riss.

Anomandaris, on 21 April 2011 - 03:56 PM, said:

I was gonna vote alkend but if you don't have a majority then im going to have to go with the flow. :)

D, on 21 April 2011 - 04:00 PM, said:

do you have the idol?

D'riss gives what little he can.

D, on 21 April 2011 - 04:01 PM, said:

i'll vote alkend, and if he has the idol ask him to use it on me.

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 04:47 PM, said:

I agree that we will have to bump it up. There is no telling how many people looked for the idol. After this lynch I am going to bump up to survivor 3 hopefully it will have a little extra bonus.

ansible's mostly right... but there's stuff at play that also necessitates the vote system as-is. If everyone can put in "provisional" votes then they just do that anyway. Plus, you have to have time to let people submit last minute actions.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 04:50 PM, said:

Why not? I think it will eliminate this whole cat and mouse game everyone is playing and people will vote quicker. Isn't that what we want. Most people have been decided a long time ago on who they are going to vote for. They just hold off so someone else won't get any additional info and it drags the game out.

Kalse, on 21 April 2011 - 05:04 PM, said:

You're probably right about speeding things up but my guess is that he didn't originally intend votes to be eligible for "provisionals". I think he's just more comfortable with everyone manually submitting a vote.

Looks like D'rek's back.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 05:04 PM, said:

I see 'em. The speech patterns and punctuation are very consistent with how Ano talks, so seems legit.
How did you guys vote?

She appears to be buying into Barghast's soft reveal... but we'll see how it goes.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 05:06 PM, said:

Well shiver my fuckery timbers. And after I gave such a compelling "man the fuck up" speech to him, too. Alright well let's just pray they don't have the immunity idol, which I don't think they do.

How did you guys vote??

She asks DKT about his vote.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 05:07 PM, said:

OK so how did they in fact vote Alkend? And what did you and the other bastards vote?

Glimmer of hope for Tattersail? With Alkend's vote missing, it will require Serc to vote Alkend for a tie and then Alkend to vote someone other than D'riss. Good luck there.

Anomandaris, on 21 April 2011 - 05:27 PM, said:

No bro sorry don't have it... But serc just got hold of me and asked who we voting for. He has no idea win any of the alliance have voted for so there wasn't much cohesion. You might stand a chance. I don't know win they voted for either. I only talk with serc and he knows nothing.

And of course, DKT makes sure that won't happen by telling Ment himself.

Anomandaris, on 21 April 2011 - 05:43 PM, said:

driss is the vote for us bastards. In case you are wondering.

D'rek is impatient.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 05:51 PM, said:

ALK, WHEN YOU GET BACK VOTE FOR D'RISS PLZ AND THANK YOU

D'reks in the mood to vote off D'riss too. That's all it takes. 4 D'riss - 2 Alkend (I'll go ahead and mark Alkend as a vote for D'riss too, don't see any reason he'd do otherwise).

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 05:52 PM, said:

Vote for D'riss.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 05:52 PM, said:

and assuming I live through this tribal council, level up to Leader 3 ASAP, plz and thanks.

Vengey tells D'rek to not worry about the idol.

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 06:18 PM, said:

Barghast voted for driss. Barghast says that both driss and kalse voted for alkend and that kalse targeted me to find out who I voted for.

I voted for driss. If ano has the idol then we can just put driss down and move on.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 06:34 PM, said:

If Kalse and D'riss aren't the only ones voting for Alkend, we'll lose him if we try to hedge our votes between the two of them. I think the odds are better that they don't have the idol and wasn't sure how everyone voted, so I went D'riss, which everyone is saying they voted, too. We'll just have to wait and see, then.

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 06:56 PM, said:

Haha well the only people who were suppose to vote kalse was you and ano and since you weren't around to tell ano who to vote for everyone went and voted driss no great loss.

A fast chef, too.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 07:01 PM, said:

I want to get this in. After tribal is over please

action - Use top chef

Oh speakign of Ment, guess who's here. 5 D'riss 2 Alkend

Alkend, on 21 April 2011 - 08:29 PM, said:

Vote D'riss I folow my tribe.

twelve pleads to try and save the cry for immunity. This reward has a good bonus, too, but I can see his pleading.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 09:22 PM, said:

Please say you are not going to use the rally cry on the reward challenge this time right? I think we should try and win it without the ability to get the morale bonus and then save the rally cry for the immunity challenges. If we lose the reward then you will have two rally cries to use at the next immunity challenge.

