Chapter 4, and already a huge fact was just dropped that completely changes where I expected this book to go.

Did everyone see that they are going to have videos up of Jim Butcher reading Chapters 1 and 2 at some convention? Might be interesting.

So, back when CHANGES was coming out, I was in the bookstore... Indigo Bay & Bloor (the flagship store) two weeks before the release date and the book was on the shelf and I nearly shat my pants with excitement at being able to read it early...I bought it and hustled out of the store like a thief in the night clutching my prize...

Well, I've been popping into that same store periodically since last week in the hopes that the same sort of mistake would get made with GHOST STORY...to no avail so far...but IF the mistake is going to be made it will most certainly happen on a Tuesday (new release day)....so wish me luck when I go to check tonight. Perhaps the Dresdencrack gods will smile down upon me...

1) Series re-read. -- Check
2) Avoid Butcher forums on malazanempire.com for fear of spoilers. -- Check
3) Side Jobs re-read. -- Check
4) Avoid Butcher forums on malazanempire.com more. -- Check
5) Start biting fingernails and re-read Deathly Hallows for "Diet Harry" gap-fill. -- Check
6) Quickly scan Butcher forums on malazanempire.com for teaser excerpt. -- Check
7) Find five freakin' chapters available for perusal. -- Uh oh...
8) Avoid said five chapters to wait for virgin hardcover to arrive by mail. -- Shit

*burp* well that was fun... 12 days to cogitate the OMFGness of the teaser chapters... Quitting smoking was easier than this waiting.
