Trull is saying that DKT is in the Gentleman Bastards.

Hood, on 13 April 2011 - 01:31 PM, said:

Ano's in. Bad timezone though. Hasn't had much to add, and he hasn't mentioned anything about another alliance. Might have to wait a good while before we get a reply.

DKT talks to D'rek.

Anomandaris, on 13 April 2011 - 01:48 PM, said:

Hey hey hey :p

Word around the campfire is you getting your alliance groove on!

twelve knows he's in trouble so he's going hunting.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 02:00 PM, said:

I'm probably on the way out on the numbers side so I have to throw caution to the wind and go for broke.

Path-Shaper, on 13 April 2011 - 05:37 PM, said:

Got it, you'll be informed of the result when the Challenge starts.

DKT and Trull cozy up.

Anomandaris, on 13 April 2011 - 07:37 AM, said:

yes! im in

Hood, on 13 April 2011 - 01:29 PM, said:

Awesome, here's the set up so far:

Serc
Merrid
HP
Alkend
Anomandaris

Barghast may be, in some strange way, part of our group as well, but he's in another 5 member alliance. Serc is fishing some info out of him. We agreed to vote Tiam last night, but seeing as it was your downtime it's understandable that you voted for someone before the deadline. Tiam is a survivalist, and is allied with Barg. Serc might be allied, or in communication with, Tiam.

Basically we are set up to handle the merge, but we still need to watch some of our own players. Serc is playing a lot of sides, in our own tribe, and though he sounds sincere, I feel he is a danger and will play primary manipulator for the start of this.

It's suggested that you form an alliance, either to get more information or just set yourself up to win with the other group. Any information you feel we could benefit from is more than welcome :p

Catch y'a later

Anomandaris, on 13 April 2011 - 01:33 PM, said:

well wat do you know...i picked up vibes on thread and thought Tiam would get votes so went with a vote on him too...hahaha

Anomandaris, on 13 April 2011 - 01:36 PM, said:

ok....i have asked PS....like hours and hours ago...to form an alliance with serc.

So ill see what he has to say and see if he is maybe feeding you bullshit or if he is being sincere.

So yea...i like the alliance, and also i agree we need to keep an eye out for certain players being sneaky...ie serc
Ill watch your back if you watch mine. :D

but for now we should trust him i think

Trull voices concern against D'rek for later in the game, but think's it's a safe bet to let her take the reigns for now.

Hood, on 13 April 2011 - 01:56 PM, said:

aha nice vote. Yea i agree that we have to trust Serc for now no doubt. In fact, he seems to be playing really well, and I feel somewhat safer because he seems to be at the helm. Though this could backfire on us later on, I see no problems arising from this early in the game.

I'm anxious to see a resolution when PS gets back

Anomandaris, on 13 April 2011 - 02:01 PM, said:

yea me too....he is back but prob busy with other tribes stuff first

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

twelve's looking for friends still, and he picked a decent one, although D'riss is still unclaimed. The problem is he already has used up both Forges and must break one.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 02:11 PM, said:

Because I think he is the odd man out in the main alliance and I need all the friends that I can get.

Path-Shaper, on 13 April 2011 - 06:02 PM, said:

I currently have you down as having forged alliances with Serc and Kalse. You cannot forge another alliance without breaking one of those.

Vengey spills the beans to D'rek about The Dude's true identity.

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 11:46 AM, said:

Alkand says that Tiam is most definately a follower as Alkand can also see his allies strengths. So What ever.

Barghast is twelve.

I voted for Tiam.

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 02:14 PM, said:

Well you should rest easier knowing that we just voted out THE DUDE...... :p

twelve's doing his best to appeal to D'rek's better nature. It's not a bad strategy... making someone feel bad can help keep you around longer.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 02:33 PM, said:

Okay. I have to say as you were the first person I approached I had full trust in you. But I feel that you are keeping secrects from me. First of all you didn't even bat an eye when I told you that there was already a 5 person alliance. If you weren't part of one then I thought that you would have at least said something about it asking for more info. Then when I mentioned that we should vote HP you practially freaked out.

So I think that you are in an alliance.with HP, Merrid, Alkend & D'riss

I thought that Kalse was in that list as well but he actually voted for Hood's Path.

Anomandaris is showing how completely untrustworthy he is with just about every post that he makes so I doubt that he is in your alliance.