Or can we start talking about this ability openly on the forum so we all can discuss it?

twelve is asking for Kalse to clarify his leveling up.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 09:30 PM, said:

So are you leveling up to level 3 intelligence? If so is it worth it? What did you get? It's like a goodie bag. You can't wait to find out what's inside.

I'm going back and forth between going up to level 3 strength and going level 2 endurance and level 1 Int.

I'm looking for a more well rounded group of stats than specializing in any one but if the boost in stats in level 3 is significant then I might consider it.

Kalse sums it up for himself. Glad he likes the ability he got, too, although in reality, the 3 "Stat" roles (Challenger, Survivalist, Genius) have more "generic" abilities than the non "Stat" roles. This is because, frankly, they are good at challenges. But the leader and other classes really start to get awesome at some of these abilities depending on how much control they have over the game.

Kalse, on 21 April 2011 - 09:24 PM, said:

TOTAL STATS:

+3 INT (+4 if working alone)
+1 END

I just wanted to sum that up for myself and get it in one post so I can easily reference it. Thanks. Cool Genius abilities btw.

D'rek is pleased... leader really is very strong BUT it requires a lot of co-ordination to pull off. Splitting votes may be tactically smart, but doesn't help you much with personal bonuses.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 09:26 PM, said:

Daaaamn, cool. I will have questions on that stuff later, I think.

Since I'm at +1 morale or so right now, let's do a search for the immunity idol ASAP, as presumably I'll get morale bumped back up for the challenge anyways!

DKT wants to fake Challenger 2.

Anomandaris, on 21 April 2011 - 09:29 PM, said:

psych challenger

Anomandaris, on 21 April 2011 - 09:33 PM, said:

Ok so this means i can now get 4 bonus for my search for the idol? If i choose that misdirection?

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:41 PM, said:

Challenger - Level 2

Mighty Roar - Rrrraaaaaaagh!
Brute II - Let me just move this boulder over here...

You have a +2 Bonus with Misdirection. The +2 Bonus from your earlier ability only applies if you have a clue to the Hidden Immunity Idol.

twelve wants to look for the idol again. Why not, right?

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 09:35 PM, said:

It is a new "Day" right? I can submit a new action right? It is so hard to determine when I can use my ability and when I have to wait with no clear night day cycle.

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:43 PM, said:

You're all clear. I have you using Top Chef for this TC cycle before this challenge. You can submit new actions like Idol hunting if you wish.

Stakes are higher for this reward, boyos!

As you say, I'll save it for the immunity challenge. Sounds like this is just another +1 morale reward anyways, and the last one proved how little use winning it is.

I would prefer to avoid talking about it for now, simply in case the tribes merge and Kalse runs over to tell the Pensadors everything he knows about us. Likewise, I would advise not saying it on-thread if you get any new abilities, yourself.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 09:41 PM, said:

K. Though I think I'll just be leveling up to already known abilities. I think I'm going to go for level 2 end, level 2 strength and level 1 int.

Keeps looking better and better for Serc!

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:37 PM, said:

My notes list you at Outstanding Morale (+2).

Even better! I haven't been keeping track of my morale very well and still haven't gone over everything from yesterday, either.

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:37 PM, said:

Noted on the search, you'll be informed of the results when the challenge is beginning.

Ok, thanks!

Vengey's happy with what little he has. Really, the Survivalist is about core survival. Morale to win challenges, Endurance which is useful in several stuff, including some of the individual stuff at the end, and of course, the fire building in case you are tied at the end.

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 09:47 PM, said:

So I now have 3 endurance and one strength. Excellent.

The PMs are flooding in...

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 09:49 PM, said:

Okay, so question/confirmations time:

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:15 PM, said:

Leader - Level 3:

Stay in Line - ...or get out... If a player in your alliance votes with you at Tribal Council, you gain a +1 Leadership bonus to all challenge rolls during the next tribal council cycle. This bonus stacks for each player, but resets with each Tribal Council.

"If a player in your alliance" - is that everyone I can talk to, or only people I used "forge alliance" on and not people who used it on me?

you gain a +1 Leadership bonus to all challenge rolls during the next tribal council cycle - I personally get the bonus and no one else, right? Is there some significance to it being a "Leadership" bonus roll, or does this work for any STR/INT/END/other roll?

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:15 PM, said:

Observe and Report (A) - Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. - Pick two members with whom you have an alliance. You may do one of the following 1) Receive constant updates (as often as I can get them) indicating who those players talk to, along with the timestamps for those conversations, throughout the tribal council cycle (retroactive to the beginning of the current cycle); 2) Get a direct copy of all alliance communication between those two players, throughout the tribal council cycle (if there is any, retroactive to the beginning of the current cycle).

