Ha! That is a puny 0.05% or so of what Firefox managed!

At least, until I decided a website that knowingly and willingly keeps shit like this did not deserve a moment of my time.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Oh come now, Illy, that's hardly fair. "Your Mileage May Vary", and all that*. :)

Besides, it's not so different to Wikipedia in that sense. Wiki has absolutely crap, useless entires on it that I feel should lessen my regard of the site, yet it doesn't because I figure someone, somewhere, at least took the time to make it. Which means there is one person, minimum, who cared. XD

@Ment - really? 70 tabs? Wow. Firefox normally has about 120 open for me. Which is why I keep Chrome handy for day-to-day browsing. Opening FF if I closed it and saved tabs takes ages...>.<

*Incidentally, I was just browsing that entry the other day, by chance. See the random confluences that Tropes can create? *shudder*

The fact that at least one person seriously considers the fact that two actors are playing brothers in a TV show as proof that they are fucking in real life isn't terrible to you? And there is far more than one person who thinks that.

Perhaps I'm just burnt out from reading a thread somewhere about fandomsecrets. The knowledge that people like, love and adore an anime about anthropomorphised WWII countries that is blatant yaoi bait and utterly trivialises the subject matter enough to base their knowledge of that era on it, and that someone out there wrote a fanfic involving these characters dealing with the fucking Rape of Nanking leaves me a little low on respect for humanity.

On a less horrifying note, Randomly Capitalising Words LOOKS FUCKING RETARDED COMPLETELY UNLIKE CAPS LOCK

It's terrible, but that doesn't make the rest of the site any less valid. Indeed, it doesn't make those people's other opinions any less valid - otherwise you're slipping into an ad hominim fallacy.

Besides, I think your problem is that you're already tropified, and so find no joy in the Tropes themselves. I, personally, already had low expectations of humanity (Twilight, for example, as a recent piece of evidence that people are idiots), and shrug other things off as being trolling, idiocy, or psychopathy. *shrug*

EDIT: Ugh, my SPG is slipping. Too much assembly code. :)

When their opinions are 'this stuff isn't so bad, we'll keep it' then their opinions are objectively wrong. As you well know, all of my personal opinions are default correct in the first place. Even when changed at a later date.

As far as the human race goes, I think I've cycled back around to amazement at this point. HOLY SHIT THIS IS GETTING HEAVY

@Silencer: you see, I use Chrome in day to-day-browsing.

IE is used for things like hotmail (because Chrome sucks and boots you to page 1 of inbox every goddamn time, which is a pain when you let unread mail to accumulate to reach about 300 before going through all of it) and weather. if I feel the need to kill several hour of my life i'd open tropes on IE. on Chrome it would would suck away my life and i'd take a break in the morning of next day to go to school/class.

I have a simple strategy. I only let myself browse TV tropes nowadays on my phone. Which means I can read no spoilertext, and though I COULD tab myself into oblivion, it's too annoying to do so.

So I tried it out today.

I thought, 'well these guys are a load of wimps, what the hell do they know?'. Then I went in on the deep end and decided to start with The Wire.

Logged in, got to the page. Read the summary. Then I moved down to the hyperlinks.

2 minutes of reading later, and I literally threw myself away from the computer and closed the window. Holy mutherfucker, that place is dangerous. I have potentially just saved my job by not going further.

I did and also added a few tropes. It's not bad but the "Crowning Moment of Awesome" section is very, very, poor.