I'm not telling you all this because I'm accussing you of betraying me. I know that you are just looking out for yourself by trying to form as many alliances as you can. I'm telling you this because I saw enough on thread to know that you would be a good ally and I still want to be your ally. I just hope that you still would be willing to have me.

ansible is going to try and get in with Vengey... he's gonna need some help to avoid going home.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 04:05 PM, said:

I want to forge an alliance with Merrid, if possible. What happens if he has two alliances already and I try to use this on him?

If it goes through, here's my message to him:

Hey Merrid. Interesting in forming an alliance with me and possibly some others? Since our tribe is already down a member I think it's time to form a voting block of sorts...and of course to make sure that block can win challenges. What do you say?

Path-Shaper, on 13 April 2011 - 06:06 PM, said:

Noted and deleting.

In response to your question, every player can only forge two alliances but they can be approached (or receive) any number of alliances. The forge only counts against your forge total.

Also, you can tell Merrid yourself. I don't pass any info along, I Just create the alliance thread.

D'rek wants to clarify her Morale.

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 04:35 PM, said:

Okay, so the -1 Morale to everyone from starvation, that's *not* the tribal council morale loss, it's different. And the usual loss of morale to everyone for tribal council is still applied but just not spoken about on-thread, instead told to everyone in confessionals individually. Right?

Path-Shaper, on 13 April 2011 - 06:09 PM, said:

Global Morale changes that are "known" are announced on thread. They effect everyone. If someone, like you, has an ability that prevents it from occurring, I'll tell you privately.

So you didn't lose Morale from Tribal Council but all others did, as far as you know. You *did* lose it to Starvation, as did everyone else as far as you know.

Without any outside information, your perspective would be that you are at Good (+1) Morale and the rest of your tribe is at Average (0) Morale. Any Morale modifying stuff will, of course, go through before the Challenge, though, just like last time.

Ano's got the numbers on his side but he may be a thorn or weak link to his tribe... will be interesting to see how this goes.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 01:17 PM, said:

Looks like you were right about Anomandaris...not only did he completely miss the TC vote, but he continues to talk in the thread after voting when the rules clearly say not to... He's going to suffer some penalties for sure, and that's going to hurt us.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 02:01 PM, said:

He is either clearly a noob or just not very careful. I wouldn't trust him.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 03:09 PM, said:

Alright, so Tiam got voted off... who are we looking to align ourselves with now? Was Tiam aligned with anyone who would side with us? I'm considering Merrid (for the END role) or maybe Serc (if he has a Leader role? even though I'm covering the INT bonus he might not have the same role as me).

If we go to TC it's gonna be Anomandaris for sure I think.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 03:40 PM, said:

Unfortunately I'm thinking Anomandaris is the only one that might be willing to side with us. There was one vote that wasn't accounted for last night and I think it was Anomandaris's. We might have to approach him and someone else to see if we can't get someone to flip to our side.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 03:51 PM, said:

Hmm, so you're thinking everyone else is already allied together? I have a feeling a lot of people voted for Tiam due to the way he was talking on thread, it did seem pretty suspicious, and the comments from Serc didn't help.

Honestly Anomandaris hasn't contributed hardly anything and his challenge abilities seem redundant as well. If we can avoid associating with him I think we should..but I guess we'll see. Have you attempted to contact anyone else yet?

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 04:04 PM, said:

I've been talking with Serc but I'm getting the feeling that he is hiding things from me. I sent him a message laying out what I suspect is going on and am waiting on his reply. That message may have sunk my ship if it's true. That is why, even though I think Anomandaris is worthless, we may still be forced to work with him. Either that or we throw him under the bus in hopes of surviving one more round as low men on the totem pole. That latter option will probably be our best bet.

Maybe you should forge an alliance with Serc as well to form a strong 3 man alliance with him hoping to convince him to keep you and me when it's time for him to make a move on his stronger alliance. Right now I know yours and mine neck are on the line.

You should approach someone else as well with your Forge alliance actions and start working on some of the other players to see if we can get another 3 sided alliance with someone else from the core 5. maybe we can work a few angles here to move from the bottom to the top. It's either that or lay down and die and let them vote each of us out one after the other.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 04:12 PM, said:

Can we make more than two alliances? I thought once we had two you had to break one in order to forge a new one. So for instance, if you and I both make an alliance with Serc, then none of us can make any more alliances since we all have two.