Pick two members with whom you have an alliance - again this can be anyone who can talk to me, right?

Let's say I pick Kalse and Ano, and choose option {2}. I should get a complete copy of all off-thread communication between those two, right? But if those two don't even have off-thread communication, do I get to pick someone else or does it become a waste?

Lastly, I can do a new Observe and Report with different targets and a different choice of {1} or {2} every cycle, right? And assume I can only use it once per TC cycle, anything else would be craaaaazy.

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:54 PM, said:

1) It's everyone you can talk to. All alliances you are in.
2) It's just for you. The significance is that 'like' bonuses don't stack. If you were to somehow get another Leadership bonus only the highest would stack. It works for any challenge roll you take, regardless of stat.
3) Again, yes, anyone you have an alliance with.
4) Using your scenario, you will get a complete copy of their communication throughout the day. You won't get stuff from before the TC cycle starts or after it ends. If they don't have off-thread communications, you will get nothing back for the day, but you won't be told they don't have communications (the main reason here is that they could have communications but just don't talk all day).
5) Yes, you pick targets from alliances you are in, every cycle. They can be the same people over and over, or different, your call. Yes, only once per TC cycle.

Bent's cooking with the spare time.

Tulas Shorn, on 21 April 2011 - 09:52 PM, said:

PB, I want to use my chef bonus to add to our morale, and I also want to look for the immunity idol now, please.

Thanks

twelve is chatting it up.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 09:52 PM, said:

So if I use my top chef is it only good for the reward challenge or will it carry over to the immunity one as well? Or will I have to use my ability again after the reward for it to be factored in for the immunity challenge?

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 09:58 PM, said:

Several answers.

1) You can only use it once per TC cycle. If you use it before this Challenge, you may not use before the next challenge.
2) Your question about when it's "good" is not applicable. Morale changes are an instant, permanent shift in the direction indicated. You will all gain +1 Morale. If someone is maxed out, they will not go anywhere, obviously. The gain is not temporary. If you lose morale for any reason, it's from other sources, and that is also permanent.

Also, I have you currently at Poor (-1) Morale.

Vengeance uses the TC results to deflect from Barghast.

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 09:52 PM, said:

Well it looks once again like everyone in our alliance voted right. No wavering. Most likely people were playing games and Kalse and driss were doing there best and using slips to try to get our alliance to break up. Can't say I blame them. It just would have been a lot less stressful if there weren't so many different lies and games going around. But that is Mafia and this particular game in particular. :)

if Vengeance really does branch out he'll miss the real crown jewel...

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 09:55 PM, said:

My current moral is -2 so I had to use my cook pig thing. If you wouldn't mind using yours now then that should bring me back up to par. I think that we need to do everything possible to keep our moral up. I was hoping that I would get a moral bonus at L3 but no such luck. Although I can now starve and not suffer any - moral. For all of the fucking good that does me....sigh.. I am going to branch out to something else.

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 09:53 PM, said:

WHAT THE FUCK...............

Fine use the stupid cook pig thing and lets get my moral up higher. If we lose this stupid challenge then I expect that I will take another hit. Ahhhh...

Merrid, on 21 April 2011 - 09:59 PM, said:

Use this...

op Chef (A) - Why yes, you have cooked a raw boar before. - Your tribe gains a +1 Morale bonus. (max use of once per tribal council cycle)

Ok... well it looks like we managed to get a lynch but I think that it was probably a mistake to send Driss home. It probably should have been serc just from the tribe perspective. The problem with that is that I didn't trust Driss or Kalse so for me to have gone to them would have left me to open. I would much rather have a nice large alliance around me. One that I kinda trust

twelve tells Vengey he's using Top Chef.

Barghast, on 21 April 2011 - 10:02 PM, said:

I've used my Top chef as well. I should be at +1 moral and +1 endurance.

D'rek wants to game the system. Smart. This type of decision making is intended for this game.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 10:04 PM, said:

Couldn't agree more. Did you play the Highlander game? Only one I can think of in the last long while that deliberately had a single-player victory as the only possible end scenario. I find this is a lot like that with a ton of off-thread communication thrown in.

Like you with the morale boost, I'm going to save my rally cry for the immunity challenge. Since we lost yesterday's immunity challenge I've got one cry banked, and if we lose this immunity challenge I'll have 2 and give us all a +2 boost. So feel free to search for the immunity idol before this challenge. If we lose, we bump our own morale up and get a double-rally boost at immunity...

DKT starting to get it.