For now I've approached Merrid; waiting to hear back. With any luck Serc won't betray you... If it goes south with Merrid then I might approach Serc like you suggested.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 05:15 PM, said:

You can only forge 2 alliances but if two other people approach you then you can have up to 4 people that you talk with.

I am still waiting the hear back from Serc.

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

D'rek sets the ground rules for the Gentlemen Bastards. She's really running the show!

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 05:59 PM, said:

Ah, you want to join the Gentlemen Bastards, do you? 'tis a force to be reckoned with indeed, so powerful it just voted out The Dude!

You're welcome to join us, and I understand you've already been in communication with HP, who is one of us. However, understand that the Gentlemen will come first, and while we try to keep the tribe's own strategy in mind, we always put our own survival first and foremost. There is no voting off our weakest member, ever, so long as someone else can be voted for. We'll try and act in the best interests of each of our members, but it does mean the possibility may occur that any friends you have who are not Gentlemen will be eliminated. Just sayin'.

If you can live with that and have the desire to kick ass, then welcome aboard.

twelve's realizing that allying with Ano isn't to his strategy... but he may be way too late here.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 06:06 PM, said:

Yeah I realized that already after I sent this out. I think I want to throw Anomandaris under the bus for the next tribal council anyway so I'll stick with my current alliances.

Vengey tells D'rek what's going on.

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 06:12 PM, said:

Kalse just started an alliance with me but he hasn't said anything yet. We shall see

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 06:14 PM, said:

Ano's in, and Bargy's going to be with us soon, too. Also, we voted out The Dude = awesome!

D'rek lays out some info for twelve, but she's being somewhat duplicitous.

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 06:13 PM, said:

Yeah pretty much, though Alkend isn't with them (AFAIK). They approached me shortly before you did and, well, strength in numbers, buddy. I didn't want to lose HP since he's my connection to them. Nothing is certain, but it seemed yesterday that things were something of a 4v4, with Tiam, Alkend, Ano and Kalse looking to vote HP and us 4 looking to vote Tiam, with you being the swing in the middle so I tried to get you to switch. HP and Merrid were trying to get one of the enemy to switch though, and it looks like it worked. They know I've connected with you and I think they're willing to keep you with us if you're willing.

IMHO, it doesn't do you any harm on the issue to be with us, but personally you'll probably be in shit if we ever are down to just the 5 of us and haven't merged yet, as you're "3rd generation" (HP -> me -> you). I'm not sure if the game will even go that far before we merge, and D'riss might be in the same boat as you (HP -> Merrid -> D'riss), or they might take out Ano first since he's a turncoat. I don't know. But even without you we'd still have a majority already so I think your best bet now is to stick with us and if shit hits the fan try to pin problems on D'riss or Ano. You can definitely push that you're very helpful to the team as a survivalist with the morale boost and endurance bonus.

Anyways, let me know anything you want to say that you want me to pass along and I will.

ansible's alliance with Vengey is probably way too late. Primacy effect, people!

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 06:10 PM, said:

Hi

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 06:14 PM, said:

Hey Merrid. How does an alliance sound? I've got at least one other person over here - the idea we had was to form a voting block based around players who are strong at challenges. What do you think?

Here ansible finally understands how the alliances work.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 06:16 PM, said:

I didn't realize that about the alliance limit; I just heard from P-S and apparently your alliances are unlimited as long as they approach you. It's only your Forge actions that are limited, so you can't "initiate" more than 2 alliances.

Finally got connected with Merrid, waiting to see what he thinks... You still think it's worth it for me to approach Serc?

D'rek is just stoked she got rid of The Dude. Who wouldn't be? She also alts Vengey correctly.

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 06:18 PM, said:

Righto. I was expecting the morale loss from tribal council to be global since it was publicly known, but this system makes sense too. Some people might get a bit suspicious as to why it ain't global though.

Also, we voted out The Dude, holy crap! Trying to figure out who Merrid is, maybe Vengy, he's always good at alting people. Is DiBs playing, he'd be a good fit there too. Hmm...

Vengey talks to D'rek about their plans.

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 06:19 PM, said:

Now aren't you glad you finally decided to trust me enough to work together. I don't remember the last time we were paired. But enough of that I have kalse on the line so away I go.

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 06:22 PM, said:

Sure enough kalse wants me to join with him and another person in forming an alliance.

Ahhh slow movers...

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 06:33 PM, said:

Something to bear in mind for later on. If we have a voting block that is all in our time zones then we could wreak havoc, and speed lynch after the merger.

We might not need to but all of us being on line and talking at the same time could also be helpful.

He leads on ansible.

Merrid, on 13 April 2011 - 06:28 PM, said:

I might be susptable to flattery. And I do like voting blocks. They keep a person from being lynched.

But I am interested in what you plan on doing come the final. Assuming that we can get a large enough voting block together.

D'rek talks strategy. She's really thought this through!

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 06:39 PM, said:

(This is going to be brief I have an exam to go study for. Also I need to shower and eat lunch. And clean the bunny's cage. And sweep the floors. And fix the fence that fell apart in the windstorm last night... you get the idea)

I'm not overconfident from yesterday. Day 1 was bound to be a convoluted mess of little alliances building, and I'm sure HP, Merrid, Ano, Bargy, etc. all have other contacts they're not telling me about. That being said, I think my idea of aiming straight at a 5-person alliance and being upfront about that with Merrid and HP has helped me get them on-board with me more than others. As with any team-building, formalizing the team, lots of communication and developing an identity are all tools I'm using that will make my alliance more attractive than others. Consciously or sub-consciously, they'd rather be a Gentleman Bastard where they know the goals of the organization and who's on it then in a vague alliance with Kalse or D'riss. I also think I've done well at taking charge of the group such that I'm clearly the leader, but not creating resentment in the followers. Merrid and HP know they're right beside me and that there are lesser minions beneath them, so they feel like they're valued parts of the team. Ano made a smart move in contacting me directly and I'll wait and see whether he wants HP to know that or not.

Now that we're into Day 2, the little 2-man alliances that are everywhere are going to either converge into big alliances or diverge into more or less wasted little friendships that mean less than the big alliances and where neither side will share much of anything. I would not be surprised if D'riss, Kalse and Alkend are allied by the end of today and I also wouldn't be surprised if Bargy, Ano or Merrid are playing both sides. So that's Phase 2.

Phase 3 is going to be when the sides figure out each other and its all finalized. For example, if Merrid is in contact with kalse and is playing for both sides (though obviously his true allegiance is to the Bastards), but then Barghast talks to D'riss and he knows Merrid is part of my alliance, well then Kalse+D'riss+Alkend will know Merrid is playing them and will lose their trust in Merrid. Even if they try to toy with Merrid, information won't be revealed to Merrid and he'll get the sense of that and know he's not really with them anymore. I'm fairly confident the Gentlemen Bastards will turn out on top numbers-wise for Phase 3 and then we'll dominate easily.

The best possibility, though, is we go to tribal council as little as possible. The Dureza's are known entities and the more of them that are in the merged tribe the better. I don't know much about the Pensadors, so I won't know what abilities they have when we merge and that makes it harder to play them. So far I already know what the starting abilities of 5 of the roles are (either Deceiver or Follower I don't know and I don't know the 2nd ability of Challenger) and I know every Dureza's role except Ano (Leader or Genius) and Alkend (Deceiver or Follower). Obviously some of their claims are unverified, but I'm willing to adjust as we go.

snake0026 is a pretty savvy guy but doesn't spam up the thread like everyone else. His plan is simple, not get voted out. The problem will be he needs to get his ass in some alliances. He's already way late to the party and it could cost him.

Okaros, on 13 April 2011 - 06:40 PM, said:

Thus far I think Pensador has a distinct advantage over Dureza for the simple fact that we are not all sheepophiles.

As for what I plan to do moving forward, well, I'm glad you asked. In a word, I plan on surviving. To elaborate, I shall continue to do, as I have always done, whatever the pig's head commands of me, for I am nought but his humble servant, while he is my most merciful, just, and porcine God.

D'rek talks with Vengey and clues in that nobody is talking about D'riss. That's the clue that he's open for the taking!

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 06:43 PM, said:

Have we ever been paired? I certainly have called a few of your reveals complete lies in the past, only for them to be true and make me lose the game Posted Image

Ha, Kalse has only one other? Yeah, they are slow. If Bargy can be believed then Kalse's other is Ano, who is also with us through HP! So, yeah Kalse is not in a good position right about now. Alkend is probably even more isolated though, sounds like he was heart and soul with Tiam. Oddly, I haven't been hearing anything about D'riss from anyone.