Anomandaris, on 21 April 2011 - 10:08 PM, said:

And this happens automatically? Making more sense now... I think. :)

Kalse, on 21 April 2011 - 10:14 PM, said:

Yeah I went to level 3. I'm thinking my main chance of survival lies in being a valuable challenge member, and that means INT for Dureza. I think in the end the leveled up roles are going to be important, but who knows for each role what it will be like. The nice thing about Level 3 is that you get two separate stat increases instead of just one.

My new ability is this - I can change my vote at Tribal Council at any time, as many times as I wish, and I don't have to announce it on thread. So after I make my "VOTED" post, I can theoretically use my Obvious Deduction ability to find a vote and then SWITCH my vote based on that info or whatever we want. It's also cool because it allows me to outflank anyone who uses the same Obvious Deduction ability on me - if the timing is right, that is. So kinda cool, hopefully useful...

I think we should obviously not tell anyone about that ability for as long as possible. If you get pressed by anyone to give up what my Lvl 3 ability is, you might could say it's like an addition to my old one - now I can see 2 people's votes instead of 1 or something. I dunno.

Kalse and Barghast talk over their stuff.

Kalse, on 21 April 2011 - 10:15 PM, said:

And the stat increases are mild but now on this challenge for instance, I'll have +4 INT and +1 END. Not too shabby. However I have Average Morale after that HII search.... not sure how we can improve that.

Kalse and Ano are allied but haven't talked in a few days.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 10:36 PM, said:

Okay, cool. Well I'll listen in on Anomander and Kalse today.

Path-Shaper, on 21 April 2011 - 10:40 PM, said:

Nice try, D'rek.

Serc, on 21 April 2011 - 10:58 PM, said:

Oh yeah, and D'riss was Tattersail - interesting, didn't anticipate that. I had D'riss with a big "dkt" written next to it in my notes, but I think I must have messed that up somewhere because Ano called himself dkt and it checks out with both posting times and dkt's usual manner of talking with every sentence being a new line. I had ansible written in for Kalse but I can't remember why I wrote that either... it's probably wrong. If I had to make a new choice on Kalse I'd actually say it might be Lizra, but I'm not anywhere close to certain.

Special : (E:200, total) - Participants on the water wheel make two endurance checks. The first will determine how much water they can take into their mouths. The second will determine how much they successfully spit out. The highest roll is automatically the "take in" roll and the second roll is the "spit out" amount.
Special : (S) - Participants spinning the wheel will add their modifiers (only) to the strapped-in players.

Morale corrections... to tired to update everything, just correcting on right.

Tapper matches D'rek on the other tribe.

Eloth, on 22 April 2011 - 09:34 AM, said:

I'd like to go to leader level 3, please.

DKT's idol hunting... he'll have good odds this time.

Anomandaris, on 22 April 2011 - 09:39 AM, said:

Ok so i will use misdirection for that +2 idol bonus please. And search search for the idol obviously :D thanks...

Roldom's preparing for a possible loss. The Cadre respond.

Karatallid, on 22 April 2011 - 11:41 AM, said:

So who do you wish to vote for? Gamelon or okaras?

Liosan, on 22 April 2011 - 11:48 AM, said:

I think Gam is abetter player, but stat wise, aren't about the same? I'll go back & look in a while.

Eloth, on 22 April 2011 - 12:01 PM, said:

It doesn't really matter all that much, does it? :D
My coin toss (tails) says Okaras but if you'd rather vote of Gamelon, I don't mind.

Tulas Shorn, on 22 April 2011 - 02:41 PM, said:

Either is fine, since I believe they have the exact same role, however Gamelon said he wont be around much, and we need to make sure we get bonuses each time, so I would go with voting off Gamelon, I suppose.

Bargie and Kalse discuss leveling plans.

Barghast, on 22 April 2011 - 04:29 PM, said:

I'm 1 exp point short. 2 short if I decided to go for strength level 3. I'm thinking of going for level 2 endurance and then I will go for level 1 int on my last level up. But I haven't decided on a course of action yet.

Kalse, on 22 April 2011 - 05:24 PM, said:

Ah, that's right, I forgot that the costs are different. Lvl 2 STR + Lvl 2 END + Lvl 1 INT would be a pretty powerful combo. At the very least your stats will be stacked. Something I forgot is that we max out at 8 EXP, so fairly soon our roles will stop progressing.

Anyway, are you planning to break this alliance and go for Alkend/Ano? P-S says it's not possible forge with the other tribe right now.

OK, DKT searches for the idol

Anomandaris (+2 Misdirection): 7 + 2 = 9 (fails)

Oo, just missed it... I wonder if anyone will find it before the merge? If nobody finds it on either tribe, there will be a new one at the new camp.