D'rek also knows that speed lynching doesn't really work. If you have numbers, it may not matter much, but you have to be very careful that one person doesn't chain win immunity near the end and makes it an easy jury vote.

I don't think that would really help much. Tribal council doesn't end even once a majority is reached, so if we speed vote it'll be really obvious for the remainder that we're working in concert.

It's pretty clear Pensador mostly enjoys the game thus far but they haven't had to go to Tribal Council yet... that is never pleasant. I'm curious that Liosan wants to diversify... I understand having more stuff available, but he clearly is the only Challenger on his tribe. Why not push that further to stay ahead of the pack? Strength will be used for a very long time.

Liosan, on 13 April 2011 - 06:56 PM, said:

I like the game, I keep waiting for a killer to jump up though! I'm working with the alliance thing - Karatallid is putting together a voting block that will hopefully see us through to the end and then I guess we'll get to fight it out among ourselves. I do think he is trying to manipulate the group (but who wouldn't?)

I'm trying to be valuable to my team, to avoid the vote & get the win. I'm not as good at talking my way out of trouble as some, so I want to stay on top.

I've contemplated a counter-alliance to hedge my bets, but don't think I'm deceptive enough and would just screw up. I want to get a new class when I level up, I think, but am undecided

ansible is trying to potentially inject himself into the Gentlemen Bastards by pointing out the less active or weaker players.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 07:01 PM, said:

What do you mean by the "final"? You mean at the very end? Well...assuming we're lucky enough to make it that far, I think our alliance should be strong enough to last us close to that point. After the merge I don't know how alliances will shift; maybe it will remain a sort of Dureza vs. Pensador divide, but I have no idea. I don't see how it would benefit us to shift alliances TOO much as the Jury has to vote for the winner (and it's likely that the Jury will have been allied with some of the last remaining players at that point).

Regardless, I think you'd be a good addition to our alliance. Are you already allied with anyone else who would be joining us? Or who would you choose to ally with?

Also, what's your current feelings on Alkend? His lack of participation and information is worrying me.

Lizra is considering sitting out, which is probably a good idea since he doesn't have any bonuses.

Ruse, on 13 April 2011 - 09:17 PM, said:

Does it affect the experience one gains if you sit on challenge out or does the player that sits out still gains experience?

Path-Shaper, on 13 April 2011 - 09:28 PM, said:

It has no effect whatsoever. EXP is entirely based on the votes. Tonight, after someone is voted out, everyone will have a chance to level up or branch out (regardless of which tribe goes).

ansible looks to team up with D'rek. He's already talking to Vengey. This is probably a good play considering where he's at "right now." Being the only Genius on the tribe may help him, too, but he'll have to make that known since they think there maybe 2-3 Geniuses right now.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 07:04 PM, said:

I'd like to forge an alliance with Serc.

HiddenOne considers his choices after leveling up... he's safe at least one vote so no harm here. I really don't think he should consider branching into INT or END roles at this point. Maybe Deciever/Follower/Leader, but the bigger the margin he can wrack up in Strength challenges, the better. Then again, some of the pure single-INT challenges later will be a huge hindrance to him and if he looks like a powerhouse to win, those could cost him the game.

Liosan, on 13 April 2011 - 09:07 PM, said:

I would like to keep going as Challenger becasue its been working for me so far, but I don't want to be overspecialized and unable to compete with the general players on intell. & endurance challenges. I'm really on the fence.

twelve is interesting here... he clearly doesn't trust D'rek and yet continues to feed her information and try to gain her trust. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad strategy. He could just be sending himself out of the game faster if D'rek doesn't think he's useful and he is dangerous for playing so hard, but she may be somewhat fond of him for being an eager strategist and keep him around...

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 06:37 PM, said:

I'm okay being number 6 for now as I can survive a couple more tribals to try and wiggle my way in some where. I was already dead set on throwing Anomandaris under the bus as he has proven time and time again with his posts that he is not very trustworthy.

So let me get this straight. As far as you knew before the vote results were revealed it was

Me, Tiamatha, Alkend, Anomandaris and Kalse voting for Hood's Path
You, Merrid, Hood's Path & D'riss voting for Tiamatha

But since Tiamatha was voted out
then Alkend, Anomandaris or Kalse switched votes. Actually two of them had to as the final vote was 5-3 with one vote not being shown which means it was also a vote for Tiamatha.

I don't usually interact with anyone outside of mafia and I figure I should start to get to know some people especially if this game lasts close to 2-3 weeks per what PB told me.

my alt is twelve (Scott)

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 06:49 PM, said:

Oh don't worry, you were pegged as twelve on Day 1 :p Tiam, by the way, was The Dude, which is amazing that we actually voted him out (he's nigh impossible to lynch). Unfortunately, I won't be revealing my alt as there are some who have me "listed" and will do their utmost to target me if they can, and I just can't risk that info getting out. I'm a veteran, needless to say.

As for the tribal council votes, the scene's counting didn't make any sense (it went from tied at 2-3, to 5-4, or some such). The end result was almost certainly a 5-4 Tiam-HP. It was probably Ano who switched.

Anything you want me to pass along to HP, or just that you're in?

Also how did you know that Anomandaris and Alkend were looking to vote HP?

twelve talks more with ansible about their strategy. They are forming an alliance of their own but they'll need some help to get to the merge.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 06:45 PM, said:

Yeah it wouldn't hurt to approach him.

Were you approached by anyone else to vote out HP? You did vote Hood's path right? I figure it was you, me and Tiam that voted for him and everyone else voting for Tiam.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 07:03 PM, said:

Yeah, I voted HP. Must have been everyone else on Tiam, like you said. Merrid is being kind of cautious but hopefully he'll commit here in a bit.

I'm going to approach Serc and see what happens.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 07:03 PM, said:

Oh, and no, no one else approached me about HP.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 09:10 PM, said:

Serc was certain there were 5 people at one point looking to vote out HP. I'm not sure what changed their mind? Have you reached out to Serc yet?

And D'rek giving tips to twelve.

Serc, on 13 April 2011 - 09:35 PM, said:

AFAIK = as far as I know

Alkend was known to be in strong cahoots with Tiam, so since you said Tiam was voting HP then Alked would do the same. Ano was known to be siding with Kalse and HP was pretty sure they were connecting with Tiam, thus they'd be voting the same as Tiam.

As for alting, everyone is pretty obvious at first. As you progress you learn to start hiding yourself better and better, and after that you start learning to ID other people. This game is not really a good example of any of that, though.

Should I sent him the same message you have send to Lio and Shadow?

ansible's trying to find a seam to sneak into D'rek's group, too. It will be interesting to see how she plays it considering how adamant she was about keeping the five together.

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 11:32 PM, said:

Serc - what's up?

I was going to try and make an alliance with you earlier on but Barghast got to me first, and then you, right? How does an alliance sound? Right now you are one of the only people on Dureza I'd consider strong enough to approach about this. You and I have the same role, I think, but if we coordinate then we could make sure our future roles/abilities complement each other. I think Barg is right about getting a strong core of challenge-capable players together, and if he goes STR next role, we're pretty well rounded. Not to mention if we pick up another man or two.

I also think this alliance would strengthen things between you/me/Barghast; a solid 3-man alliance would give us a slight edge over other, longer chains.

What do you think?

twelve's trying to get some info out of me. It's relatively innocent but I can't reveal stuff like that.

Barghast, on 13 April 2011 - 11:33 PM, said:

Can you let me know if all of our survivialst has at least submitted their actions to you for this round? I would like to post the game plan for the challenge before the forum crashes again.

I can't do that. It's up to you to either gamble or ask them yourself. I know the forum is an issue, but hey, nobody said Survivor was easy =p

You know what we may be wasting our time talking to Serc and Merrid. At least for the time being. I think that maybe you should reach out to Alkend and I reach out to Anomandaris to see if they are in a solid tight alliance with anyone. What do you think?

Kalse, on 13 April 2011 - 11:50 PM, said:

I'm waiting on responses from Merrid and Serc now, so I'd rather wait to see what they say before we just move on. If they both side with us, that's half of our tribe right there. Alkend is a total question mark to me; I don't have a problem approaching him but up until now it seems he's definitely been playing for himself, and that isn't good for us in the short- or long-term.

If Anomandaris is an INT role like me and Serc, then there's no real benefit choosing him over Serc unless he has connections that would benefit us. I'm also not keen on how sloppy Anom's play has been, missing votes, not reading the rules, etc. If things go wrong I think Anom might be a good target to take down if we lose the challenge again (of course, this might be impossible if he's allied with everyone else...).

What makes you think we should ditch Merrid and Serc so quickly anyway?

Vengey gives some info to ansible.

Merrid, on 14 April 2011 - 12:59 AM, said:

I gave actually been talking to alkend. He has given out a little more info to me. Not much though. He was allied with tiam and was actually close with him I believe. Through him I heard that barghast and tiam were connected with another player.

Kalse, on 14 April 2011 - 01:10 AM, said:

That other player is probably me. I never talked to Tiam but I've been allied with Barghast for awhile now and he was allied with Tiam. Me and Barghy have been trying to consolidate some power into this alliance since we lost Tiam.

My suspicion of Alkend was mostly based on not knowing what was going on with him. Since then Barghast has mentioned reaching out to bring Alkend into the alliance anyway. So you two are allied? I think that gives us a pretty solid core if you join as well as Alkend, so even better. Possibly one more might end up being added to this, too.

So you must have voted for Tiam, right? What was the reasoning behind that? And I guess since then you've talked to Alkend and found he was allied with Tiam?

Kalse, on 14 April 2011 - 01:13 AM, said:

Merrid replied - he's been talking with Alkend, who was allied with Tiam apparently! So there's a circle here going on, I have a good feeling about Merrid/Alkend joining. Now that Alkend has revealed on thread I have no problems with him. I replied to Merrid - he knew Alkend was allied with Tiam and through Tiam, you - and he knew that there was one other player allied with Tiam and Barg (probably me unless there's another ally I don't know about...). So I told him it was you and I and possibly one more (Serc, who hasn't replied yet).

Here's Lizra with the formal introduction to Shin.

Ruse, on 14 April 2011 - 01:18 AM, said:

So far, I have to give major kudos to D'rek and Vengeance for leading people around by the nose and forming a good alliance. I'm also very impressed with Roldom getting an alliance formed and trying to get them to web to each other to avoid all outside influence.

Bent's made a massive mistake here by not being around. He's already on the outside but as his tribe's only Genius, he really should have been around to insist he got the second leg of this coming challenge. Shin will need a lot of luck to compete with Kalse/ansible, since ansible will have several extra bonuses. The big question mark here is that Barghast is idol hunting... so he's going to be sitting at only +1 Morale. Luckily, he has one simple roll to make and that's it.

D'rek is honest with ansible and ansible's choice of Genius may buy him some time.

Serc, on 14 April 2011 - 01:39 AM, said:

I don't know how much Barghast has told you, so I'll just lay it out plain:

I'm already a member of an alliance, a big one. We've got a plurality and aren't likely to lose it short of a merge. My allegiance goes to them first.

On the other hand, we're all in this together. From what the other team has shown, they've got a couple solid intelligence guys and are not as endurance-heavy as we are. So guys like you and me are going to be very important to Dureza's winning challenges, and if Barghast goes STR he'll be crucial, too. Our tribe doesn't necessarily really need four or five survivalists.

So, with that in mind, I can't promise my complete utter and loyalty, but I can promise friendship as well as expressing my support of keeping you alive to the other alliance-members when we go to tribal council. I think I can be pretty effective at swaying them when necessary that keeping you as an INT-heavy member is better for our tribe.

How does that sound?

I have rolled for the HII find and Barghast got a 10! What an absolute lucky find. He may need it sooner than he wants.

For twelve... this is going to be HUGE because an alliance of 5 cannot reliably vote anybody out even with a vote split. Should be interesting to see what twelve does with it...

It is hard to find time at camp to get away from other people, but you try to do so during the frequent downtime. You aren't sure if anyone notices your frequent absences.

You look in trees, logs, under rocks, trying to find any obvious marker that might indicate something is out of place.

On the fifth day, you are poking around a tree when you accidentally stumble over a root in the ground. You wince as you feel a twinge of pain and hope you haven't injured yourself. You look at the offending root and notice it has a slight convex appearance. It's very large in size. You put your hand against it and realize it is slightly elevated from the ground. You feel underneath it and... find a rolled-up piece of paper!

You quickly look around and seeing nobody, unravel it. Inside is a beautiful small, jade figurine attached to a rawhide strap. The paper has a series of notes and instructions.

You have found the Hidden Immunity Idol

Dureza: Serc (1I +1HS) 5 | (10 + 1 + 2 + 1) = 13 | -8 => 0.615 (HOT STREAK +2)
Pensador: Shadow (1I) 5 | (2 + 1 + 2) = 5 | 0 (HOT STREAK +1)

Bonus!
Dureza: Serc (1I +2HS) 11 | (3 + 1 + 2 + 2) * 0.615 = 4 | 7

Dureza: Serc (1I +2HS) 7 | (5 + 1 + 2 + 2) = 10 | -3 => 0.30 (HOT STREAK +3)
Pensador: Shadow (1I + 1HS) 9 | (6 + 1 + 2 + 1) = 10 | -1 => 0.10 (HOT STREAK +2)

Bonus!
Dureza: Serc (1I +3HS) 13 | (3 + 1 + 2 + 3) * 0.30 = 2 | 11
Pensador: Shadow (1I + 2HS) 11 | (6 + 1 + 2 + 2) *0.10 = 1 | 10

Dureza: Serc (1I +3HS) 11 | (7 + 1 + 2 + 3) = 13 | -2 => 0.154 (HOT STREAK +4)
Pensador: Shadow (1I + 2HS) 10 | (1 + 1 + 2 + 2) = 6 | 4 (Switch->Gamelon)

Bonus!
Dureza: Serc (1I +4HS) 15 | (9 + 1 + 2 + 4) * 0.154 = 2 | 13

Dureza: Serc (1I +4HS) 13 | (10 + 1 + 2 + 4) = 17 | -4
Pensador: Gamelon (1E) 4 | (7 + 1 + 2) = 10 | -6

Dureza wins!

Tattersail finally gets into the alliance game but she is way late. She picks powerhouse Serc and then idol-wielder Barghast. I wonder if that's a good place to be...

You say we are allowed 2 Forge Alliances with any 2 players at any one time. Can I also forge alliance with Barghy please?

twelve is pleased with the route his luck has gone.

No fricken way!!!!! I thought that I had no chance in hell at find this thing. Finially some good luck coming my way. I don't suffer from any moral penalty do I? I thought for sure of being found out because of my expected poor performace in the upcoming challenge because my moral was going to be in the shitter after losing a challenge, being hungry, voting out a member and not finding the idiol but I guess I don't have to worry about that now.

Hell Yeah!!!! I've got a chance now!!!!

I would like to use my experinece points when the time comes to unlock the Challengers role. I don't know if I have to actually wait to tell you or if I have to send a separate PM but That is what I've said that I would do and I think I will.

On a side note. I think I've figured out what the Leader role may offer. I think that a Leader can forge more than 2 alliances. If that is right I should have gone that route and started forming alliances right out of the gate and be in a much better postion than I'm in. But then I wouldn't have looked for the HII then either :D

Happy Dance!!!!!

Happy Dance!!!!

I have the Hidden Immunity Idol!!!!

Happy Dance!!!!!

That feeling just does't go away very soon.

I have put Kalse on a mision to recruit D'riss and Alkend to our alliance. Though I think Alkend is deeply inbedded into the power side of things. I might have to go after Anomandaris. I hope he isn't as dumb as he has been acting on thread.

No, you don't lose Morale if you find the idol. Since you found it, why would you be dejected? =p

I'm sure you realize this but you got very very very lucky. =)

Vengey's happy as a Survivalist and wants to push it up. He's got the numbers, so why worry, right?

lets see what level two of this bitch looks like... :D

Tattersail is considering maybe a 2-role approach to the game.

Right, say I want to mix my current role with a leader role is this possible, Can I in future increase the survivalist role? Should I mix it with other task abilities or keep on strengthening it?

Path-Shaper, on 14 April 2011 - 02:17 PM, said:

You can take the Leader role for your next advancement, sure. You can then later also progress either of those roles, if you wish. You only get 8 EXP and leveling to Level 3 or Level 4 costs 3 EXP per, so your "total" number of choices are limited, but it's feasible to go 3/1 or 2/2 in two different roles.

As to what you "should" do, that's entirely up to you. Typically, unlocking other paths gives you more information and more abilities, but they are weaker. Progressing down one path gives you fewer abilities and information, but they are stronger.
